ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN CHINA AND UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

By examining the situation in the chemical industry of Uzbekistan and China with a focus on fertilizers, this thesis aims to highlight the economic relations and cooperation between the two countries. In particular, analyzing the situation in both countries in detail, it examines the historical background and the obstacles to economic cooperation between them. We observe that China and Uzbekistan are elucidating the goals and dynamics of their foreign trade policies since the 1990s, and are also assessing the impact of their strategies on the economic development and reforms in the partner country. As a result, China and Uzbekistan are increasing their ties. With a focus on the chemical industry, this thesis supports the importance of the economic cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.;이 논문은 우즈베키스탄과 중화인민공화국의 화학산업, 특히 비료산업을 심층적으로 분석함으로써 이들 양국의 경제발전과 양국간 경제협력의 가능성을 논의하였다. 이를 위해 이 논문은 양국에 있어서 화학산업 및 비료산업의 성장과 발전의 역사적 배경과 흐름을 고찰하고, 나아가 양국간 교역과 협력에 있어서 긍정적인 요인 그리고 장애요인을 분석하였다. 1990년대 이후 우즈베키스탄과 중국은 양국 공히 무역정책의 목표와 발전경로를 분명히 하고 이에 기반하여 교역관계를 공고히 하여 왔다. 양국의 교역관계에서 특히 화학산업 특히 비료산업은 양국의 부존자원, 발전단계, 국제교역량 등 제반 여건을 고려할 때, 가장 성장잠재력이 있고 양국의 교역을 통해서 최대의 경제적 효과를 얻을 수 있는 것으로 평가되었고 그에 따라 가장 중점적으로 육성되어온 바 있다. 21세기에도 양국간의 경제통상 및 경제협력은 더욱더 중요해질 것이며 이러한 인식하에 양국의 정부도 교역규모를 지속적으로 확대하며 경제협력을 증진시키고 있다. 전과 같이 화학산업 및 비료산업은 이러한 과정에서 특히나 중요하며 이러한 과정에서 노정되는 문제점과 장애요인이 분명히 존재하나, 양국은 이러한 문제점을 해결하고 부정적인 요인을 완화 내지 제거해 나가면서 경제협력을 더욱 확대해야 할 것이며, 단순한 경제통상을 넘어 궁극적으로는 보다 수준 높은 경제통합을 향해 양국이 적극 협조해 나가야 할 것이다.
