Erich Fromm의 사회심리학 小考

Abstract

본 연구논문의 목적은, 현대산업사회에 만연해 있는 병리현상인 소외를 프롬(Erich Fromm)의 사회심리학적 관점에서 설명해 보려는 것이다. 현대산업사회는 시장성(marketability), 양화(guantification)와 추상화(abstraction), 그리고 익명의 권위(anonymous authority)라는 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 특성들은, 현대인으로 하여금 인간이 지닌 본성이 궁극적이고 적극적이며, 생산적인 방향으로 나아가는 것을 방해하므로써 현대인을 소외시키고 있다. 그리고 이러한, 현대인을 소외시키는데 기여하는 조건 중의 하나가 현대인의 사회적 성격이다. 프롬은 현대인의 사회적 성격으로 시장지향적 성격, 수용지향적 성격을 지적하였다. 그리고 애사(愛死)지향적 성격이 노출되는 빈도가 점차 증가되고 있음도 지적하였다. 인간과 사회간의 상호작용에 의해 결과하는 사회적 성격은 다양한 수준에서 인간의 정서적 발전을 조정하고 있는 중요한 요소이며, 또한 이데올로기적 상부구조의 내용을 이루고 있다. 그러므로 현대인과 현대산업사회간의 상호작용에 의해 생긴 현대인의 사회적 성격은, 현대산업사회의 특성과 더불어 현대인을 소외시키고, 뿐만 아니라 소외된 이데올로기를 형성하고 있는 것이다. 이러한 사회적 성격은 프롬의 사회심리학의 핵심이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 이것은 프로이드(Freud, S)의 개인적 정신분석학과 마르크스(Marx, Karl)의 비판적 사회이론을 통합하는 과정에서 얻어진 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 다음과 같이 구성되었다. Ⅰ장은 연구의 목적과 방법과 범위를 밝힌 머리말과 프롬(Erich Fromm)의 생애에 대한 간단한 설명이며, Ⅱ장은 프롬(Erich Fromm)과 프로이드(Freud, S), 프롬(Erich Fromm)과 마르크스(Marx, Karl)의 관계 그리고 거기서부터 생성된 소외접근 방법인 사회심리학을, 사회적 성격론을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 그리고 Ⅲ장에서는 현대산업사회의 소외를 그의 저서를 기초로하여, 소외의 개념, 소외의 제조건들, 소외의 양상, 소외의 극복책 순으로 구성하였다. Ⅳ장은 맺음말로써 본논문에 대한 요약과 프롬이 소외에 대해 갖는 입장을 언급하므로써 끝을 맺었다.;The purpose of the thesis is to explain the alienation that prevails in modern industrial society from Erich Fromm's standpoint. The modern industrial society has three characters: that which Erich Fromm refers to marketability, quantification or abstraction, and anonymous authority. These characters disturb that modern man advances the positive goal of human nature - "freedom do". And he becomes alienated. These characters are conditions of alienation. And the other condition of modern alienation is social character of modern man. That which Erich Fromm refers to marketing oriented, recepting oriented, and necrophilic oriented character. These social characters are characterized by alienation. Social character is generated as a result of interaction between man and society. It regulates emotion of man at various levels and forms content of ideological superstructure. Therefore, the modern social characters as a result of interaction between modern man and modem industrial society alienate modern man, and form alienated modern ideology. Social character is the core of Erich Fromm's social psychology. It is understood as an effort to reconcile and synthesize the insight of Freudian Psychoanalysis and Maxian Sociology. The construction of this thesis is as follows: Chapter Ⅰ is a preface. Chapter Ⅱ looks into the relation Erich Fromm and S. Freud, and K. Marx. It deals with the social character. Chapter Ⅲ builds up alienation of modern industrial society on the basis of E. Fromm's works. It is constructed concept, conditions, aspects, and conquerable strategy of alienation by turns. Since it is so, to examine whether simple diagram of social character will be applied to alienation of modern industrial society. Chapter Ⅳ is conclusion. It is summary of this thesis and comments on standpoint of Erich Fromm.
