服飾에 나타난 紫色硏究

Abstract

本 論文은 服飾에 나타난 紫色과 그 상징성에 관하여, 中國, 日本, 韓國, 로마의 服飾에서 文獻的 考察을 통하여 알아 본 것이다. 紫色을 포함한 古代色은 철학 사상과 관련을 맺고 있다. 古代 紫色은 赤과 黑의 間色으로서 正色보다 한 단계 낮은 색이었다. 그러나 다른 間色과는 달리 많은 愛好를 받아왔다. 紫色은 衣冠 및 緩의 색으로 사용되었다. 그리고 紫色에는 紫宮太一 性의 意味가 포함된다고 본다. 특히 太一 紫宮의 의미에서 紫色의 개념이 새로워져 紫色은 神仙 또는 帝王이 居하는 색으로서 표현되었다. 여기에 紫雲·紫氣의 현상에서 瑞祥的인 색으로 존재하였다. 그리하여 唐時代에 이르러서 高官의 색으로 정해졌다. 이러한 中國에서의 紫色에 대한 象徵性이 그대로 우리 나라와 일본에 전하여져서 服制에서 보이는 것이다. 일본에 있어서는 最古의 服制이래로 紫色은 最上位의 色으로서 존재하였고, 平安時代에 紫色에 대한 美意識이 성립되었다. 우리나라에 있어서는 삼국시대와 고려시대의 服制에서 紫色은 王의 服色과 최고 신하의 색으로 사용하였다. 그리고 조선시대에 들어오면서 紫色은 最上位의 자리에서 물러난다. 그런데 회장저고리에 나타난 紫色은 紫宮 太一 性의 意味가있어 夫를 나타내는 것이다. 한편 서양 최대 제국인 로마에서 紫色은 로마의 개념색으로서 짙은 심홍색에 가까운 색이다. 그런데 그 紫色은 帝王 高位집정관들만이 입을 수가 있었으므로 紫色은 지배자를 뜻하는 帝王 또는 帝王의 자리를 상징하는 것이 되었다. 이와 같이 東西洋을 막론하고 紫色은 高貴한 색으로서 존재하여 古代의 紫色에 대한 색채감정이 현재까지 전해져 오고 있는 것이다.;The theme of this thesis is to study on the Purple which is shown in the costumes of Korea, Japan, China and Rome as the one of the western countries. The Purple, as one of the ancient color had a deep relation to philosophy. The ancient Purple that was secondary color (間色) between black and red, was thought as a lower color than the primary ones (正色). Eventhough the ancient Purple was loved a lot all over the world. The Purple was used in the Attires (衣冠) and Soos(綏). And the. Purple seemed that it had the meaning of JAGOONG (紫宮), TAEIL(太一) and sex (性). From the thought of JA-GOONG and TAEIL, the meaning of the Purple was changed to which imply the meaning of hermit who lived in ideal world and emperor. By the reason of the phenomenon in JAWOON(紫雲) and JAGI (紫氣), the Purple became to exist as a good omen. In China, during the Dang dynasty the Purple was fixed as the color of high dignitary. This chinese emblem of the Purple was introduced to Korea and Japan and came into used at the system of costume. In Korea, the Purple was used as the highest coler during the period of three country and Koryeo Kingdom. And in Chosun, the Purple degraded to lower rank in color conception. In Japan from the ancient time the Purple was the color for the royal rank and the esthetic concept on the Purple was formed in the pericd of Heian (平安). During the Rome that was the one of the greatest empire in ancient western history, the Purple that was similar to the deep crimson, was conception of the Rome. Therefore, the Purple simbolized the emperor and the throne, for the person who could wear the Purple was the emperor and the highest dignitary. As mentioned above, the Purple was considered as a noble color and is handed down to the present time.
