박보경의 “The Repetitions” for String Quartet (2009) 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 박보경의 “The Repetitions” for String Quartet (2009)에 관한 분석 연구이다. 이 작품은 음악대학 대학원 연주를 위한 작품으로 2009년 11월 13일 이화여자대학교 김영의홀 에서 초연되었다. 본인의 작품 “The Repetitions” for String Quartet (2009)는 12음 기법을 바탕으로 작곡되어 졌으며 “Introduction(도입부)-A-B-A'-C-A”의 6개의 부분들로 구성 되어있는 론도형식(Rondo form)의 단악장 곡이다. 이 작품은 ‘동일한 것을 되풀이 하다’로 정의되는 “반복”의 뜻을 상징적으로 표현하기 위하여 작곡되어졌다. 그러나 이 작품에서 나타내고자 하는 “반복”의 의미는 ‘동일한 것을 되풀이’하는 반복이 아닌 ‘차이’ 들의 반복이다. 즉, 동일한 것으로부터 끊임없이 차이를 만들어 내어 반복하는 구성들을 통하여 우리의 삶 또한 반복되어 보이지만 결코 동일한 것을 되풀이 하는 것이 아니라는 것과 차이나 보이지만 결국 그것은 차이를 가진 반복에 불과함을 론도 형식과 음렬 이라는 음악적 소재를 사용하여 상징적으로 표현하였다. 그리고 도입부에 제시된 음정, 리듬요소들을 곡 전체를 통하여 변화, 발전시킴으로써 곡에 통일성을 부여 하였다. 본 작품의 분석연구를 통하여 작품의 구성에서 음악적 소재를 통하여 전개, 발전 되어진 반복의 상징성을 형식, 음렬 그리고 리듬을 중심으로 하여 그 특징을 살펴보고자 한다.;This thesis is an analyzed study on “The Repetitions” for String Quartet (2009) by Park Bo-kyoung. This work is for a performance of the graduate school of music, and was premiered at Kim Young-Eui Hall of Ewha Womans University on Nov. 13, 2009. My work of “The Repetitions” for String Quartet (2009) is a rondo-form (the second Rondo form) single movement, which is consisted of “Introduction-A-B-A'-C-A〃and composed based on the dodecaphony. The dictionary definition of "repetitions," which show in this composed work as a symbolic expression, mean "repeat the same thing." However, what this work likes to show is not repeating the same thing, but repeating the "different" things. In other words, it is symbolically expressed that our life doesn't seem to be repeated nor is something repeating the same thing, through the repetitive structure of differentiating the same things constantly into rondo-type and series. The whole music is consisted of repetitions of tones and main rhythms. The repetition of main rhythms is formed as combined and extract series in transposition of original series (Po), inversion, retrograde, retrograde-inversion, and hexachord and trichord, and the whole music is consisted of the main repetitive rhythms that are the fragmentary rhythms presented in the introduction are repeated in the forms of diminuendo and crescendo. The work has symmetrical structure of retrograding the beginning series with the last series, and the beginning tone is the same as the last one. This plays a symbolic role in meaning of many developed variations and repetitions. To develop variations in repetitions, it cohesively performs through crescendo, diminuendo, rearrangement, tempo, dynamic marks and sound effects.
