확장기법을 활용한 이야기훈련이 취학전 언어발달지체아동의 다시말하기 능력에 미치는 효과

Abstract

본 연구는 기존 연구에서 이야기책 읽기를 할 때 구문복잡성, 평균발화길이, 어휘습득, 의미관계 발달 등에 있어서 효과적이라고 밝혀진 확장기법이 아동의 이야기 다시말하기 능력의 향상에도 도움이 되는지를 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 언어발달이 생활연령에 비해 1년 이상 지체된 취학전 언어발달지체아동 10명을 대상으로 하였다. 대상아동들의 생활연령은 평균 72개월(6:0세)이었으며, 수용언어 발달연령은 평균 56개월, 표현언어 발달연령은 평균 54개월로 남아 5명과 여아 5명이었다. 본 연구에서는 이야기를 개별적으로 아동에게 그림과 함께 한번 들려준 후에, 아동이 그림을 보면서 다시말하기를 하는 동안 아동이 산출한 이야기 관련발화에 대해 문법적으로 수정해 주는 것과 동시에 빠진 정보를 추가하여 보다 높은 수준의 발화로 다시 들려주는 구문적, 의미적 확장을 제공하였다. 중재는 개별적으로 10회씩 한 회기당 15분에 걸쳐 주당 3회씩 실시하였다. 중재에 들어가기에 앞서 사전검사로 이야기 다시말하기를 진행하였고, 10회기의 중재를 거친 후에 사전검사와 동일한 이야기로 다시말하기를 재실시하였다. 이야기 자료는 대상 아동들의 관심과 흥미를 끌 수 있으면서 이야기 문법구조를 갖추고 있는 것으로, 대상 아동의 언어능력을 고려하여 이해에 어려움이 없는 일상적인 내용과 단순한 그림이 있는 것으로 총 6권이 사용되었다. 그 중 1권은 사전?사후 검사용으로 사용되었으며, 나머지 5권은 실험처치용으로 중재 1~5회기에 각 1회씩, 6~10회기에 다시 1회씩이 사용되었다. 이야기 다시말하기 능력의 향상을 측정하기 위해서는 명제회상율, 이야기문법점수, 이야기의 길이(C-unit의 수, C-unit당 평균낱말수), 이야기 결속표지(생략, 어휘반복)를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 확장기법을 통해 이야기 다시말하기를 촉진받은 아동들은 10회기의 중재를 받은 이후에 다시말하기 능력이 향상되었다. 명제회상율, 이야기 문법점수가 증가하였으며, 이야기 문법범주 측면에서 배경을 제외한 계기사건, 내적 반응, 시도, 결과, 반응의 모든 범주에서 사용율이 증가하였다. 또한 C-unit의 수와 C-unit당 평균 낱말수로 측정한 이야기의 길이가 길어졌다. 이야기 결속표지의 사용빈도는 생략은 사전 대비 사후에 별 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 어휘반복은 사전 대비 사후에 사용빈도가 유의하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 연구결과, 확장기법을 통한 이야기 훈련은 취학전 언어발달지체아동의 다시말하기 능력을 향상시키는데 있어서 효과적임을 알 수 있다.;The purpose of present study was to investigate the effect of expansion on story retelling by preschool children exhibiting delayed language development. Ten children who were exhibiting language delayed more than one year compared to their age participated in this study. The interventions were provided 10 sessions for a 15 minute,, 3 times a week. The children heard the story with pictures, and then were provided syntactical and semantical expansions while story retelling. Pre and Post story retelling were compared to investigate improvement. The results obtained in this study are as follow: 1. The rate of proposition recall on post test was increased compared to pretest story retell. 2. The score of story grammar were increased. The usage of initiating event, internal response, attempt, direct consequence, and reaction were increased. But only the usage of setting information was not increased significantly . 3. The number of C-unit and the number of mean words per C-unit were increased. 4. On frequency of cohesion, ellipsis was not changed significantly, but lexical cohesion was increased. Based on the results mentioned above, preschool children exhibiting delayed language development showed improvement in their story retelling after 10 times interventions by expansion. Thus, it could be concluded that the expansion is an effective method of improving abilities of story retell for children with language delays.
