한국 미인형 비례에 기준한 고전누드화의 패러디 표현연구

Abstract

종족보존이 우선시되던 시대부터 오늘날에 이르기까지 미인의 기준은 시대의 변화나 유행에 따라 변화를 거듭해 왔다. 일반적으로‘미인’이란 용모가 아름다운 여자를 의미한다. 미인의 기준은 시대, 문화, 지역, 사회 등에 따라 상이하며, 한 시대, 문화, 지역, 사회 안에서도 모든 개인에게 하나의 미인상이 공인되진 않는다. "미" 즉 아름다움이란 어디까지나 추상적이고 주관적이며 비현실적인 의미이기 때문이다. 따라서 미인을 평가하는 관점을 일반화시켜 규정짓기는 어려우나, 적어도 한 시대가 평가하는 미인상의 일반적인 특징은 어느 정도 공통된 수치와 비율을 바탕으로 한다. 일반적으로 그 공통된 미인상의 비율과 수치는 이상적인 신체 및 얼굴비례에 대한 구체적인 기준으로서, 그 수치에 근접할 때 이를 전형적인“미인”이라 할 수 있다. 현재 미인의 기준은 서구화되기 시작하면서 큰 키와 작은 얼굴 등을 선호하고 한국 과거의 전통적인 미인형과 점차 차이를 보이게 되었으며 서양인에 가까운 서구적인 비례가 기준이 되고 있다. 이러한 비례는 물리학적으로 가장 안정적이라고 하는 황금비율을 반영하며 성형학적으로 가장 이상적인 미인의 비례이다. 이러한 이상적인 비례가 현실적으로 한국에서 이상적인 미의 기준으로 적용되는가를 알기위해 우리나라의 공식 미인대회인 미스코리아 대회에서 최근 2000년부터 2009년까지 10년간 입상한 수상자들을 표본으로 얼굴 비례 및 신체비례를 조사한 결과 실제 황금비가 적용되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 1940년대 이상적인 몸매에 대한 이상향으로서 Pin-up girl이 등장하였다. 그러나 훨씬 이전 엄격한 중세시대를 거쳐 르네상스 시대로 접어들면서 종교와 신화를 바탕으로 한 이상적인 몸매를 보여주는 많은 누드화 작품이 그려지기 시작했다. 이 당시의 미술은 누드를 보여주고는 싶으나, 성적인 분위기를 대놓고 표출할 수 없던 시기였으므로 그 대상을 신으로 표현하고 신화에서 이루어지는 이야기로 인체의 아름다움이나 비례를 그대로 드러내어 주 감상자인 남성의 성(性)적 욕구를 공공연히 만족시켜 주는 수단으로 사용되었다. Pin-up girl 역시 여성의 이상향 즉, 과장되긴 했으나 아름다운 여성의 인체 비례미와 매력을 직설적인 성적인 뉘앙스를 풍기며 징집된 군인들이 Pin-up girl사진이나 그림을 벽이나 사물함 등에 핀으로 고정시켜 꽂아 두는 것으로 유행하게 되었다. Pin-up girl과 고전누드화는 이상적인 몸매에 대한 추구라고 할 수 있으며 신체전반적인 누드의 표현과 형식화된 포즈 표현 부분에서 유사한 점을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 신체비례와 얼굴비례를 왜곡 및 과장한 ‘비현실적’인 비례가 아니라 현대의 한국미인의 실제 평균비례인 ‘현실적’인 비례를 기반으로 작품을 표현하고자 하였다. 아울러 고전 누드화의 간접적인 성적 표현성과 Pin-up girl의 직접적인 성적 표현성의 치환을 의도한다. 이는 고전 누드화 작품을 바탕으로 원작 속 대상의 구조적 형식성과 Pin-up girl의 성적 매력의 소구를 조화롭게 재구성하여 현대적인 시각으로의 새로운 해석을 통해 재창조하며 새로운 의미를 부여하는 패러디(Parody)로서의 표현인 것이다. 본 연구는 현실적인 비례를 기준한 현대 한국 미인형 일러스트레이션 표현을 하는 그 실 예로써 의의를 두며 무엇보다 고전과 Pin-up girl의 특성을 치환하여 표현함으로써 서로 의미적인 속성이 섞이면서 의미상의 충돌을 보여주는 것이 본 연구의 작품이 가지는 특성이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 좀 더 현실성에 기반을 둔 미인형의 전형을 알아볼 수 있으며, 본 연구자는 향후 그에 따라 비교적 왜곡되지 않은 미적 기준을 담은 다양한 패러디 일러스트 작품을 진행해 나가고자 한다.;From the times when the instinct of preservation of species took precedence up to these days, the criteria of beauties have varied depending on changes of the times or the fashion. In general, ‘a beauty’ means a good-looking woman. The criteria of a beauty vary depending on the times, culture, region, and society, and even within particular times, culture, region, and society, just one image of a beauty is not officially recognized. It is because ‘beauty” i.e. being beautiful always has abstract, subjective, and unrealistic meaning. So the viewpoint of evaluating a beauty is hard to be generalized and defined but, at least, general characteristics of image of a beauty evaluated in an era are based on a certain degree of common numerical value and ratio. In general, common ratio and numerical value of an image of a beauty are concrete criteria of ideal body and face proportion and when one approaches this numerical value, one can be called a typical ‘beauty.’ Currently, as the criteria of a beauty began to be westernized, tall height and small face are preferred, so the criteria have been differing from those of Korean traditional types of beauties, and Western proportions similar to Westerners have become the criteria. Such proportions reflect the golden ratio which is said to be physically the most stable, and the most ideal proportion of beauty in terms of plastic surgery. In order to examine whether such ideal proportions are actually applied in Korea as the criteria of the ideal beauty, survey on the prize winners of the Miss Korea Beauty Contest for 10 years from the period of from 2000 to 2009 with regard to facial and bodily proportions was conducted and the results of the survey showed that the golden proportion was found to be applicable. In the 1940s, pin-up girls showed up as an Utopia of ideal figure. But long before this, as passing trough the strict Middle Age and the Renaissance period, lots of nude works of art began to be drawn based on the religion and mythology. The fine arts at that time was used as a means to satisfy the sexual desires of men who were main appreciators by expressing the beauty and proportions of human body based on mythology since in those periods, the sexual atmosphere was not allowed to be openly expressed. Pin-up girls were a Utopia regarding women, although exaggerated, and expressed beautiful women bodies and the beauty and charm of proportion with straightforward sexual nuance, and became popular as conscripted soldiers pinned up the photos or pictures of beautiful women bodies on the walls or their lockers of personal belongings. Pin-up girls and classical nude pictures can be said to be a pursuit of ideal human bodies and they are similar in that they represent overall nude expression and formalized posture expression. This research attempted to describe actual average proportions of modern Korean beauties based on ‘realistic’ proportions, rather than on ‘unrealistic’ proportion where bodily proportions and facial proportions are distorted and exaggerated. Also the transposition of indirect sexual expression of classical nudes and direct sexual expression of pin-up girls are intended. This is the expression as a parody that restructures structural formalities of the objects of original works of art based on classical nudes and recreates the sexual attractiveness of pin-up girls through new interpretation into modern perspective and gives new meaning. This research is meaningful as an actual example that represents illustration expression of modern Korean beauties based on realistic proportions and, above all, the characteristics of this research are to show the clash of meanings in the mixture of meanings by transposition of the characteristics of classical nudes and pin-up girls. Through this research, typical beauty can be grasped on a more realistic basis, and accordingly this researcher will perform diverse parody-illustrated works that contain relatively undistorted criteria of beauty.
