댕기의 조형미를 응용한 이브닝드레스 디자인 연구

Abstract

In the globalization era, we are living with information shared together transcending national boarders through various media. Not to mention political and economical cooperation, cultural values are exchanged in a global scale field and, as global scale events are frequently held in country or abroad accordingly, the fashion styles of the participants sometimes become an issue. Also, the recent life styles of individuals changed have formed a culture of party as a place for social communication and custom is becoming an important factor in the party culture. Especially, the demand for an evening dress as party ware is gradually increasing as it makes the participants of the party smart and elevates elegance of the individuals in places of official events as well. At this time when the number of global events is ever more increasing, evening dresses with Korean attraction and unique Korean tradition alive are getting more attention than any other party ware. In this regard, we can say that it is a high time to study evening dresses which can incorporate gracefulness in Korean way and a unique originality. Thus, in this study, we selected Korean pigtail ribbon as a motive for product and created a design for a modern style evening dress to which the emotion and aesthetic sense of our race are reflected, which we arranged to be used in official events such as ceremonies of awarding prizes, dinners and banquets, in an attempt to expand the expression modes of fashion expressing Korean traditional beauty. For such a purpose, first, the linear and simple format and the formative beauty of structural creation format of Korean pigtail ribbon which is one of the main accessories of Korean traditional custom and has unique traditional beauty were introduced and applied to the product. Also, in order to express the formative characteristics of the traditional patterns a Korean pigtail ribbon has into a modern image, the laser cutting technique among the latest techniques was used and modern aesthetic sense of Korean pigtail ribbon was searched in tradition and attempted to be reinterpreted. The detailed method of this study is as follows: First, the theoretical background of Korean pigtail ribbons such as definition, history and types by usage was examined through studying documents and preceding studies, formability of Korean pigtail ribbon was analyzed dividing it into colors, patterns and forms, and studied the method of expressing traditional beauty through examples of designer works. Next, through investigating laser cutting technique which is the main technique of this study, the concept and characteristics of laser, application fields of laser, and the characteristics and formability of laser cutting process technique were examined. Also, individual methods of expressing traditional beauty were reviewed through studying examples of modern fashion designer works. Through such a study, we produced 8 items in which the formative beauty of Korean pigtail ribbon was modernly applied The conclusion of the study is as follows: First, as a result of analyzing types, forms, colors and patterns of Korean pigtail ribbons, the characteristics of Korean pigtail ribbon which show linear and at the same time structural forms depending on the way it is worn could be expressed as an accent for the details and accessories of the product and could create a dress with a modern image. Second, in relation to the colors of the product, a modern image was reproduced positively utilizing saturation comparison for the group of red colors which are representative colors of traditional Korean pigtail ribbons and brightness comparison for the group of white, silver and black which are modern colors. Third, as the result of simplifying and stylizing the traditional patterns of Korean pigtail ribbons into geometric forms of modern feeling, it was found to be easy to use the same for decoration effect. Fourth, the laser cutting technique used in the works was adequate for expressing the elaborateness and delicacy of the traditional patterns of Korean pigtail ribbons and pattern effect of traditional beauty and modern beauty combined together could be expressed by introducing it to a silk material. Fashion as a high added value sensory industry is a field where incessant study on creative design answering to the demand of the age is needed. Accordingly, in relation to the custom items for which the demand is increasing nowadays, it is very meaningful to excavate our unique culture which was not fully developed in the past and attempt reinterpretation to apply the same as new design sources. In this regard, this study which grafted latest technology to traditional factor may receive attention as a new attempt in the fashion field. From now on, fashion industry should not only excavate various factors, beside Korean pigtail ribbon, where our unique aesthetic sense was applied but also try continuously to graft modern technology to the those factors. When all these are considered, this study which combined a traditional material called ?Korean pigtail ribbon? with modern technology, recomposed tradition to fit to modern senses and which created new designs as a result has its significance in the fact that it prepared a cornerstone for abundant development of fashion business.;세계화 시대를 살아가고 있는 우리는 각종 매체를 통하여 국경을 초월한 정보를 함께 공유하며 살고 있다. 정치, 경제적 협력은 물론이며 문화적 가치가 세계적 규모의 장 내에서 교류되고 있으며 이에 따라 국제적 규모의 행사가 국내외에서 빈번히 개최되므로 행사 참석자들의 패션 양식이 이슈화되곤 한다. 또한 최근 개인의 변화된 라이프 스타일은 사회적 소통의 자리로서 파티문화를 성립시켰고, 파티 문화에서 의상은 중요한 요소가 되어가고 있다. 특히 파티웨어로서 이브닝드레스는 파티 참가자들의 멋을 살려주면서 동시에 공식적 행사 자리에서 개인의 품위를 높여준다는 점에서 그 수요가 점차적으로 증대되고 있다. 더욱이 국제적인 행사들이 갈수록 늘어나고 있는 시점에서, 한국의 멋과 고유한 전통을 살린 이브닝드레스는 그 어떤 파티웨어보다 더 주목을 받고 있다. 이러한 점에서 볼 때, 한국적인 단아함과 고유의 독창성을 담아낼 수 있는 이브닝 드레스에 대한 연구가 필요한 시점이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 우리 댕기를 작품의 모티프로 선정하여, 우리 민족의 정서와 미의식이 반영된 현대적 이미지의 이브닝 드레스의 디자인을 창출하고, 이 디자인이 국내외 시상식, 만찬, 연회와 같은 공식적 행사에서 사용될 수 있도록 하여 한국의 전통미를 나타내는 패션의 표현 방식의 확대를 도모하였다. 이러한 목적에서, 먼저 우리 전통 복식의 주요 장신 구 중 하나이며, 독특한 전통미를 지닌 댕기의 직선적이고 간결한 형태와 구조적인 창작 형태의 조형미를 작품에 도입, 응용하였다. 또한 댕기가 가진 전통 문양의 조형적 특성을 모던한 이미지로 표현하고자 첨단 기법 중 하나인 레이저컷팅 기법을 이용하여, 전통 속에서 댕기의 현대적인 미적 감각을 찾아 재해석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 구체적인 연구 방법은 아래와 같다. 먼저, 댕기에 대한 이론적 배경을 문헌 조사를 비롯한 선행 연구를 통해, 댕기의 정의, 역사, 용도별 종류에 따라 살펴보고, 댕기의 조형성을 색채, 문양, 형태로 나누어 분석한 다음, 디자이너의 작품 사례를 통해 전통미를 표현하는 방법을 고찰하였다. 다음, 본 연구의 주요기법인 레이저컷팅 기법에 대해 조사하여 레이저의 개념과 특성, 레이저의 응용분야, 레이저컷팅 가공기법의 특성 및 조형성을 살펴보았다. 또한 현대 패션 디자이너들의 작품사례 연구를 통해 전통미를 표현하는 개별적 방법의 측면을 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 연구를 통하여 댕기의 조형미를 현대적으로 응용한 8점의 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 댕기의 종류와 형태, 색채, 문양을 분석한 결과, 직선적이면서 착장상태에 따라 구조적인 형태를 보이는 댕기의 특성은 작품의 디테일과 장식의 액센트로 표현되어, 모던한 이미지의 드레스를 창출시킬 수 있었다. 둘째, 작품의 색채와 관련하여, 전통댕기의 대표적 색채인 Red계열과 모던한 색채인 모던한 색채인 White, Silver, Black의 명도대비를 적극 활용하여 현대적 이미지를 재현할 수 있었다. 셋째, 댕기의 전통문양을 현대적 감각으로 기하하적인 형태로 단순화, 양식화 한 결과 현대패션에서 장식효과로 활용하기에 용이함을 확인하였다. 넷째, 작품에 활용한 레이저컷팅 기법은 댕기의 전통문양의 정교함과 섬세함을 나타내기에 적합하였으며, 이를 실크소재에 도입함으로써 전통미와 현대미가 결합된 문양효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 고부가가치 감각산업으로서의 패션은 시대적 요구에 걸맞는 독창적 디자인에 대한 끊임없는 연구가 필요한 분야이다. 이에 오늘날 그 수요가 점차로 늘고 있는 의상아이템과 관련하여, 기존에 개발이 충분하지 못했던 고유문화에 대해 현대적 재해석을 시도하여 새롭게 디자인 원천으로 발굴 적용하는 것은 그 의의가 매우 크다 할 수 있다. 이러한 점에서 전통적 요소에 첨단의 기술을 접목한 본 연구는 패션 분야에서 새로운 시도로 주목받을 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다. 앞으로 패션 산업은 댕기뿐만 아니라, 우리나라 고유의 미적 감각이 적용된 다양한 요소들을 발굴하고, 그것을 새로운 현대적 기술과 접목시킬 수 있는 시도를 지속적으로 전개해야 할 것이다. 이러한 맥락을 고려 할 때, 댕기라는 전통적인 소재를 현대적인 기술과 맞물려 전통을 현대적 감각에 맞게 재구성하고 새로운 디자인을 창출한 본 연구는 패션 사업의 풍요로운 발전을 위한 초석을 마련했다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
