반복형 접속어미 연구

Abstract

본고는 현대국어 반복형 접속어미 구성의 통사·의미적 특성에 대한 전반적인 고찰을 목표로 하고 있다. 여기에서 말하는 반복형 접속어미란, 동일한 접속어미가 반복되어 나오면서 여러 절들을 이어주되 종국에는 상위문에 내포되는 형식을 말한다. 제Ⅰ장에서는 먼저 문제 제기와 함께 반복형 접속어미에 대한 종래의 연구들을 검토하였다. 그 이후에는 이를 바탕으로 연구 대상을 한정하였는데, 본고의 연구 대상이 되는 반복형 접속어미 목록에는 ‘-고 ~ -고’, ‘-(으)며 ~ -(으)며’, ‘-(으)면서 ~ -(으)면서’, ‘-거나 ~ -거나’, ‘-든지 ~ -든지’, ‘-(으)나 ~ -(으)나’, ‘-아도 ~ -아도’, ‘-다가 ~ -다가’들이 속하게 되었다. 제Ⅱ장에서는 반복형 접속어미가 이루는 구성을 접속어미 혹은 접속문 전반과 관련지어 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 먼저 접속어미의 개념과 종류에 대해 생각하여 보고, 이와 관련하여 반복형 접속어미가 과연 어떠한 구성을 이루고 있는지에 대해 알아보았다. 이때 S₁과 S₂의 자리바꿈이나 S₁의 이동 등의 기제를 통해 반복형 접속어미 구성에서 S₁과 S₂가 대등 접속을 이루고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 대등 접속을 이룬 이들 S₁과 S₂는 다시 상위문에 내포되는데, 이 때문에 접속어미들이 단순히 되풀이 되는 구문과 통사·의미적 차이를 갖는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 제Ⅲ장에서는 앞서 Ⅱ장에서 살펴본 대로 단일 구성을 이룰 경우에 대등 접속어미나 종속 접속어미로 기능하던 것들이 반복형 접속어미 구성을 이룰 경우에는 S₁과 S₂가 대등 접속을 보이며 상위에 내포되는 사실을 중시하여 그것들을 단일 구성의 접속어미와 관련되는 양상에 따라 둘로 나누었다. 이때 대등 접속어미와 관련을 보이는 반복형 접속어미에는 ‘-고 ~ -고’, ‘-거나 ~ -거나’, ‘-든지 ~ -든지’, ‘-(으)며 ~ -(으)며’, ‘-(으)면서 ~ -(으)면서’가 속하고 종속 접속어미와 관련을 보이는 반복형 접속어미에는 ‘-아도 ~ -아도’, ‘-(으)나 ~ -(으)나’, ‘-다가 ~ -다가’가 속하였다. 그 이후에 단일 구성을 이루는 접속어미와의 연관성을 살피면서 반복형 접속어미 각각의 개별적 통사 특성에 대해 살펴보았다. 제Ⅳ장에서는 반복형 접속어미의 의미에 대해 알아보았다. 논의의 결과, 반복형 접속어미 ‘-고 ~ -고’, ‘-(으)며 ~ -(으)며’, ‘-(으)면서 ~ -(으)면서’는 ‘나열’의 의미를 나타나며, ‘-거나 ~ -거나’, '-든지 ~ -든지', ‘-(으)나 ~ -(으)나’는 ‘선택’의 의미를 나타내는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 ‘-아도 ~ -아도’는 ‘강조’의 의미를 드러내며, ‘-다가 ~ -다가’는 ‘반복적 전환’의 의미를 드러내는 것으로 판명되었다. 제 Ⅴ장에서는 앞서의 논의들을 종합·정리하였다.;This thesis is an attempt to clarify repetition conjunctors in Korean. Repetition conjunctors are the repeat of same conjunctors, and which are, at last, embedded by higher sentence. In chapter Ⅰ, the preceding studies on this subject are reviewed. I recognized the problems and classified the issues on the study. '-ko ~ -ko', '-(eu)myeo ~ -(eu)myeo', '-(eu)myeonseo ~ -(eu)myeonseo', '-keona ~ -keona', '-deunji ~ -deunji', '-(eu)na ~ -(eu)na', '-ado ~ -ado', and '-daga ~ -daga' are repetition conjunctors which are dealt with in this study. In chapter Ⅱ, I investigate the structure of repetition conjunctors relating to conjunctors and conjunctive sentence. First, I define the concept and the type of repetition conjunctors. After that, I clarify how they are made. In this process, we find out that S₁and S₂ are coordinately related, through the swapping S₁with S₂ and the movement of S₁. And there are synthetic/semantic differences between the sentence structure having the repetition conjunctor and that having conjunctors which are just repeated because S₁and S₂ which are coordinately related, are embedded by higher sentence. Chapter Ⅲ deals with synthetic properties of each repetition conjunctor and singular conjunctors. According to this, repetition conjunctors classified into two ones which are connected with coordinating/subordinating conjunctors. The former examples are '-ko ~ -ko', '-keona ~ -keona', '-deunji ~ -deunji', '-(eu)myeo ~ -(eu)myeo', '-(eu)myeonseo ~ -(eu)myeonseo' and the latter examples are '-ado ~ -ado', '-(eu)na ~ -(eu)na', and '-daga ~ -daga'. In chapter Ⅳ, I examine the meaning of repetition conjunctors. After considering, I reached this conclusion.
