묶음의 형태미를 응용한 패션디자인

Abstract

예술은 기능에 의해서만 형태가 결정되는 것이 아니라 표현과 감성이 함께 조화를 이루어 결정되는 복합적인 형태로 이루어져 있다. 현대에 이르러 여러 예술 분야와 접목되어 있는 패션디자인은 인체를 보호하기 위한 착용의 목적만으로 디자인 하는 것이 아니라 다른 예술 분야들처럼 작가의 감정과 정신세계를 표현하는 조형예술의 한 매체로서 활용되고 있다. 패션디자인은 인체를 통한 조형예술의 표현으로서 조형적인 아름다움을 표현하는 데에 미적 가치를 두고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 형태를 중심으로 한 패션디자인의 조형성을 강조하여 조형 예술로서의 패션을 예술적으로 표현해 보고자 점, 선, 면의 형태와 양감이 함께 조화롭게 이루어진 묶음의 형태를 디자인의 모티프로 선택하였다. 묶음의 형태미를 패션디자인에 도입함에 있어 묶음의 조형적 특성을 표현하기 위하여 조선후기 풍속화의 서민들의 복식에서 나타난 자유로우면서도 개성 있는 묶음의 형태미와 묶음에 의한 복식의 형태미를 연구, 분석하고 그 조형적 특성을 응용하여 패션 디자인을 창출하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 묶음의 형태미를 현대 패션디자인에 활용할 수 있는 방향을 모색하는 계기로서 전통 서민 생활상에서 보여지는 묶음의 형태미를 마련하고 이를 응용, 발전시켜 현대 패션디자인의 형태적인 표현의 영역을 확장하는 데에 있다. 본 연구의 내용과 방법에 있어서 묶음에 관한 이론적 배경과 조선후기 풍속화의 서민들 복식에 나타난 묶음의 형태미를 문헌고찰을 통해 분석, 연구하였으며, 조선후기 풍속화에 보여지는 묶음의 조형적 특성 및 현대 패션디자인에 나타난 묶음의 형태미를 문헌고찰 및 인터넷 검색을 통해 사진자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 조선후기 풍속화에 보여지는 서민 복식의 묶음의 형태미를 응용한 패션디자인 작품 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 묶음의 형태는 복식의 실루엣, 디테일에 이르기까지 장식적인 용도와 복합적인 용도에 모두 나타나며 형태적 특징에 따라 다양하게 분류되고 응용되어, 패션이 예술로서의 중요성이 부각되고 있는 현 시점에서 조형적 아름다움을 표현하는데 충분한 미적 가치를 지닌 모티프임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 조선후기 풍속화 복식에 나타난 묶음의 형태는 다양한 형태적 특징과 착장 방식에 의한 독특한 조형적 특징을 보여주고 있으며, 이를 통하여 우리 전통 서민 복식에서 보여지는 묶음의 다양한 형태들과 착장 방식을 통해 우리 복식에서만이 지닌 전통적인 형태미의 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 작품의 소재에 있어서 우리 전통적인 소재인 실크노방과 도톰하며 무게 감이 있어 묶음의 조형적 형태를 입체적으로 표현해주는 도비실크 및 양 가죽을 혼합하여 사용함으로써 현대와 전통이 공존하는 독특하고 개성있는 소재 표현 영역의 폭을 넓힐 수 있었다. 넷째, 작품의 색채에 있어서 모노톤 컬러를 대부분 주조 색으로 사용함으로써 묶음의 형태미를 강조시켜주는 시각적 효과와 동시에 단아한 전통미를 표현할 수 있었으며, Red의 액센트 컬러와 명도대비를 사용하여 묶음의 독특한 형태미를 개성 있게 표현할 수 있었다. 다섯째, 작품의 스타일에 있어서 묶음에 의해 자연스럽게 표현되는 디테일 형태와 복식의 간결한 실루엣을 조화시킴으로써 묶음이 가진 형태미를 현대복식에 강조하는 것이 가능하였다. 이와 같이 본 연구는, 조형적인 형태미를 지닌 묶음이 예술성이 강조되고 있는 현대 패션에서 조형성을 표현하는 수단으로 그 가치가 있음을 확인 하였다. 또한, 묶음의 형태미는 우리 전통 서민 복식 안에서 다양한 형태와 독특한 방식으로 표현되고 있었으며 이는 전통과 현대 패션이 함께 공존하는 현 시대에서 지속적으로 연구되어야 한다. 이를 통하여 현대 패션에서 요구하는 창의적이며 독특한 조형적 형태미를 지닌 현대 예술의상을 창출하는 계기가 되었으면 한다.;Art form is a complex form of being decided not only the function, but also the expression and emotion. The fashion design which goes together with several art forms in the modern time, is utilizing as a medium of formative arts designed not only for the purpose of wearing for protecting the body but also for expressing the emotion and the world of spirit of the author. Fashion design values the aesthetic purpose expressing the formative beauty as an expression of human body. Thus, this thesis chooses the form of ties which has the shape of dot, line and volume to express the fashion as a formative art by stressing the shape of fashion design. By introducing and expressing the beauty of tied-up shape to the fashion design, I studied and analyzed the natural characteristic formation of tied-up showing common people in the late Chosun Dynasty’s folk paintings and then created new fashion design by applying its formative features. The purpose of this study is preparing the tied-up formation of traditional clothes and finding out the way of utilizing them to the modern fashion design to expand the area of formative expression of modern fashion design. To study of this thesis, I studies and analyzed the literatures and folk paintings to find out the formative beauties of tied-ups of common people in the late Chosun Dynasty, and collected the photos through the Internet searches as well. Based on these materials, I have made up eight productions of tied-up forms showed common people in the late Chosun Dynasty’s folk paintings. The conclusions of this thesis are as follows: First of all, the form of tied-up can be applied to the decorative and compound purposes such as silhouette or details and classified in its formative character. Thus, I confirmed that it could be the motif which is enough to express the formative beauty at this time when the fashion is as important as an art. Second, the formation of tied-up on the late Chosun folk painting shows the unique formations by dressing up with various ways, and I could know the superiority of our traditional beauty of formative art. Third, by using various Korean traditional materials such as silk nobang, dobi silk, and sheep leather which are so thick and heavy that they are possible to express the tied-up formation more solid, the beauty of fashion formation can be stressed more creatively and the range of materials can be wider. Fourth, by using mono-tone colors as the main colors, it is possible to express the graceful beauty of tradition appearing visual effects with the formative beauty of tied-ups and segmentations. Also, it can be uniquely expressed by using the accent color like red and brightness contrast. Fifth, it is possible to harmonize the formative beauty of tied-up with modern clothes by harmonizing details of tied-ups with simple silhouette. In conclusion, this thesis confirms that the tied-up which has a formative beauty has a value of means of expressing formative modern fashion art. Also, I insist that the tied-up should be studied continuously to elevate our creativity and traditionalism for who studies about the traditional clothes since it’s appearing as various forms in our traditional garments. I’m sure that it can be the chance of creating new and formative modern artistic clothes which is required by modern fashion world by finding out the formative beauty which has a traditional and modern one at the same time.
