Franz Peter Schubert의 『Piano sonata in c-minor, D.958』에 관한연구

Abstract

Schubert was the representative of a pre-romanticism composer who created a unique timbre through a beautiful melody and an effective harmonic change by combining the form of classicism and the lyrical melody of romanticism. During 31 years of his life, the great artist composed wide range of 600 art songs including, string quartets symphony, church song, operaand instrumental works. The piano which was well developed among instrumental music has grownup to the important part of the music, among them piano the sonata expressed the musical emotion of Schubert. A total of 23 piano sonatas were made with 11 out of them completed. Categorizing completed 11 piano sonatas by period, it can be divided into three parts, which are early of three works, middle of five works, and late stage of three works. This thesis analyzes the D.958 in C minor, a piano sonata that belongs to the first of his late period. It is composed of four movements. The first movement is a sonata form with the second being a song form whereas the third movement is a combination of minuet and trio with the fourth being a rondo form. The main theme melody is not a development of the theme of an imitative counterpoint melody use in classic sonata but a sequential progress of the lyrical melody. Compared to that of the classic sonata form, the melody of romanticism sonata was prolonged. Various rhythm, harmony and tonality were used for the simple change of melody. Schubert used dotted rhythm, triplet, cross-rhythm and repeating melody tenuto. Moreover various harmonies such as augmented sixth chord, neapolitan sixth chord, diminished seventh chord an altered chord and a borrowed chord were effectively utilized. He used not only a chromatic scale modulation, an enharmonic modulation and a diatonic scale modulation but also an abrupt direct modulation. Schubert piano sonata shows the nature of the music of romanticism now that he provided tension to it through the abrupt change of dynamics in such a way as to dramatically contrast a strong rhythm with a weak one and to use a sudden pause. Schubert successfully opened a new chapter of the romantic music of the 19th century as he combined the inclination of romanticism through lyrical melody and creative harmony on the basis of the form of classicism. Through ananalytical research of piano sonata D. 958 in C minor, this study wants to consider distinctive musical special feature of Schubert and its importance of art value.;슈베르트(Franz Peter Schubert, 1797-1828)는 낭만주의 초기에 속하는 작곡가로써, 고전주의 형식을 바탕으로 낭만적인 서정성을 지닌 아름다운 선율과 다양한 화성의 변화를 나타낸 초기 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가이다. 31년의 짧은 생애 동안 600곡에 달하는 예술가곡을 작곡하였고 실내악곡, 교향곡, 교회음악, 오페라, 기악곡 등의 작품도 작곡했다. 기악곡 중에서 발달된 피아노로 인하여 피아노 음악이 차지하는 비중이 커졌으며, 그 중에서 피아노 소나타는 슈베르트의 음악적 정서를 잘 표현하고 있다. 피아노 소나타는 모두 23곡이 작곡 되었지만 11곡만이 완성되었다. 완성된 11곡의 소나타를 시기별로 구분하면 초기의 3곡, 중기의 5곡, 후기의 3곡으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서 연구하는 소나타 D.958 c단조는 후기 피아노 소나타 중 첫 작품으로 이 소나타의 형식을 살펴보면 4악장 구성으로 제 1악장은 소나타 형식, 제 2악장은 가요형식, 제 3악장은 미뉴엣과 트리오, 제 4악장은 론도 형식을 취하는 것으로 고전주의 소나타의 형식을 따르고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 한편, 주제선율은 고전주의 소나타의 모방 대위적 선율사용으로 주제가 발전되는 것이 아닌 서정적 선율의 순차진행으로 낭만주의 소나타는 고전주의 소나타에 비해 선율의 길이가 길어지게 되었다. 단순한 선율의 변화를 위하여 다양한 리듬과 화성 그리고 조성을 사용했다. 붓점리듬, 셋잇단음적리듬, 교차리듬, 지속음적리듬을 사용했고, 증6화음(Augmented 6th chord), 네아폴리탄 6화음(neapolitan 6th chord), 감7화음(diminish 7th chord), 변화화음(altered chord), 차용화음(borrowed chord) 등 다양한 화성을 사용했다. 반음계적 전조와 이명 동음적 전조, 온음계적 전조뿐만 아니라 갑작스런 직접 전조를 사용했으며, 다이나믹에서도 급작스런 강약의 대조를 보이고, 갑작스러운 휴지부의 사용으로 슈베르트 피아노 소나타는 낭만주의 음악적 성향을 잘 나타내고 있다. 슈베르트는 고전주의적인 형식위에 서정적인 선율, 다양한 화성과 조성의 사용으로 낭만주의 음악적인 요소가 더해져, 19세기 낭만주의 음악의 새로운 장을 열었다. 본 논문은 피아노 소나타 D. 958, c단조의 분석적 연구를 통해 슈베르트의 독창적인 음악적 특징을 살펴보고 그 중요성과 예술적 가치를 고찰해 보고자 한다.
