한국 풍경에 나타난 야생화 이미지를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

인간은 자연과 더불어 생활하면서 그 속에서 끊임없이 자아를 탐구하여 얻어지는 감흥을 예술작품으로 표현해 왔다. 자연은 우리에게 삶의 기반을 마련해 주고, 아름다움을 느낄 수 있게 하며, 예술적 영감과 창작 욕구를 불러일으킨다. 인간은 자연에서 태어나서 자연으로 돌아간다. 즉, 자연환경 속에서 자신의 존재감과 생명력을 확인하고, 심리적 안점감을 느끼게 된다. 또한, 자연에 대한 관심은 예술적 활동의 모태가 되고, 인간에게 생활의 터전이 되어 아름다움을 느낄 수 있는 무한한 대상을 제시한다. 그 중 한국인의 전통적인 유교 사상은 그 뿌리 깊으며 자연을 숭배하고 경애하며 살아왔다. 한국인은 예로부터 평화를 사랑하고 풍류를 즐겼으며 들과 산에 핀 자연속의 야생화를 감상하며 시를 읊고 노래를 불렀으며, 긴 겨울이 지나 봄이 오면 산과 들에 나와 꽃놀이를 하고 가을에는 야생화 향기를 마음껏 맡으며 자연을 감상하였다. 이렇듯 한국의 야생화는 자연합일과 무위 속에서 하나의 생명체로서 조화를 이루고 있다. 야생화는 구속되어져 있지 않은 생명력과 함께 자유분방함 속에서도 질서와 조화를 지닌 존재이며, 인간의 일상 속에서 정신적 위안을 제공한다. 그러므로 야생화는 소박하면서 은은한 모습으로 자연과 어우러져 아름다운 경치를 만들어낸다. 삭막해져가는 현대 사회는 현대인들에게 심리적 위안을 줄 수 있는 휴식처와 같은 공간을 필요로 하는데 있어서 자연의 역할은 점점 커져가고 있다. 이러한 사회전반의 현상들은 '웰빙'이라는 시대적 흐름에 맞추어 자연을 소재로 한 연구들이 많아지고 있는 추세이다. 이에 본 연구는 산업 개발에 밀려 점차 삭막해져가는 현대 사회 속에 연약해 보이지만 동시에 강인한 생명력을 지니고 있는 아름다운 한국의 야생화 이미지를 디자인의 모티브로 선정하였다. "사진으로 보는 아름다운 우리산하" 문순화 작의 사진집 이미지를 본 연구의 작품에 도입하여, 특히 산야에 자연스럽게 어우러져 집단적으로 서식하는 야생화의 이미지를 대상으로 하였다. 이렇듯 야생화의 이미지를 자연을 옮겨온 듯 작품에 표현하기 위하여 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 기법을 기본으로 이용하였고, 야생화의 이미지를 부각시키기 위하여 자수기법을 활용하였다. 풍경화와 같은 야생화 이미지를 그대로 표현하기 위하여 단순한 실루엣과 형태의 의상을 선택하였고, 색채는 야생화가 담겨있는 자연의 색채에서 인간의 시각에 좀 더 편안하게 다가 올 수 있도록 채도를 저채도로 전환 시켰고, 하늘의 파란색은 따뜻한 계열로 색상 전환 하였다. 비딩, 리본스티치, 펠트, 핫픽스, 매듭수등 자수기법을 적용해 야생화의 이미지를 강조해 주는 동시에 평면적인 DTP이미지에 풍부한 질감 효과를 부가 시켰다. 본 연구는 한국 산야에 집단적으로 서식하는 야생화 이미지를 모티브로 하여 DTP및 자수기법을 통해 의상에 자연의 이미지를 풍부하게 담아 디자인의 새로운 표현 세계를 제시함과 동시에 이를 통하여 심리적 웰빙을 구현함에 그 목적을 둔다. 연구의 내용으로는 첫째, 한국에 자생하는 야생화에 관한 고찰로 야생화에 대한 개념과 범주를 알아보고, 한국 야생화의 생태적 특징과 누구나 쉽게 한국의 야생화가 무엇인지를 알 수 있는 전반적인 내용과 한국의 자연 속에서 볼 수 있는 야생화의 종류와 계절별에 따른 분류 및 특징 등을 파악하였다. 또한, 야생화의 색채특성을 자연색체계(NCS)를 기반으로 측색하고 분석하여 살펴보았다. 둘째, 작품 제작을 위한 디자인 모티브의 이해를 위해 꽃과 디자인으로 의상에서 표현 될 수 있는 꽃 이미지의 표현방법 중 사실적 표현과 추상적 표현에 대한 내용을 알아보고, 꽃 이미지와 디자인으로 꽃의 이미지를 응용한 디자인 사례들을 작가들의 예술 작품들을 통하여 자료사진을 제시하여 그 방법을 다루었다. 또한 꽃의 이미지를 응용한 의상디자인 사례들은 컬렉션을 중심으로 꽃의 각각의 표현 방법과 형태 등에 따라 나누어 분석하였다. 작품제작에 있어서 표현기법으로는 한국의 자연 속에 어우러진 야생화의 느낌을 최대한 풍부하게 나타내기 위하여 '디지털 텍스타일 프린팅' 기법과 '자수'기법을 선택하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 산야에 자생하는 야생화의 다듬어지지 않은 순수한 자연미를 DTP기법을 통해 의상에 도입 했을 때 한 폭의 풍경화 같은 이미지를 줄 수 있었다. 둘째, 야생화의 색채를 분석한 결과 대부분 Warm계열의 밝고 선명한 색채를 띠고 있었다. 또한 이는 그린을 배경으로 하고 있어 강렬한 색채대비 현상을 보이는데 하늘과 초목을 포함한 야생화 이미지의 색채를 저채도로 전환시켜 의상에 적용한 결과 더욱 자연스럽고 시각적으로 편안함을 부여할 수 있었다. 셋째, 단순한 형태의 의상디자인에 모티브를 적용 했을 때 자연 속에 담겨진 야생화의 이미지가 효과적으로 부각됨을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 모티프 표현에 있어서 반투명 소재를 부분적으로 사용한 결과 입체적 공간감을 표현 할 수 있었다. 다섯째, DTP로 출력한 평면적인 꽃의 이미지에 비딩, 펠팅, 매듭수, 리본 스티치 등 자수기법을 응용하여 부조적 질감과 그에 따른 생동감을 표현할 수 있어 주제를 효과적으로 부각시킬 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 꽃 중에서도 한국의 야생화 이미지를 응용한 의상을 제작함에 있어서 한국적인 자연의 미를 현대 패션에 접목하여 새로운 표현 세계를 제시함과 동시에 이를 통하여 현대인들의 심리적 웰빙을 구현하고자 하였다. 또한 야생화란 특수성 때문에 직접적 시각체험에 한계가 있었음을 밝히며 야생화의 독특한 멋을 다양한 기법으로 디자인에 접목하여 표현의 세계를 확대시키는 후속연구가 계속되기 바란다.;The nature of humans where we live together we obtain a continuous inspiration to explore our selves to express work as art.
