구름 이미지를 응용한 리버시블(reversible) 의상디자인

Abstract

Fashion has been changed reasonably by answering the request of people as time goes by, and the modern society is requiring some complex and high-dimensional functional clothes, not a simple one, due to the rapid change of tastes. For this era of requiring new and various things, the reversible fashion can be the practical and aesthetical one. Reversible fashion is applied to the modern fashion from the foreign collections to the general merchandises. Due to the development of technology, the forms of reversible fashion are getting various and it is necessary to study of the reversible fashion as well. Thus, the study proposes the formative and artistic reversible fashion motivated by cloud to be corresponded the aesthetic desires for the new and various things. This reversible fashion motivates the image of cloud, and sews both sides with the method of binding. Contrasting the patterned side and solid one, formative cloth which is changeable in and out has been created. The purpose of this study is for creating unique and formative functional fashion design which can satisfy the various and complex desires of modern people, and to expand the area of fashion design by suggesting the high-value one with design competitiveness. The study shows the concept, origin, the time of appearance, features and forms of reversible fashion, collects the designs from London, Milan, New York, Paris collections and all kinds of fashion sites and magazines from 2000S/S to 134 2008S/S, and analyzes their features by classifying as forms with examples. Through the general consideration of cloud, which is the motif of this study, I analyzed the definition, true nature, kinds, and formative features of clouds and thought about the symbolism of cloud as well. Based on the study above, I designed reversible cloth with cloud images and created 8 artworks. The results are as follows: First of all, by grafting up the abstract cloud image and realistic one, which is motivated by unique feature of cloud image and it's abstractive symbolism inside and expressed by touching with a brush, on the functional reversible clothes, it is possible to express the formative fashion harmonized with natural beauty and I can suggest the functional clothes with aesthetic feature. Seconds, by designing realistic and concrete cloud image to express the fantasy of cloud inside, it is possible to expand the meaning of the fashion from a daywear to an obzet of the art installation of surrealism. Third, since the reversible fashion has complex details which can be expressed variously by changing them, it has an effect of more than two suits of cloth. Fourth, since the sewing makes possible to use two kinds of materials at once, various materials and colors can be applied to the clothes. Contrastive and harmonized design raised the effects of reversible fashion. Fifth, downy suede is suit for expressing the touch of comfortable clouds and transparent chiffon and soft silk are sleek and light. Also, the gray scale dark colors are right for the clouds and bright white and blue colors are just for the find sky and clean clouds. By this study, the reversible fashion is just the one which can be the right answer to this complex and various modern societies' demand because of its twosided effect. In this disposable modern society, the reversible fashion can be the alternative plan for the cheap clothes waste problems. Through the development of materials and technologies, it is expected to expand the use and the study of more functional and formative reversible clothes.;패션은 시대가 변화함에 따라 사람들의 요구에 부응하면서 보다 합리적으로 변화해왔고, 현대 사회는 다원화된 사회구조와 복잡한 사회패턴, 현대인의 빠른 기호감성의 변화로 일차원적이 아닌 복합적이고 고차원적 기능의 의상을 요구하고 있다. 리버시블 의상은 안팎이 변화하는 의상으로 실용적이며, 변화에 의한 심미적인 효과를 누릴 수 있어 새로움과 다양성을 요구하는 시대에 따른 현대 패션에 적합한 방식이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 리버시블 방식은 해외 컬렉션에 나타난 의상을 비롯하여 잡화 분야 등에 이르기까지 다방면으로 현대 패션에 응용되고 있고, 기술의 발달로 인해 리버시블 의상의 유형도 점점 다양해 지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 구름을 모티브로 하는 조형적이고 예술적인 리버시블 의상의 제안으로 현대인의 새로움과 다양성에 대한 욕구와 미적 욕구에 부합하고자 하였다. 작품은 안팎이 변화하는 조형적인 리버시블 의상을 디자인 하고자 봉제에 의한 양면 접합 방식을 사용하여 구름 이미지의 패턴이 있는 면과 무지(solid) 면이 대조를 이루게 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 한 벌의 의상으로 두 벌의 의상의 효과를 지닌 미적인 의상을 제작함으로써 현대인의 다양하고 복합적인 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 독특한 의상디자인을 제안하고, 나아가 디자인 경쟁력을 갖는 고부가가치 패션으로 상업적 가치를 창출하고 패션 표현영역을 확대하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용과 방법은 이론적 연구로서 문헌을 통해 리버시블 의상의 개념과 기원, 출현 시기, 특성, 유형에 대해 정리 하였으며, 현대 패션에 나타난 리버시블 디자인을 2000S/S 에서 2008S/S까지 London, Milan, New York, Paris 컬렉션과 각종 패션 사이트와 잡지를 통해 사진 자료를 수집, 분석하여 리버시블 의상의 적용방식과 표현적 측면에서 각각 유형 분류하여 사례제시와 함께 특징적 면모를 살펴보았다. 또한, 본 연구의 모티브가 되는 구름의 일반적 고찰을 통해 구름의 정의와 본질, 종류, 조형적 특성에 관하여 분석하였고, 구름 이미지를 모티브로 한 조형예술사례 분석을 통해 구름 속에 내재된 상징성을 고찰해보았다. 이를 토대로, 구름 이미지를 응용한 리버시블 의상을 디자인 하여 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기능적 성격이 강한 리버시블 의상에 독특한 구름 이미지와 그 속에 내재된 상징성을 붓의 터치를 이용한 추상적이고 회화적인 구름 이미지와 사실적인 구름 이미지를 접목시킴으로써 자연의 아름다움이 조화를 이루는 심미성을 갖춘 의상을 제안할 수 있었다. 둘째, 구름의 이미지를 표출하는 표현적 측면에 있어서 구름 속에 내재된 환상과 희망적 의미를 전달하고자 사실적이고 구체적으로 구름을 묘사함으로써 일상적인 의상의 패턴이기보단 하나의 초현실주의의 설치 미술 오브제로써의 가능성으로 패션의 의미를 확대시킬 수 있었다. 셋째, 리버시블 의상의 구조 연구를 통해 접근한 결과, 그 디테일을 여러 이미지로 변화시켜 표현할 수 있어 한 벌의 의상으로 여러 벌의 의상 효과를 갖는 다양한 연출이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 봉제에 의한 양면 접합 방식의 리버시블 의상은 서로 다른 소재의 사용을 용이하게 하여 안팎의 변화를 보다 적극적으로 활용할 수 있어 다양한 소재와 색채의 사용이 가능하였고, 양면의 사용으로 인한 대비와 조화의 디자인으로 리버시블 의상의 양면적 특성을 더욱 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있었다. 다섯째, 기모가 있는 스웨이드 소재는 포근한 덩어리 구름의 촉감을 표현하기 적합하였고, 투명한 쉬폰과 부드러운 실크 소재는 가볍고 매끄러워 바람에 의해 펼쳐진 실처럼 가는 형의 구름을 은은하게 나타내기에 효과적이었다. 또한 무채색의 짙은 컬러의 사용은 먹구름과 같은 어둡고 두꺼운 구름을 표현하기에 적합했으며, 밝고 화사한 화이트와 푸른 계열의 컬러는 맑은 날의 화창한 하늘과 깨끗한 구름의 이미지를 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 리버시블 의상은 안팎의 사용으로 인한 양면적 효과로 인해 복잡하고 다양한 현대사회의 요구에 부응할 수 있는 적합한 방식의 의상임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 리버시블 의상은 일회성이 강한 현대사회에서 고부가가치를 갖는 디자인의 창출로 인해 값싼 의류 폐기물로 인한 환경문제에 대안을 제시할 수 있는 바람직한 의상으로, 앞으로 다양한 리버시블 소재의 개발과 기술의 발달로 더욱 기능적이고 조형적인 리버시블 의상의 사용과 후속연구가 체계성 있게 확대대길 기대해 본다.
