M. Ravel의 Piano Sonatine에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study is of an analysis of the Piano Sonatine by M. Ravel(1875-1937) among the works performed at my graduation recital, and aims at presenting the work's characteristics and the necessary scholarly basis for understanding the composer's music through a structural analysis of it. The content of the study included a classification of the characteristics of the composer's piano works and an analysis of them by which representing characteristics of Revel's music it could be helped to understand it. M. Ravel's piano sonatine as work of classical trend takes a form that is classical but similiarity with impressionism can be found in terms of chord. Also, distinct melody line, arranged rhythm, use of mode and the use of 7 and 9 interval paralleling chord are techniques representing his uniqueness. The thematic motive presented in the 1st movement appears cyclically in the whole three movements and has a unity go-between each movement. The 2nd movement as a sonatine form where developmental part is abbreviated represents 1st and 2nd themes of similiar melody line. And the 3rd movement showes the thematic motive of the 1st movement often appears as short variations. As the overall characteristic of the work, repetition of short motives and paralleling chord of 4 and 5 interval appear, and distinct rhythm and clear thematic melody are characteristical.;본 논문은 필자의 대학원 졸업연주회에서 연주된 작품 중에서 Maurice Ravel (1875-1937)의 Piano Sonatine를 연구한 것이다. 이 연구는 작품의 구조적 분석을 통하여 작품의 특징과 필요한 학문적 근거를 제시함으로써 작곡가의 음악을 이해하고 이 작품을 연주하는데 도움을 주기 위한 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 내용은 작곡가의 Piano 작품 특징과 작품분석을 분류하였고 작품 분석을 통해 Ravel 음악의 특징을 제시함으로써 이해에 도움이 되도록 하였다. M. Ravel의 Piano Sonatine는 고전주의 경향의 작품으로서 형식은 고전적이나 화성면에서는 인상주의와의 유사성을 찾아 볼 수 있다. 또한, 선율형의 명확성과 정돈된 리듬, 선법의 사용과 7도 9도 병행화음 사용은 그의 독창성이 나타나는 어법이다. 제1악장에서 제시된 주제동기가 3악장 전체에 순환적으로 나타나며 각 악장간에 통일성을 주고 있다. 제2악장은 발전부가 생략된 Sonatine 형식으로서 비슷한 음형의 제1, 2주제가 제시, 재현된다. 제3악장에서는 제1악장 주제동기가 짧은 변형으로서 자주 나타나며 선법사용이 두드러진다. 전체적인 작품특성으로는 짧은 동기의 반복, 4도 5도 8도의 병행화음이 타나나며 명확한 리듬과 뚜렷한 주제선율이 특징적이다.
