‘막장드라마’ 부차적 텍스트 연구

Abstract

This study took notice the 'Mak-Jang' drama that has been the subject of controversy in broadcasting. In order to comprehend the argument, to examine the articles of journal and the opinion of viewer were related with this controversy. This researcher had collected the connected newspaper articles and the impression of viewing by the case of drama 'The temptation of my wife' that had been in the center of the dispute of the 'Mak-Jang' drama and had analyzed. The result revealed that there are some different point of view between the journal and viewers for the 'Mak-Jang' drama. The journal sees the 'Mak-Jang' drama in the position of media and worries about the influences to the society, On the other hand, the audience just enjoys the excitement of it rather than analyze it in critical way. However when they fail to be immersed into the drama or when the conflicts in the drama are repeated constantly, they expressed their critical opinions aggressively. Meanwhile, as the meaning of the 'Mak-Jang' drama had been formed between the articles of journal and viewers in the light of the 'the Intertextuality'. So, this researcher had looked at the relationship between the articles of journal and the opinion of viewers. The result was that the journal and the viewer related inter-textually, and the each other to affect their discourses. The journal reported gossipy news for TV drama that can be create excitement to viewers for the 'Mak-Jang' drama. this is that journal can influence the viewer' s understanding of drama thereby playing as an effective and directed a guide, contributing to the development of the TV drama.;본 연구에서는 최근 방송계에서 논란이 되고 있는 막장드라마에 대해 주목하였다. 막장드라마 논란을 이해하기 위해 부차적 텍스트 분석을 하였다. 특히 막장드라마 논란에 중심에 서 있었던 드라마<아내의유혹>을 사례로 관련 신문 기사와 시청소감을 수집하였다. 신문텍스트는 인터넷판 종합일간지인 <조선닷컴>, <조인스닷컴>, <한국i닷컴>, <경향닷컴>을 분석 대상으로 삼았다. 시청소감 텍스트는 드라마 <아내의유혹> 공식홈페이지에 올라온 시청자 의견을 분석하였다 우선 신문 기사는 텔레비전 드라마임에도 불구하고 연예, 문화, 사회, 사설로 다양한 섹션에서 보도되고 있었다. 특히 <아내의유혹> 선정성 논란과 관련한 기사가 사회·사설 면에서 보도됨으로써, 텔레비전 드라마를 사회 문제로도 인식하고 있었다. 특히 표제의 범주와 논조를 살펴본 결과 언론은 <아내의유혹>을 인기드라마로 대우하면서도 막장드라마로도 분류하고 있었다. 이는 언론이 막장드라마를 ‘드라마’ 라는 픽션 장르 자체로 바라봤을 때는 다른 드라마들과 마찬가지로 ‘시청자들이 찾는’ ‘인기 있는’ 드라마로 논의하고 있었다. 또한, 드라마 관련 가십 기사를 보도하며 제작사와 방송사의 상업적 논리를 따라가고 있다. 그러나 드라마가 ‘미디어’로서 구분되어지면, 보다 심각한 태도로 사회적 영향력에 대해 지적하고 있었다. 반면 막장드라마에 대한 시청자의 시각은 전반적으로 부정적인 분위기를 보였다. 그러나 처음부터 비판적인 시각을 보였던 것은 아니다. 언론이 드라마 방영 초반부터 드라마에 대한 관심과 소재나 설정 등에 문제제기하며 사회적 문제를 제기해 왔다면, 시청자는 드라마 감상 몰입이 우선 이루어지며 막장드라마에 대해 긍정적 반응을 가졌다. <아내의유혹> 기존 다른 드라마들과 달리 빠른 전개를 보이며 비현실적인 설정 등을 담고 있었지만, 시청자들은 오히려 이를 흥미로운 현상으로 읽고 드라마에 몰입하였다. 또한 무엇보다 출연 배우의 연기에 드라마 감상의 즐거움을 얻고 있었다. 그러나 드라마가 후반부에 접어들고 방송 횟수가 연장되자, 극 속 설정 등이 무리하게 진행되었다. 시청자는 억지 전개 등에 대해 비판을 가했다. 이는 시청자가 드라마 감상 몰입에 실패함으로써 나타난 결과라고 볼 수 있다. 즉, 극 후반부에 억지설정의 잦은 반복은 결국 감상의 방해물로 작용되어진 것이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서 언론과 시청자의 막장드라마에 대한 시각의 차이가 존재하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, 언론과 시청자는 서로 상호작용하며 서로의 담론 생산에 있어 영향을 미치고 있었다. 언론은 드라마에 대한 소개 기사 등을 내보내 시청자들로 하여금 드라마에 관심을 갖게 만들고 있었다. 하지만 시청자들에게 잘못된 내용도 전달됨으로써 시청자 감상에 방해가 되기도 하였다.
