반복을 통한 삼각형의 운동성 연구

Abstract

모든 예술은 분야를 막론하고 예술가에 의해 창작되는 결과물로서, 예술가의 생각과 감정을 표현하는 언어이자 행위이며, 미를 탐구하고 창조하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 조형 예술도 이러한 전제에서 시작되는데 미를 창조하고 표현함에 있어서 형태는 내용을 담아내는 형식이며, 예술가에게 표현하고자 하는 바를 시각화할 수 있게 해주는 도구가 된다. 하지만 표현하고자 하는 것에 따라 형태는 주제를 더욱 강조시키는 역할을 하지만 오히려 방해하는 요소가 되기도 한다. 조형 작업을 하는 본인에게도 형태는 매우 중요한 표현 수단이 되며 이는 자연스럽게 주요 관심의 대상이 되었다. 특히, 기하학적 형태는 단순하면서도 일시적이거나 우연적인 모습이 아닌 개념적으로 확실하고 순수한 형태로 모든 형태의 기본이 된다. 특히, 자로 잰 듯이 표현된 기하학적 형태 중에서도 삼각형에서 강한 미적 요소를 발견하며, 삼각형은 내게 처음으로 다가온 형태에 대한 경험이자 무한한 변화를 가능하게 하는 출발점이 되었다. 이에 본인은 직접적인 이미지를 묘사하거나 제시하는 것이 아닌 형태를 통해 조형적 아름다움과 효과를 강조하여 표현할 수 있는 대상으로서 삼각형을 연구주제로 삼게 되었다. 이로써 본 논문에서는 삼각형의 개념에 대해서 고찰하고 형태적 특성에서 느껴지는 아름다움과 의미에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 삼각형에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 운동성을 형성하는 요소로서 반복에 대해 알아보고 반복된 형태로 표현되는 시각적 효과와 반복적 행위의 의미에 대해 살펴본다. 선의 구성을 통해 표현된 삼각형은 반복의 원리를 통해 시각적으로 강한 이미지를 표출하고 여러 삼각형으로 조합되었을 때에는 리듬과 방향감이라는 또 다른 조형 효과를 얻을 수 있으며 운동성을 형성하게 된다. 그리고 반복되는 형태들의 나열은 무한 공간으로의 확장을 의미한다. 또한 본 논문에서 직접적으로 표현된 삼각형은 형태에서 느껴지는 조형적 아름다움과 방향성, 그리고 삼위일체를 의미하는 종교적인 상징성을 지니며 이는 표현소재로서 다양한 변화를 주는 요소로 존재한다. 이러한 표현적 요소를 지닌 다른 조형예술작품을 찾아 비교, 분석하여 본 연구에서 삼각형의 명확한 기하학적 조형성을 구체화시키고 형태를 통해 표현되는 운동성을 시각화하여 그 미적 가치를 극대화하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 표현방법에서는 삼각형을 이루는 선을 표현하기 위한 기법으로 자수에 대해 연구하고 자수기법을 통해 보여지는 반복적인 행위로서의 의미와 행위의 결과물인 선의 밀집과 확산을 통해 표현된 명도의 변화와 질감에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 표현재료로 사용한 실크노방과 면사의 특성을 파악하고 조형 작업에 있어 표현기법으로서의 발전 가능성을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 기하학적 도형인 삼각형의 형태에 대해 다시 한 번 개념을 정리하는 계기가 되었고 선을 이용하여 표현된 기하학적인 역동성의 무한한 변화 가능성을 인식할 수 있었으며 새로운 조형세계를 이해하는 안목을 넓히는 기회가 되었다. 이를 통해 연구자에게 있어서 조형 활동은 본인이 추구하는 아름다움을 실현시킬 수 있는 표현 언어이자 수단임을 확인하였다. 그리고 그 과정에서 얻는 만족과 기쁨은 계속적인 작업을 할 수 있게 해주는 동기가 되었으며 앞으로도 지속적인 탐구와 연구를 수행하고자 하는 의지를 다지는 계기가 되었다.;Regardless of any fields, all the types of art are language and action as a result that is created by artists. The purpose of art is to seek and create beauty. Formative art also starts from such premises. In creating and expressing beauty, form is a means for expressing its content, and a tool for visualizing what artists want to express. However, although form emphasizes its subject, it may deemphasize the role of form according to the expression. As a formative artist, I place a high value on form in order to express my desire. Above all, geometric forms become the basic for all art forms because these are simple, but pure and solid in concept. Especially, I discover strong aesthetic elements from triangles, among geometric forms that are expressed in apple-pie order. To me, triangles became the first experience about form and a starting point to create infinite changes. Accordingly, as my study subject, triangles that formative beauty and its effects are emphasized and expressed through form were used, not directly depicting or suggesting images. In this study, It intends to study the concept of a triangle, and its beauty and meaning from the character in terms of form. Based on the understanding of a triangle, repetition is firstly studied as an element that has motion, and then both the visual effect expressed by repeated forms and the meaning of repeated actions are studied as well. The triangle expressed through construction of lines presents a visually strong image by the principle of repetition. In case many triangles are combined, another formative effect called rhythm and direction is shown along with motion. And the arrangement of repeated forms means an extension into infinite space. In addition to this, the triangle expressed in this study has formative beauty and direction from the character in terms of form. As a subject matter in expression, it also has religious symbolism meaning the Trinity and at the same time becomes an element that gives various changes. The purpose of this study is to investigate, compare, and analyze such expressive elements. Based on it, the geometric formativeness of a triangle is clearly concretized and its aesthetic value is maximized by visualizing the motion that is expressed through form. In expression method, embroidery were studied in order to express lines for triangles. The meaning of repeated action in terms of embroidery technique was investigated, along with the change of brightness and texture expressed through the result of action, or the density and spread of lines. In addition, the character of silk organza and cotton used as expression materials was understood, and its development possibility as expression technique for formative work was investigated. Through this study, the concept of a geometrical figure, or the form of a triangle was studied, the possibility of infinite changes in geometrical dynamics expressed with lines was recognized, and I could develop my ability to look at a new formativeness world. Through it, it was confirmed that formativeness activity is an expression language and a means that I can realize the beauty they pursue. The satisfaction and pleasure obtained from its process became a motive for me to continue work. With this study as a momentum, I will conduct further study.
