L. v. Beethoven의 Piano Sonata Op.2, No.3에 관한 연구

Abstract

This thesis is written to study L. v. Beethoven's Piano Sonata Op.2, No.3. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770∼1827) was a great composer who established The Vienna classicism and he was the representative of a period of classicism together with Franz Joseph Haydn(1732∼1809) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart(1756∼1791). He experimented new ideas and adapted new aesthetic to his music. These experimental and novel factors led to the Romantic period. He composed various genre of music such as symphonies, chamber music and pieces for solo instruments, and above all, his 32 piano sonatas holds the great position in piano music history along with the 『Well tempered Klavier Book Ⅰ,Ⅱ』 by J. S. Bach. His 32 Piano Sonatas have a very important meaning in the history of his music, because he composed the piano sonatas throughout his life, the piano sonatas represent his different stylistic periods and these 32 Sonatas show a continuous development and transition of his musical career. These 32 Sonatas are classified into early, middle and latter periods in accordance with the age and form of works. This thesis focuses on piano Sonata Op, 2 No. 3. Before the analysis, to provide a better understanding, Beethoven's life history and his sonata pieces through out the three periods will be studied. Piano Sonata Op.2, No.3, composed in 1795, consists of four movements. It has the most larger scale and the most magnificent piece out of the three Op.2 pieces. The first, and the fourth movements are in Sonata form and the second movement is in Rondo form and the third movement is in Scherzo form. The first movement emphasizes the contrast between the first theme of and the second theme, and widen its form by setting forth new motifs in form. Adding the Cadenza got effect. In the second movement, the lyrical melody appears in dialogue form and it controls over the whole second movement. Differs from the usual third movement form which is the Minuet, Beethoven used Scherzo in the third movement. Therefore, the scale enlarged and the jaunty rhythm is expressed. The fourth movement in Rondo, the first theme which sounds like impromtu and the lyrical second theme comes along in contrast and shows the exquisiteness of Beethoven's style of the early period.;하이든(F. Mozart, 1756-1791)와 함께 빈 고전악파의 3대 거장인 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)은 고전주의 음악 양식을 계승하고 거기에 자신의 개성을 첨가하여 새롭고 독창적으로 발전시켰다. 그는 교향곡, 실내악곡, 독주곡 등의 다양한 장르의 음악을 작곡했는데 그 중 32곡의 피아노 소나타는 J. S. Bach의 『평균율 클라비어곡집(Well tempered Clavier Book Ⅰ,Ⅱ)』과 함께 피아노 음악에서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지한다. 베토벤의 피아노 소나타는 그의 전 생애에 걸쳐 작곡되었고, 작곡시기와 작곡양식 등을 기초로 하여 3개의 시기로 구분할 수 있다. 초기는 모방(Imitation)의 시기로 약 1802년까지로 고전주의적 경향에 베토벤만의 독특한 개성을 첨가하여 15곡의 피아노 소나타를 작곡했다. 중기는 약 1802년부터 1816년까지의 실현(Realization)의 시기로 초기 소나타 형식의 확립과 함께 소나타 구조를 변형시키며 환상곡적인 분위기의 악장을 넣는 등 다양한 시도를 하며 낭만주의 양식으로의 변화를 예고했다. 이 시기의 피아노 소나타는 12곡이 작곡되었다. 후기는 명상(Contemplation)의 시기로 이 시기에 베토벤은 5곡의 피아노 소나타를 작곡했다. 약 1816년에서 1827년까지인 후기의 작품에서는 베토벤의 새로운 것에 대한 도전과 시도를 엿볼 수 있는데, 더 이상 고전주의 형식에 얽매이지 않으며 명상적, 환상적인 모습을 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 Piano Sonata Op.2, No.3을 분석하기에 앞서 베토벤의 생애와 시기별 피아노 소나타의 특징을 살펴봄으로 그의 피아노 소나타에 대한 이해를 돕고자 하였다. Piano Sonata Op.2, No.3은 1795년 작곡된 Op.2의 3곡의 소나타 중 가장 규모가 크고 화려한 곡으로 4악장으로 구성되어 있다. 제 1악장과 4악장은 소나타 형식(Sonata form)으로 되어 있으며, 제 2악장은 론도 형식(Rondo form)으로 제 3악장은 스케르초 형식(Scherzo form)으로 작곡되었다. 제 1악장에서는 베토벤의 특성을 잘 보여주는 주제적 요소들이 대조를 이루며 등장하고, 화려하고 기교적인 카덴짜(Cadenza)를 끝부분에 삽입하여 효과를 더했다. 제 2악장은 서정적이고 아름다운 선율이 서로 대화하듯 등장하며 악장의 전체를 지배한다. 기존의 고전주의 소나타에서는 3악장에 미뉴엣(Minuet)을 사용했던 것에 반하여 베토벤은 제 3악장에 스케르초(Scherzo)를 사용하여 규모를 확대시키고 경쾌하고 익살스러운 느낌을 표현하였다. 론도 소나타 형식(Rondo Sonata form)으로 작곡된 제 4악장에서는 즉흥연주 같은 분위기를 느낄 수 있는 경쾌한 1주제와 노래 부르는 듯한 아름다운 2주제가 대조적으로 나오며 베토벤 초기 피아노 소나타의 특징을 보여준다.
