敍事民謠의 一類型硏究

Abstract

This study is focused on one type of Seosaminyo, Korean narrative folk song. It is the type of conjugal union and this name of type is named newly in this study. The content of this study could be summarized as following. In chapter Ⅱ, a new way to classify Seosaminyo works is suggested. And that is the classifying way according to abstract meanings of Seosaminyo works. Seosaminyo's importance lies not in its narrative structure but in its significant meanings expressed by its lauguages. Regarding this, the classifying way suggested in this study seems reasonable. In chapeer Ⅲ, six functions of the conjugal union type is suggested. They are 'symptom of seperation', 'holding', 'seperation', 'secession' and 'union' function. And it is revealed that folksongs belonging to this type have cohesions of meaning. In chapter Ⅳ, to analogize Seosominyo's universal appearance of composition, I research the appearance of composition of a certain folksong of this type. So, it is revealed that Seosaminyo is composed of formulaic language units according to technique of repetition. Chapter Ⅴ is based on chapter Ⅳ, in which the importance of formulaic language units is suggested. The most effective way to analyze the meanings of this type is to research the poetic and social meanings of formulaic language units that appear in folksongs of this type. In consequence it is revealed that poetic meaning of this type is the tragical fate of the conjugal union through life and death. And the social meanings of this type is roughly the sufferings of married women as a result of the ambiguous identity under the patriarchy. In chapter Ⅵ I research the generic nature of this type's folksongs. Their containings of stories are narrative natures. Also they have parrellel structures, vagucuess of event outline, narration in present tense, themes of union of subject and object. So, this type's generic nature is more lyrical than narrative and this conclusion can be analogiged into the universal generic nature of Seosaminyo. At the end, I believe that future studies of Seosaminyo could be suggested from this study more or less.;敍事民謠란 민요 중 이야기를 담고 있는 民謠篇들을 일컫는다. 본 연구는 서사민요 장르의 본질을 규명하기 위한 試圖로서 '부부결합'형이라는 한 類型을 고찰한 것이다. 그 내용을 章별로 요약하면 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장에서는 서사민요의 전승적 핵심이 서사구조가 아닌 표현언어에 있다는 점을 밝히고, 따라서 유형분류의 기준도 언어가 표현하는 함축적 의미에 두어야 함을 제시했다. 또한 유형분류의 본보기로서 '부부의 분리와 운명적 결합'이라는 추상적 의미를 공유하는 一群의 작품들을 '부부결합'형이라고 이름붙였으며, 아울러 본 연구가 이 유형에 집중됨을 밝혔다. Ⅲ장에서는 '부부결합'형 민요작품들이 지닌 의미의 凝集力을 機能分析을 통해 증명했는데 그 결과 Ⅱ장에서 제시한 유형분류 방식의 타당성이 논리적으로 검증되었다. Ⅳ장에서는 '부부결합'형에 속하는 대표적인 작품을 추출하여 그 작품의 構成樣相을 분석하였다. 그 결과 분석대상이 된 작품이 주로 반복의 기법으로 구성되어 있고, 실제 작품을 구성하는 것은 공식적 언어단위들임이 드러났다. 이것으로 '부부결합'형 서사민요의 구성양상을 규명하고, 나아가서 서사민요 작품 전체의 구성양상을 유추했다. Ⅴ장에서는 Ⅳ장에서 제시된 공식적 언어단위들의 중요성에 입각하여 '부부결합'형에서 등장하는 공식적 언어단위들의 의미를 분석하였다. 여기에서 '부부결합'형 서사민요의 詩的 의미는 삶과 죽음을 통한 부부결함의 비극적 운명에 있으며, 社會的 의미는 가부장제도에서의 婚入한 여자의 신분의 애매성과 그에 의한 고난임을 알 수 있었다. Ⅵ장에서는 '부부결합'형 민요들의 장르적 성격을 규명하였다. '부부결합'형 민요가 이야기를 담고 있다는 점에서는 서사적이지만 병렬적 구조, 사건 윤곽의 모호성, 현재형 서술, 主客合一의 주제 등이 나타나는 것으로 보아서는 서정적이기도 하다는 것이 그 결과였다. 또한 이런 특성들은 서사민요 전체에 일반화될 수 있는 가능성이 있음도 밝혔다.
