복頭에 關한 硏究

Abstract

This is a study on the Bok-doo(복두) concentrating in the history of Cap-towels(冠巾). Judging from the viewpoint of "history of Cap-towels," ther are many types in describing costume phenomena. The main problem, however, is to meet the requirements in the history of Cap-towels in Korea as the fashionable style. With this presupposition, the thesis intends to analyze the Bok-doo as one of the fashionable style of Cap-towels. The Bok-doo was originated in the China, which was transformed from the towel-regulations (巾制) in the later Chu dynasty(後周). It takes a type of enveloping the head by four-legs(四脚). The Bok-doo has been used in the dynasties of Suei(隋), T'ang(唐), Sung(宋), Yuan(元), Ming(明), but it has been transformed in types and materials with the passage of time. Specially the style of two-legs(兩脚) has been changed mainly from the original form. The main stream of transformation in two-legs goes as follows "Soft-legs(軟脚) was turned into hard-legs(硬脚) in the T'ang dynasty(唐) and it was turned into plane level-legs (平脚) in the Five dynasties(五代). At last plane level-legs was put on not withstanding King or subject in the Sung dynasty. Bok-doo was flourished in the Sung dynasty, and it was varied in species. Also it was widespread as a public Official uniform(公服), Courtesy uniform(儀禮服), and Ceremonial music uniform(樂服). The style of Bok-doo in the Sung dynasty was also appeared in the Yuan and Ming dynasties. We adopted the style of Chinese without a large amendment in Korea. I think that Bok-doo was introduced in Korea by the time Jin-Duck(眞德)'s third year reign. In the period of the Silla dynasty(新羅), the common people put on the Bok-doo involving the King-statesman. However the material of Bok-doo was different according to the ranks. In the Koryo dynasty (高麗), it was used widespread, in later, the male servants of aristocrat also put it on. I think that Bok-doo was flourished in that period, it was very excellent in skill and ornament. It was also adopted from the Sung and Yuan dynasties' style.;本 論文은 冠巾의 一種인 복두에 關하여 硏究한 것이다. 복두는 그 起源이 中國으로, 折上巾·파두·연과등으로 불리웠는데 이러한 名稱으로 보아 알 수 있듯이 巾에서 비롯되었다. 즉 幅巾·흡·책·파수등의 巾에서 發生한 것으로, 처음에는 급사전복으로써 頭髮을 복속하던 것이 北周때 四脚을 내어 머리를 감싼데서 복두라 불리우면서 貴賤없이 通用하였다. 이렇게 發生된 복두는 紗帽·翼善冠등에 影響을 주기도 하였다. 後周에서는 軟帛으로 만들어 脚을 드리웠는데 隨代에 桐木으로 만들기 시작하였고 唐代에는 繒대신 羅를 使用하였다. 이때에 冠形化되어 百官과 士庶人의 常服에 使用하게 되었으며, 그 制度는 四脚이었는데 兩脚은 머리뒤로 매고, 兩脚은 턱아래로 매어 벗겨지지 않게 하였고 일이 없을 때는 頂上에 올려서 매었다. 後에 四脚이던 것이 兩脚으로 되고 이 兩脚은 軟脚이던 것이 硬脚이 생겨나게 되면서 점차 硬脚으로 되었다. 五代로부터 점차 平直으로 變하여 宋代에는 君臣이 모두 전각복두를 쓰고, 乘輿에는 혹 上曲한 것을 쓰기도 하였다. 모든 儀禮나 燕居時에 널리 使用되었으며, 그 制度는 매우 多樣하였는데 전각복두외에 국각복두·교각복두·조천복두·순풍복두등이 있었다. 이러한 宋의 制度는 元과 明의 制度에 영향을 주었다. 우리나라에서는 中國의 制度를 대체로 踏襲하였다. 傳來된 時期는 확실치 않으나 정식으로 中朝의 衣冠을 始服한 것은 眞德王3年이었으니 이때에 着用했던 冠은 복두였을 것이다. 以後 統一新羅時代에는 복두일색이 되어 貴族官人은 물론 平人까지도 着用하였는데 階級에 따라 材料에 差가 있었다. 高麗時代에도 王으로부터 文武百官·士人에 이르기까지 通用했으며 뒤에 가서는 兩班의 家奴들도 이를 着用하게 되어 가장 盛行하였는데 특히 仗衛服色으로 使用된 것은 매우 華麗하고 種類도 多樣하여 전각복두·금화곡각복두·권착복두·상절각복두등이 있었다. 이것들은 모두 宋制를 따른 것이었다. 朝鮮時代에는 王世子와 百官의 公服으로 「經國大典」에 制定되었으나 丁卯·丙子 兩亂以後 公服着用이 사라지면서 그 用途가 점차 局限되어 儀式외에는 별로 使用하지 않게 되었다. 中國에서는 明이 망하고 淸이 들어서게 되자 복두를 使用하지 않게 되었으나 朝鮮에서는 冠禮服이나 及第冠服으로 國末까지 使用하였다. 制度는 전각복두가 一般的인 것이었으며 교각복두·연각복두등이 있었고, 여기에 裝飾的인 技巧를 加한 족화복두와 화화복두는 樂工服에 쓰였다. 그러나, 이러한 制度는 記錄과 繪畵가 일치하지 않으므로 時代와 儀式에 따라 일정하지 않았다고 하겠다.
