J. Habermas의 批判社會 理論에 대한 一考

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the Critical Social Theory of Habermas with special reference to the epistemological background of the theory. Habermas' Critical Social Theory is dominant as one of the social theories which have abilities to overcome the crisis of the modern industrial society. It is a key for understanding the Ideal Speech Community presented as a concrete model of the actual social theory to consider the epistemological context of the Critical Social Theory. The construction of this thesis is as follows: Chapter Ⅰ is a preface containing the critique on the post-capitalistic society with the purpose and the bounds of this thesis. Chapter Ⅱ deals with the Critical Social Theory on the three aspects developed step by step within interrelation. Firstly, following the consideration on that Habermas uses together the empirical-analytical science and the historical-hermeneutic science, as the approaching methodologies to appreciate a society in the critically-oriented-science which is in representative capacity of the Critical Social Theory, this thesis deals with the characteristics of the three sciences. Secondly, Habermas puts to use together <Labor> drown from the empirical-analytical science and <Interaction> drown from the hermeneutic science, as the epistemological categories. Following the consideration on Hegel's 'Intersubjectivity of Mind' and the critique on Marx's 'Dialectic of Social Labor', the asserts the dichotomy of <Labor> and <Interaction>. Thirdly, he unites dialectically the two epistemological categories with <Self-refection>, the essential category of the Critical Social Theory. Chapter Ⅲ deals with the Ideal Speech Community presented is a concrete model for the movement of <Self-reflection>, emphasising the closed modern society demands the Ideal Speech Community as a actual social theory, and it is required to develop the Communicative Competence Theory for realization of the Ideal Speech Community. The Concluding Chapter TV deals with the problems of the Critical Social Theory.;本 硏究論文은 Habermas의 批判社會理論에 대한 理解의 試圖로서 特히 認識論的 背景에 촛점을 두고 考察해 보려는 것이다. Habermas의 批判社會理論은, 현대산업사회에서의 위기현상에 대처할 사회이론으로서의 주요한 위치를 지니고 있는 바, 批判社會理論의 認識論的 脈絡을 살펴보는 것은, Habermas가 실질적 사회이론의 具體的 model로 제시한 理想的 對話共同體를 이해하는 데의 關鍵이 되리라고 본다. 이에 따라 本 論文의 構成은 다음과 같이 하고 있다. 우선 Ⅰ章은 後期資本主義社會 批判을 포함한 硏究의 目的고 範位를 나타내는 머리말이며, Ⅱ章에서는, 批判社會理論을 단계적으로 발전되어 상호연관성을 지니는 세가지 측면에서 檢討하고 있다. 첫째로, Habermas가, 경험적·분석적 학문과 해석학적 학문을 社會認識上의 접근방법으로서, 批判社會理論의 성격을 대표하는 비판적·변증법적 학문內에서 함께 원용하고 있음에 주지하면서, 위의 세가지 學問의 性格을 檢討하고 있다. 둘째로, Habermas가, 경험적, 분석적 학문에서 추출한 <勞動>과, 해석학적 학문에서 추출해 낸 <相互作用>이라는 두 認識論的 範疇에 대한 이해를 위해, Hegel.의 '정신의 상호주관성'을 살펴보고, 이에 따른 Marx에 대한 Habermas의 비판을 살펴본 후, <勞動>과 <相互作用>의 二元論의 타당성을 확인하고 있다. 세째로, Habermas가 두 인식론적 범주를 변증법적으로 통합시킨 <自己反省>의 役割에 대해 다루고 있다. Ⅲ章에서는, 위와 같은 전개과정을 거쳐서 <自己反省>운동의 구체적 model로서 제시되는 理想的 對話共同體가 폐쇄된 現代社會에서 요청되고 있는 실질적 社會理論임을 역설하면서, 이상적 對話共同體의 실현을 위한 意思疎通能力理論의 開發을 모색하고 있음을 다루고 있다. Ⅳ章의 맺음말에서는, Habermas의 批判社會理論이 지니는 몇가지 문제에 대해 살펴보고 있다.
