성만찬에 관한 신학적 이해 연구

Abstract

The theme of this study is theological understanding on the Eucharist, mainly on the basis of the BEM document of W.C.C. the historical meaning of the Eucharist is reinterpreted in relation to the present world today. According to the New Testament, the Eucharist means our participation in the body and blood of Jesus Christ. And the participation in the body and blood of Jesus Christ is the participation as self-sacrifice and as self-sharing with all humankind. For this study, historical survey on the Eucharist has been dealt; the interpretations of the Eucharist in the Medieval Church and the Reformation. In the Medieval Church, the Eucharist was clericalized and the real meaning of the Eucharist as the participation in Jesus Christ was minimized. Reformers rejected that. And they tried to reinterpret the meaning of Eucharist on the basis o f the New Testament. They restored the meaning of Jesus Christ and the communion o f the community, sharing and love. But the Reformers were divided because of the controversy about the mode of presence of Christ in the eucharistic celebration. BEM's Eucharist has tried to synthesize Catholic and protestant interpretations concerning the Eucharist. BEM's interpretation tries to make the meaning of the Eucharist for the world today. But it has not considered our 3rd world situation. BEM's Eucharist was tended to remain with in the Western Christian traditions. Korean church seldom celebrates the Eucharist and the theology of the Eucharist is not considered in general. But Nowadays there are some efforts for Eucharistic theology. There are understanding of the Eucharist as the communion of the church community, sharing, love and also in relation to people outside the church. We need to realize the concrete meaning of the Eucharist. Because the body o f Jesus Christ that we participate in is not abstract but concrete. In conclusion, the meaning of the Eucharist is Solidarity of the church community and all humanity, sharing of material benefits of created world.; 본 연구는 성만찬에 관한 신학적 이해를 주제로 삼고 있다. 즉 오늘에 있어서 교회의 성만찬은 어떤의미를 지니고 있으며, 어떻게 이해되어야 하는가를 다루고 있다. 성서적 근거에 의하면, 성만찬은 예수그리스도의 몸과 피에 참여하는 것이고, 예수그리스도의 몸과 피에 참여함은 그의 희생적인 나눔의 삶에 참여하는 것이고, 공동체의 하남됨을 의미하는 것이다. 그렇다면 예수 그리스도의 몸과 피에의 참여는 오늘날 어떻게 구체화 될 수 있는가? 이 연구를 위하여 역사적으로 교회는 성만찬을 어떻게 이해 하였는지를 고찰하였다. 먼저, 중세 카톨릭의 성만찬이해를 살펴보았다. 중세 카톨릭의 성만찬은 화체론(실체변화설)과 희생제사적 성격이 성만찬을 대변하는데, 성만찬의 이러한 성격은 중세 성만찬이 사제중심으로 교권화 되었으며, 형식적인 의례로 전락했음을 잘 말해준다. 이에대한 종교개혁의 비판은 중세성만찬의 왜곡상을 잘 드러내어준다. 중세카톨릭에 대한 비판으로부터 시작된 종교개혁의 성만찬은 성만찬의 공동체적 교제ㆍ나눔ㆍ형제애의 의미를 발견한다. 그러나 그들의 치열한 그리스도 임재양식에 관한 논쟁으로, 거의 가리워졌던 의미이다. 종교개혁의 그러한 성만찬이해는 WCC의 BEM 문서의 성만찬 이해에서 재발견된다. BEM의 성만찬은 성만찬의 삼위일체적 의미와 성만찬의 세계내적 의미를 강조하고 있다. 그리하여 성만찬의 공동체적 교제ㆍ나눔ㆍ형제애로의 의미를 강조한다. 그러나 BEM의 성만찬이해는 제3세계 현실에서의 성만찬의미 구체화라는 과제를 해결하기에는 한계적이다. 이에 예수그리스도, 초대교회, 신학전통에서 그 연속성을 지니는 성만찬의 교제ㆍ나눔ㆍ형제애로의 의미를 구체화 시키려는 장으로 한국교회의 성만찬이해를 검토하였다. 결론적으로, 오늘에 구체화될 수 있는 성만찬의 의미는, 교제와 형제애의 구체화로서의 공동체적 연대 그리고 나눔의 구체화로서의 경제적 혜택임을 밝혔다.
