글 없는 그림책을 활용한 개별적 이야기 짓기와 협동적 이야기 짓기가 유아의 창의성에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 개별적 이야기 짓기와 협동적 이야기 짓기가 만 4세 유아들의 창의성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 유아교육기관에서 유아의 창의성을 신장하기 위한 방법으로 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 이야기 짓기 활동을 할 때, 어떠한 집단 구성이 효과적인지에 대한 방향을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 개별적 이야기 짓기 활동이 유아의 창의성(유창성, 융통성, 독창성, 상상력)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 2. 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 협동적 이야기 짓기 활동이 유아의 창의성(유창성, 융통성, 독창성, 상상력)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울특별시 성북구에 위치한 K 공립유치원 만 4세 유아 40명(남아 20명, 여아 20명)이다. 글 없는 그림책을 활용하여 개별적 이야기 짓기 활동을 실시하는 유아 20명으로 실험집단 1을 구성하고, 글 없는 그림책을 활용하여 협동적 이야기 짓기 활동을 실시하는 유아 20명으로 실험집단 2를 구성하였다. 실험처치 기간은 2011년 4월 11일부터 5월 2일까지 4주간이며, 주 3회씩 총 10회의 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 이야기 짓기 활동을 실시하였다. 연구 도구로 유아의 창의성을 측정하기 위해 전경원이 개발한 학지 심리검사연구소의 ‘유아 종합 창의성 검사(K-CCTYC, 1999년 개정판)’를 사용하였고, 실험 처치 과정에서 「빨간 풍선의 모험」,「사과와 나비」,「빨간 끈」,「나무」,「사과가 쿵」,「눈사람 아저씨」,「이상한 화요일」,「눈사람이 된 풍선」,「왜?」,「제이크 하늘을 날다」의 10권의 글 없는 그림책을 사용하였다. 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 두 집단의 창의성 수준에 차이가 없는지 동질성을 검증한 후, 각 실험집단의 사전검사 점수와 사후검사 점수를 두 종속표본 t 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 개별적 이야기 짓기 활동을 실시한 결과, 창의성 총점이 유의미하게 증가하였다. 창의성의 하위요소별로 살펴보면 유창성과 상상력이 유의미하게 증진되었고, 융통성과 독창성은 증진되었으나 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 협동적 이야기 짓기 활동을 실시한 결과, 창의성 총점이 유의미하게 증가하였다. 창의성의 하위요소별로 살펴보면 상상력이 유의미하게 증진되었고, 유창성, 융통성과 독창성은 증진되었으나 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 종합하면 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 개별적 이야기 짓기와 협동적 이야기 짓기 모두 유아의 창의성 증진에 영향을 주는 교수법이라 할 수 있으며, 개별적 이야기 짓기 활동은 창의성의 하위 요인 중 유창성과 상상력의 증진에 영향을 주며, 협동적 이야기 짓기 활동은 창의성의 하위 요인 중 상상력의 증진에 영향을 주는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 따라서, 교육 현장에서 유아의 창의성을 신장하기 위한 방법으로 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 이야기 짓기 활동을 적극 활용할 필요가 있다.;The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of individual storymaking and cooperative story making by wordless picture books on the creativity of four-year-olds. It also aimed to offer some directions as to what kind of group formation would be effective when using storymaking activities by wordless picture books as a means of increasing young children's creativity. For those purposes, the study set the following research questions: 1. What kind of effects do individual storymaking activities by wordless picture books have on young children's creativity(fluency, flexibility, originality, and imagination)? 2. What kind of effects do cooperative storymaking activities by wordless picture books have on young children's creativity(fluency, flexibility, originality, and imagination)? The subjects include 40 four-year-olds(20 boys and 20 girls) attending a public kindergarten called K in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. Experiment Group 1 included 20 young children who would participate in individual storymaking activities by wordless picture books, and Experiment Group 2 included 20 young children who would participate in cooperative storymaking activities by wordless picture books. The experiment lasted for four weeks from April 11 to May 2, 2011, during which total ten sessions of storymaking activities by wordless picture books were administered with three times per week. The research tool used in the study was the "Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children(K-CCTYC revised in 1999)" developed by Jeon Gyeong-won at Hakji Psychological Tests Research Institute to measure young children's creativity. The experimental treatment process used ten wordless picture books including 「The Adventures of the Red Balloon」, 「The Apple and the Butterfly」, 「The Red String」, 「The Tree」, 「The Apple with a Thud」, 「Mr. Snowman」, 「A Strange Tuesday」, 「The Balloon That Became a Snowman」, 「Why?」, and 「Jake Flying to the Sky」. For the test of the research questions, a homogeneity test was conducted to see any differences in the creativity level between the two groups and followed by two independent-sample t-test with the pre- and post-test scores of the groups. The research findings can be summarized as follows: First, the young children's total creativity scores significantly rose after the individual storymaking activities by wordless picture books. For the subelements of creativity, fluency and imagination made a significant increase, and flexibility and originality made an increase with no significant differences before and after the experiment. Secondly, the young children's total creativity scores significantly rose after the cooperative storymaking activities by wordless picture books. For the subelements of creativity, imagination made a significant increase, and fluency, flexibility and originality made an increase with no significant differences before and after the experiment. In short, the results suggest that individual storymaking and cooperative storymaking by wordless picture books is a teaching method that can improve creativity in young children. While individual storymaking activities have positive impact on fluency and imagination of the subfactors of creativity, cooperative storymaking activities do on imagination. Thus there is a need to put storymaking activities by wordless picture books to active use as a means of increasing young children's creativity.
