巫俗과 女性에 관한 一硏究

Abstract

巫俗의 傳承過程에 있어 특히 朝鮮時代 以後에는, 巫俗이 主로 女性에 의하여 행하여지고 傳承되어 온 것으로 보인다. 이는, 女性이 男性 中心의 儒敎圈에서 除外되었을 뿐 아니라, 男性보다 巫俗에의 親和的 傾向이 强했기 때문이다. 女性의 巫俗 親和性을 說明할 수 있는 하나의 要因으로 그들의 役割 및 地位를 들 수 있다. 儒敎理念을 바탕으로 한 家父長的 家族制度의 確立 및 强化에 따라, 女性은 家와 家長에 從屬되어 家를 위해 기여하는 手段的 役割이 任務로서 期待되어져 왔다. 이같은 從屬的 地位와 手段的 役割은 女性 自身에게도 內面化되어, 스스로를 家에 매어 놓음으로써만 自己의 存在를 確認하게 되고, 家를 떠나 主體的 自我像의 形成이 不可能하게 된다. 이같은 女性의 役割 및 地位는 그들의 巫俗 親和性에 대해 하나의 肯定的 要因으로 作用한다. (1) 家에 從屬된 地位에서 오는 家中心的 價値를 追求하는 巫俗에 이끌리게 한다. (2) 手段的 役割은 그들로 하여금 自身의 宗敎도 家를 위한 手段으로 認識하게 하여, 宗敎가 祈福의 手段으로 認識되는 巫俗을 自身의 宗敎로 받아들이게 한다. (3) 主體的인 自我를 前提로 하여 이를 超越함으로써 可能한 抽象的 思考의 缺如로, 그들은 壽福, 財福등 具體的인 것을 祈福의 內容으로 하는 巫俗에서 自身의 價値觀을 發見하게 된다. (4) 抽象的 思考體系 內에서만 可能한 合理性, 客觀性의 缺如로, 그들은 超自然的인 힘을 믿는 呪術宗敎에 의해 自身의 問題를 解決하고자 한다. (5) 그들은 從屬的 地位에서 體質化된 依他性에 依해, 運命을 神에 맡기고, 宗敎儀禮인 굿은 巫堂에게 맡기는 巫俗의 依他的 信仰態度에 익숙하게 된다. (6) 抑壓된 生活에서 오는 緊張과 不滿의 해소를 위해서, 그들은 樂天的이고 娛樂的인 굿에 參與하게 된다. 끝으로 本論文에서 "수단적 역할"이란 용어는 Parsons가 사용한 "instrumental role"과는 다른 의미로 사용됨을 밝혀둔다. 여기서 "수단적 역할"이란 '家에 예속된 地位에서 家라는 目的을 위한 수단으로서의 역할'을 의미한다.;Especially since Chosun Dynasty period, Moosok seems to have been practiced and transmitted mainly by women. It's not only because omen have been excluded from Confucianism but because they have been more strongly attracted by Moosok than man. Women's inclination to Moosok can be explained partly by their role and status. As patriarchal system has been established and, reinforced by Confucianism, women have been subordinated to family and patriarch, and expected to fulfil their role which has been merely a means to achieve prosperity of family. Subordinate status and role having been internalized in themselves, They have found themselves only in relation to family. Accordingly, it has been impossible for them to constitute independent selves. In this situation, women have lacked independence, objectivity, rationality, and abstract thinking. Women's subordinate status and role have functioned as a positive factor to their inclination to Moosok. (1) Their family-centered way of life and thinking has made them incline to Moosok which has been practiced at home and pursued family-centered values. (2) Their role having been regarded as a means not an end, they also have regarded their religion as a means to attain prosperity of family. So they have accepted Moosok which has been regarded as a means to gain good fortune. (3) Having lacked abstract thinking, they have tried to realize their fishes by practicing Moosok which has pursued concrete values as long life and wealth. (4) Having lacked rationality and objectivity, they have been apt to solve their problem by incantation (5) Having dependent personality, they leave their fate to the spirits, and the ritual, the Kut in Moodang's hand. (6) To relieve the tension and discontent caused by oppressive condition, they have participated in the Kut which is optimistic and recreational.
