인간관계를 형상화한 인체 표현 연구

Abstract

인간은 태어나면서부터 혼자서는 살아갈 수 없는 존재이다. 한 개인은 자신과 타인들이 속한 사회 속에서 태어나고 자라난다. 자신의 주체에 대한 인식 이전에 자아는 이미 사회 안에서 형성되기 때문에 사람은 자신을 둘러싼 환경을 배제하고서는 자신을 파악할 수 없다. 연구자에게 있어 자신과 외부세계와의 관계에 대한 물음은 작업을 하는데 하나의 문제제기의 시발점이 되었다. 나 자신은 이미 타인과 함께 해 왔으며 인간관계 속에서 자신은 타인을, 타인은 자신을 포함하고 있다는 것을 깨닫게 되었다. 본 연구의 주제는 인간이 사회로부터 독립적일 수 없으며 타인과 분리할 수 없는 연계성을 가지고 있다는 점에 근거하여 시작하였으며. 특히 이론적으로는 사회 심리학과 실존 철학의 관점에서 조사, 연구하였다. 이 논문의 주된 테마인 인체는 인류가 조형 표현을 시작하던 시점부터 주요한 표현의 대상중 하나로, 연구자에게 있어서도 유아기에 처음 그린 대상이 사람의 모습이었음에 착안하여 이 분야를 연구하게 되었다. 비록 어린 시절의 자아 표현이었지만 그림 속의 나는 자신만의 모습이 아닌 가족 구성원 중 한 사람의 모습이었다. 성인이 된 현재에도 무의식중에 그리고 있는 형태는 대부분 인체의 모습인 것을 깨달았다. 인간을 표현하는 직접적이고 친숙한 모티브로 인체의 형상을 선정하면서, 인체라는 표면적 형상과 인간이라는 본질적 대상 간의 관계에 대한 철학적 명제를 해결하기 위해 문헌 연구를 통한 이론적 분석과 작품 제작을 동시에 진행하였다. 본 연구를 위해 총 5 점의 작품들이 제작되었는데, 사회와 분리될 수 없는 자아의 모습, 그리고 타자와 자아의 관계를 표현하기 위하여 2인 이상의 인체들을 하나의 형태로 잇는 여러 가지 드로잉을 반복한 후 입체조형물로 형상화시켰다. 드로잉으로 표현된 평면 이미지를 입체로 제작하는 과정은 기법 연습 및 소재 개발의 실험과 함께 수행하였다. 인체 형상의 본을 뜬 후 재단하고 재봉하여 새로운 입체 형상을 제작하는 과정에서는 이런 제작 방법들이 본인의 의도를 가장 적절하게 표현하는 방법인지에 대해 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 진행과정을 통해 작품제작 기간은 연구자 자신의 자아에 대하여 탐구하는 시간이 되었고, 자신을 둘러싼 외부 환경과 주변인들과의 관계에 대해 새로운 발견을 하게 되었다. 인체 형상의 제작과 분해, 조립의 반복적인 행위는 연구자에게 있어 본인이 관심 있는 분야의 조형세계를 확고하게 하는 초석이 될 수 있었다. 또한 연구자에게 있어 조형언어는 말로 하기 어려운 자신의 의식 깊은 곳의 이야기를 표현하기 좋은 수단임을 확인하였고, 인체를 형상화한 입체조형의 표현은 자아에 대한 분석을 통해 자기 자신에 대한 이해에 도달할 수 있는 행복과 만족을 주는 행위라는 점을 확신하는 계기가 되었다.;Human beings, as social animals, are living in relationship with others but each individual is originally an independent being. They are trying to keep themselves and their own territory where they belong, maintaining their independence and individuality. But as they are not free from loneliness and solitude they desire to contact and communicate with others. They make an effort to have good relationships with others, to be included in the group and to form a group. As they are not perfect by themselves, they want to find a spouse or friends. Humans desire a sense of comforts and security through favorable relationship with others. They feel security and happiness when they recognize "accepted" and /or "loved" in their relationships. Quality of life will be accomplished not only by securing their own unique world but also by solidarity and responsibility toward society through relationship with others. Main theme of the study is the expression of human body, which is one of the major theme many artist has been sought for. In my childhood my first drawing was also human beings, usually myself, not as a sole being but as a member of the family. This is still the universal and familiar theme and subject of my art work even I grow older. By researching the meanings and methods of expressing human body of the previous artists, a philosophical rationale and theoretical foundation of my artwork are based. For the study 5 pieces of work were produced, which are, expressed in the images of ego non-separable with the society. For depicting the relationship between self and others, various drawings of human bodies of more than 2 persons were repeatedly attempted and made into the cubic figures. Based on this, work has been projected to achieve the goals with following production steps. The parts of the human body were cast, broken into pieces and then reassembled. Same procedures were repeated several times. They were aligned and put together. Solid(three-dimensional) figures which have an organic relationship with each other were produced. The production and research process is the way to find an ego who continuously relate with others in the surrounding environment. Additionally my research confirms the images of an individual who is experiencing relationship with others in search of the existence of ego in relationship. Through the repeated dissecting and assembling behaviors I confirm that the figurative art activity is my ways of communicating stories hidden in my subconsciousness.
