Johannes Brahms의 오르간 음악에 관한 연구

Abstract

교향곡과 피아노음악을 쓴 대가로서 낭만주의 시대의 대표적인 작곡가인 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)는 요한 세바스찬 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750), 루트비히 판 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)의 영향으로 낭만주의의 화려한 시대에 있어 고전파음악의 전통을 지킴으로써, 그의 소수의 오르간 작품(코랄 전주곡, 전주곡, 푸가)에서도 과거의 형식들과 작곡방식을 선호하는 경향을 숨김없이 보여주었다. 브람스는 펠릭스 멘델스존(Felix Mendelssohn, 1809-1847), 로베르트 슈만(Robert Schumann, 1810-1856),프란츠 리스트(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886)와 함께 독일 오르간 음악의 전통에 강한 뿌리를 내리고 있으면서도 자신만의 특색을 나타내었다. 브람스의 오르간 음악에서는 바로크적 기법인 푸가를 중심으로 한 대위법적 기법과 반음계 진행의 잦은 사용, 낭만적인 서정성이 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 낭만주의의 시대적 배경과 낭만주의 음악을 연구하고 브람스의 초기작품 4곡을 분석, 연구하여 그의 음악에 나타난 기법들을 살펴보았다. 브람스의 초기 오르간 작품들을 살펴보면, 코랄 전주곡과 푸가 “아 슬픔이여,아 번뇌여”(Choralvorspiel und Fuge uber "O Traurigkeit, o Herzeleid)는 교차리듬을 사용하였고, 전주곡과 푸가 a-moll(Praludium und Fuge a-m oll)과 전주곡과 푸가 g-moll(Praludium und Fuge g-moll)에서는 각각의 프렐류드에서 똑같은 토카타적인 요소를 가지고 있다. 그리고 푸가 as-moll(Fuge as-moll)은 앞의 작품들과 달리 프렐류드나 코랄을 동반하지 않았다. 브람스의 초기 작품들은 뒤셀도르프(Duesseldorf)에서 쓰여졌고, 주로 대위법적인 성격을 가졌다. 풍부한 화성과 반음계의 사용을 볼 수 있으며, 그의 코랄 작품에서의 교차리듬은 40년 후의 또 다른 코랄 작품에도 사용되었다. 브람스는 많은 오르간 작품을 남기지는 않았지만 동시대의 작곡가들과는 달리 낭만적이고 화려한 기법보다는 절제되고 고전적인 경향을 보여주며, 특히 그의 초기작품에서는 토카타적인 요소와 푸가를 중심으로 한 대위법적 기법, 코랄에서의 제목의 느낌처럼 반음계 진행을 통한 어둡고 슬픈 느낌의 표현 등을 통하여 그의 작곡 기법을 잘 나타내고 있다.;Johannes Brahms (1833 - 1897) was one of the world's greatest composers of symphony and piano during the Romantic age. He was influenced by J. S. Bach's (1685 - 1750) and Ludwig van Beethoven's (1770 - 1827) splendidly traditional classical form, displaying the trendy fugue of their work. With these three German organ composers, Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), Robert Schumann (1810 - 1856) and Franz Liszt (1811 - 1866), Brahms was also able to display the characteristics of traditional German organ music. His Baroque organ music technique included the musical Fugue, counterpoint and a chromatic scale displaying romantic lyricism. This thesis is a research on the background of the Romantic age with an anyalisis of the early days of Brahm's four compositions. Let us analyze Brahm's four earlier works of art, including the Choralvorspier und Fuge uber "O Traurigkeit, o Herzeleid"s crossing rhythm, Pradlium und Fuge a-moll and Praludium und Fuge g-moll with a toccotta rhythm. Before this composition, Fuge as-moll, the earlier composers differed from him because they had not used the Prelude Choral. Brahms wrote his earliest composition in Duesseldorf, where he used the counterpoint technique. He also used abundant harmony with a chromatic scale. We can still see his choral composition's crossing rhythm forty years later. Brahms' many organ compositions differed from his contemporary composer's works because he used a temperance with a classic yet trendy tendancy beyond the typical splendid Romantic techniques of that day and age. In particular, his early elements of tosca and fugue counterpoint. Through his dark and sad-feeling choral titles the listener can know the display of his composition's technique.
