포트폴리오를 활용한 진로교육이 인문계 여자고등학생의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a career education program designed to help academic girls high school students and to verify its effects on students' career maturation. This program referred to programs in the previous studies by Mae-Hyang Hwang et al(2005). Hyun-Lim Lee et al(2003) and Suk-Min Chang(2001) when formulating worksheet of the step 1 to step 5 and it was developed after much consultation with career counseling experts. The program had an aim in helping students to explore actively and to set a self-directed planning so that students consequently can improve one's career maturation. The study focused on making the purpose and contents of the program in line with the subscale of the career maturation test. The participants were academic girls high school students in Seoul. The differences, derived from pretest and the posttest of the students, were investigated in terms of attitude, ability and behavior scale after participating the program for a year. Moreover, the assumption of study is that first, second and third graders in identified school were cohort groups. Under the assumption, individual, environment and psychological factors are controllable. This study compared the difference between measured groups, which are first graders in 2007 and second graders in 2008, to comparative groups, which are first graders in 2008 and third graders in 2008. The results derived from measured groups show significant increase in the sub-scales of the career maturation independence, attitude toward working, planning ability, self-awareness, access to information and decision making ability and career exploration and preparatory behavior among students who participated the program. Measured groups showed significant difference from comparative groups who did not participated in the program. The analysis of the participants' evaluation of the program also indicated meaningful result that 85% to 95% of the respondents marked on the positive respondence to the questions on how much they were satisfied with the program, whether they would recommend this program to others and whether it would necessary to include the program in the high school curriculum. Thus both subjective satisfaction rate of participants and statistical results verify the effect of the program. This study has an implication in that the career education program is developed by the researcher who is carrying out the program at school and in the distinction from previous studies, which focused on identifying relationship between individual, environment and psychological factors, to verify adolescents' career maturation. In addition, this study adopted a career portfolio to run the program effectively. The participants systematically collected the data using the career portfolio that show their progress and achievement, which made possible for them to search actively and prepare their career path. According to Eun-Jin Oh, Sun-Mi Shin(2005), academic girls high school students are going through the time when they have to decide their course. Accordingly, this study is meaningful since it offered the participants to get exposed to various information and take plenty of time to explore their career path.;본 연구는 인문계 여자고등학생을 대상으로 실제 학교현장에 도움이 될 수 있는 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 실시하여 학생들의 진로성숙에 미치는 영향에 대해 파악함으로써 그 효과성을 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 본 프로그램은 워크시트 Step 1부터 Step 5까지의 내용을 구성하는데 있어 황매향 등(2005), 이현림 등(2003), 장석민(2001)의 국내 진로교육 관련 선행연구들을 참고하였으며 진로상담전문가의 도움을 받아 수정 및 제작하였다. 무엇보다 학생들이 자기 주도적으로 진로를 탐색하고 계획함으로써 개개인의 진로성숙도가 향상되는 것을 목적으로 구성하였으며 연구 도구로 사용된 진로성숙도 검사의 각 하위영역과 본 프로그램의 목표 및 구성내용과의 연관성을 높이는 것에 초점을 두었다. 연구대상은 서울에 위치한 E여자고등학교에 재학 중인 인문계 여자고등학생으로 포트폴리오를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램을 처치집단에게 1년 간 실시한 후, 사전 사후검사의 태도, 능력, 행동 척도에서 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 살펴보았다. 또한 같은 학교 1학년, 2학년, 3학년 학생들이 동시집단임을 전제하여 개인, 환경, 심리적 변인들이 통제 가능한 것으로 보았다. 이 중 처치집단인 2007학년도 1학년과 2008학년도 2학년 학생들의 진로성숙도를 측정하고, 비교집단인 2008학년도 1학년과 2008학년도 3학년 학생들의 진로성숙도를 측정하여 그 차이를 비교하였다. 자료 분석 결과 포트폴리오를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램에 참여한 처치집단은 독립성, 일에 대한 태도, 계획성, 자기이해, 정보활용 및 의사결정 능력, 진로탐색 및 준비행동의 각 하위 영역에 해당하는 진로성숙도가 유의미하게 증가하였고 이는 진로교육을 받지 않은 비교집단과 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 또 본 프로그램에 대한 평가지 분석 결과에서도 프로그램의 전반적인 내용이나 진행형식에 대한 만족도, 권유정도, 고등학교 교육과정에서의 활용에 대한 필요성 인식 정도 등을 묻는 문항에서 응답자의 85%~95% 이상이 약간 그렇다, 매우 그렇다 등의 긍정적인 응답을 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발한 진로교육 프로그램은 연구 대상자의 주관적인 만족도뿐만 아니라 통계적으로도 유의미한 결과를 도출하여 그 효과성이 입증된 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 청소년의 진로성숙과 관련하여 개인, 환경, 심리적 변인들과의 관계를 규명하는 것이 대부분이었던 기존 연구들과는 달리, 본 연구는 인문계 여자고등학생을 대상으로 포트폴리오를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 실제 고등학교 현장에서 연구자가 직접 실시하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 그리고 효과적인 프로그램의 진행을 위해서 진로 포트폴리오(career portfolio)를 도입하였다. 이를 통해 학생들이 일정 기간에 걸쳐 자신의 진로탐색 과정과 성취를 알 수 있게 하는 결과물을 체계적으로 수집해 나감으로써 능동적으로 진로를 탐색하고 준비할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 본 연구의 연구대상인 인문계 여자고등학생들은 계열선택을 해야 하는 중요한 시기에 있고 오은진, 신선미(2005)의 선행연구에 따르면 특정 분야에 편중된 진로선택을 하는 경향성이 있는데, 본 프로그램을 통해 이들에게 다양한 정보를 접하고 충분한 탐색의 시간을 가질 수 있도록 하였다는 측면에서 의의가 있다.
