남녀 대학생의 완벽주의와 분노표현양식의 관계

Abstract

외부의 완벽주의 신념이 내재화되는 청소년 후기 즉, 대학생시기에는 치열한 경쟁사회 속에서 완벽주의가 부적응적으로 작용할 가능성이 있다. 완벽주의에 대한 다차원적 접근이 시작되면서 완벽주의와 적응, 부적응의 관계에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되었다. 특히 최근에는 완벽주의와 분노표현양식의 관계 연구가 시작되었는데 그 결과가 약하거나 비 일관적인 경우들이 많았다. 따라서 완벽주의와 분노표현양식의 관계를 조절하는 제 3의 변인들에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 특성분노 및 분노표현양식과의 연구에서 일관적인 결과들을 보고한 ‘애착’을 조절변인으로 상정하여 완벽주의와 분노표현양식과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 그리고 애착차원과 분노표현양식에서 성차가 보고됨에 따라 남녀 집단으로 나누어 분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 애착차원, 분노표현양식에서 유의미한 성차가 나타났다. 자세히 살펴보면 애착회피와 분노조절의 경우 남자 대학생이, 분노억제의 경우 여자 대학생이 더욱 높은 수준을 보였다. 그러나 완벽주의에서는 유의미한 성차가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 남녀 모두 완벽주의 하위요인간의 유의미한 정적상관이 나타났고, 사회부과적 완벽주의와 분노억제 간의 유의한 정적 상관이 나타났으며 애착회피와 분노억제 간, 애착불안과 분노억제 간 유의한 정적상관이 나타났다. 셋째, 성별에 따라 완벽주의 하위요인과 애착차원 하위요인 중 각각의 분노표현양식을 유의미하게 예측하는 변인이 무엇인지 비교하기 위해 단계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 분노표출의 경우 남자 대학생은 애착불안, 애착회피, 여자 대학생은 애착불안, 자기 지향적 완벽주의, 타인 지향적 완벽주의가 유의하였다. 분노억제의 경우 남자 대학생은 애착불안, 애착회피, 자기 지향적 완벽주의, 여자 대학생은 애착불안, 애착회피, 자기 지향적 완벽주의, 타인 지향적 완벽주의가 유의하였다. 분노조절의 경우 남자 대학생은 애착불안, 자기 지향적 완벽주의, 타인 지향적 완벽주의, 여자 대학생은 애착회피, 자기 지향적 완벽주의, 타인 지향적 완벽주의가 유의하였다. 넷째, 성별에 따라 완벽주의 하위요인과 분노표현양식의 관계에서 애착차원 하위요인의 조절효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 남자 대학생의 경우 모든 상호작용이 유의미하지 않았다. 하지만 여자 대학생의 경우 분노표출에 대한 타인 지향적 완벽주의와 애착불안의 상호작용, 분노조절에 대한 타인 지향적 완벽주의와 애착회피의 상호작용이 유의하게 나타났다. 연구결과를 종합해보면 타인 지향적 완벽주의 성향이 높은 여자대학생에게 높은 애착불안은 분노표출을 강화하는 위험요인으로 작용하고, 타인 지향적 완벽주의가 낮은 여자 대학생에게 낮은 애착회피는 분노조절을 강화하는 보호요인으로 작용함을 알 수 있다.;The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship perfectionism, attachment dimension and anger expression style, and to investigate the moderation effect of attachment dimension in these relationship. The subjects for this study were 600(300 boys, 300 girls) undergraduates at the 12 universities in seoul. They completed Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(MPS), Experience of Close Relationship(ECR) and State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory(STAXI). The data were analyzed with t-test, Pearson's correlation, stepwise regression, hierarchical regression and one-way ANOVA by SPSS 12.0. The Results of the study are as follows: 1. There were no significant gender differences on perfectionism. But there were significant gender differences on attachment dimension and anger expression style. In the concrete, attachment avoidance and anger control level were significantly higher in boys' group. And anger in level was significantly higher in girls' group. 2. There were significantly positive correlations among subscales of perfectionism. And socially prescribed perfectionism, attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety were positively related to anger in. 3. To examine the power of prediction of variable to anger expression style, data was analyzed by stepwise regression. In boys' group, attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger out. attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance and self oriented perfectionism significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger in. attachment anxiety, self oriented perfectionism and other oriented perfectionism significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger control. In girls' group, attachment anxiety, self oriented perfectionism and other oriented perfectionism significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger out. attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, self oriented perfectionism and other oriented perfectionism significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger in. attachment avoidance, self oriented perfectionism and other oriented perfectionism significantly contributed to the prediction of the anger control. 4. To examine the moderation effect of attachment dimension, data was analyzed by hierarchical regression and one-way ANOVA. In boys' group, the moderation effect of attachment dimension was non-significant. In girls' group, attachment anxiety moderated the relation between other oriented perfectionism and anger out. And attachment avoidance moderated the relation between other oriented perfectionism and anger control.
