日本의 1980년대 Fashion Design에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 미야케 이세이의 디자인을 중심으로 한 1980년대 일본패션 디자인의 특성에 관한 연구이다. 1980년대 일본 패션은 서구중심의 복식 전통에 도전한 새로운 미의식으로 패션에 혁명을 일으키면서 국제적인 주목을 받게 되었고, 도쿄는 세계 패션 중심지 중의 하나로 부상하였다. 1980년대 일본패션 디자인의 특성을 연구하기 위해 먼저 1980년대 세계패션 경향 가운데 일본패션의 역할을 살펴보았다. 1980년대 개성과 감성을 존중하는 새로운 의식 세대의 출현과 함께 나타난 뉴웨이브 물결은 80년대 초반 일본 패션 붐과 함께 더욱 가속화되었다. 1980년대 일본패션에 나타나는 지혜와 미는 일본복식 문화 전개속에서 발견될 수 있었다. 주니히도애(十二單)의 가사내이로매(襲色目)와 강호시대 '이끼 호상' 등에 나타난 독특한 색채문화, 일본 예술의 정수로 손색없는 근세 복식 문양 등에서 일본인들이 복식에 기울인 주의와 정성이 잘 나타난다. 이러한 일본 전통 복식의 착용과 구성에는 내적인 아름다움의 추구, 착용에 요구되는 '道', '레이어링 (layering:겹쳐입기)'현상, 착용으로 완결되는 잠재적인 복식의 형태, 오비(帶), 직선적인 아름다움의 강조와 같은 특성이 지적될 수 있었으며 일본 복식문화가 오늘날 일본패션 국제화에 원동력이 되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 1960년대 모리 하나에 (森英惠)의 뉴욕 진출에서 시작한 일본패션 디자이너의 서구 진출은 70년대에 들어서 다카다 켄조 (高田三賢), 미야케 이세이」(三宅一生), 야토모토 간사이(山本寬奕) 등에 의해 가속화 되었고 1980년대 들어서, 이미 해외에서 명성을 얻은 이들의 뒤를 이어 가와쿠보 레이(川久保합), 야마모토 요지(山本繼司), 등이 국제무대에서 정상의 위치를 확보하게 되있다 1980년대 일본패션의 국제화에는 이들 일본 디자이너들뿐 아니라 1981년부터 3일간 년1회씩 개최된 JFF(Japan Fashion Fair)가 일익을 담당했다. 1980년대 러스틱(Rustic,다듬어지지 않은)하고 혁신적인 의상으로, 화려하고 아름다와야 한다는 서구패션의 기존 가치관에 혁신을 일으킨 일본패션의 특성은 미야케 이세이(三宅一生)의 디자인을 통해 가장 잘 특징지워진다. 첫째, 이세이 미야케의 디자인에서 일본 전통복식은 현대 패션으로 재창출되었다. 탄젠(丹前), 사시코(刺子), 오비(帶), 사무라이 복식, 근세 농민 복식을 응용한 작품이 그 예이다. 둘째, 레이어드(Layered,겹쳐입기) 시키는 착용방식과 비구조적(Unconstructive)인 형태로，착용자 스스로가 자유롭게 연출하는 의상을 제시하였다. 세째, 소재의 아름다움을 형으로 표현하는 미야케 디자인의 특성은 패션 디자인의 한계를 뛰어넘어, 대나무, 종이, 플라스틱 등 모든 재질이 옷의 테마로 가능하다는 것을 제시하였다 네째, 베이지, 브라운 등의 자연색상(Natural color)과 검정, 회색, 청색, 다색 등의 어두운 색조의 사용으로 일본의 독특한 색채문화를 그의 패션에 반영하고 있다. 다섯째, 하이테프(High Tech)와 인간감성의 만남을 통해 '인간화' (Humanity)를 실현하였다. 마지막으로 '신체로부터의 자기 해방' 선언과 함께 80년대 패션에 자유로움의 정신과 편안함이라는 새로운 방향을 제시해 주고 있다. 미야케의 디자인 특징에 나타나는 1980년대 일본패션의 특성은 도코를 세계패션의 중심지로 끌어올렸을뿐 아니라 동양과 서양, 클래식과 전위, 하이테크와 휴먼의 접목으로 패션계의 미래를 암시해 주고있다.;In 1980s, New Wave Fashion accelerated with Japanese fashion boom was appeared1 with the new conscious generation who respected personality and sensitivity. Wisdom and beauty expressed in 1980s' Japanese fashion was found in Japanese costume culture. Care and sincerity were well expressed in color sense appeared Juni-hitoe's kasaneirome, 'Iki favored phenomenon' in Kangho and, and modern costume's pattern courted as a peak of Japanese art. The costume traits of wearing and constructing were pointed out in pursuation of inward beauty, 'layering phenomenon,' latent shape which completed after putting on, 'Obi,' emphasis on rectangular beauty, and 'Zen' required to wear. These facts can assure, Japanese costume culture to be grounded for internationalized Japanese fashion. Hanae Mori's challenge into New York in 1960s was a start of the Japanese fashion designers' advancing to Western fashion stage. In 1970s, sdvancing to Western fashion stage was accelerated by Kenzo Takada, Iss-ey Miyake, and Kansai Yamamoto. Right after these pioneer Japanese fashion designers, Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, etc. became one of the top fashion designers in the world in 1980s. Not only these designers put a lot efforts on internationalized Japanese fashion, but also did Japanese Fashion Fair in 1980s. The traits of Japanese fashion, well charaterized through Issey Miyak-c's design, challenged luxurious and beautiful western fashion concepts by rustic and innovative clothing. First, Japanese traditional. costume was recreated in Issey Miyake's design as modern fashion. for instances, clothings inspired from Tanzen, Sashiko, Obi, Samurai costume, and modern peagent costume. Second, clothing completed by wearers' creativties was presented as layerd wearing and unconstructive shape. Third, Issey Miayake expressed design form from materials itself. He realized that all the materials were possible to be a theme of clothing, such as bamb-oo, paper, plastic, etc. Forth, he applied Japanese unique color sence to his own fashion design by using natural colors such as beige and brown and dark colors such as black, grey, dark blue, and dark brown. Fifth, Issey Miyake realized 'Humanity' by applying high-tech to his own fashion. Lastly, Issey Miyake's design concepts of freedom and comforts showed new direction in 1980s' fashion. In 1980s' Japanese fashion shown in Issey Miyake's design, has taken up Tokyo as one of the fashion centers in tile world, and also, suggested the future of forwarding fashion as the mixture of East and West, Classic and Avant-garde, and High-tech and Human.
