[張景傳]硏究

Abstract

본 논문은 한국고전소설 「張景傳」에 대한 연구이다. 「장경전」은 조선 후기의 사회상을 배경으로 하면서 서민들의 삶과 의식을 반영하는 작품이다. 따라서 본 논문의 주된 관심은 「장경전」의 서민소설적 성격을 그 가치관을 중심으로 살펴보는 데 있다. Ⅱ장에서는 「장경전」의 서지적 문제를 다루었다. 이본의 종류와 각 이본의 내용을 검토하고, 그것을 바탕으로 完板 65張本을 연구의 대상 작품으로 선정하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 순차적 서술단락에 따라 작품의 내용을 소개하고, 전반부와 후반부로 나누어 내용을 분석하였다. 전반부는 ＜서민적 출생-고난과 원조자-지위의 상승＞의 세 단락으로 나누고, 후반부는 ＜내재된 갈등의 표출-시련의 극복-갈등의 해소＞의 세 단락으로 나누어, 각 단락들이 함축하고 있는 작품내적 의미와 작품외적-사회적 의미를 고찰하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 Ⅲ장에서 밝혀진 각 단락들의 개별적인 의미를 통합해서 작품의 총체적 의미를 살펴보았다. 충(忠)이나 부덕(婦德)같은 유교적 이념의 구현은 수단적 가치로서 표면적 의미를 갖는 반면 개인적 욕망의 성취는 목적적 가치로서 주제적 의미를 갖는다. 이것은 조선 후기의 사회상을 배경으로 서민층의 현실인식과 상승의지를 반영하는 것이다. 본 논문에서 밝혀진 장경전의 특성은 고전소설 전반에 대한 논의를 보다 다양하고 깊이있게 하기 위한 하나의 기초작업이 될 것으로 기대한다.;The purpose of this thesis is to observe the plebian aspects of Jang Kyoˇng Choˇn(張景傳), one of the popular novels during the Lee Dynasty, in terms of its sense of value. Having the background of later Lee Dynasty Jang Kyoˇn Choˇn shows the life and consciousness of the plebian class. In the second chapter, various kinds of versions and the content of each of them is covered. And in this thesis Wanpan with 65 pages (完板65張本) was selected as the object of the study. In the third chapter, the content of this novel is introduced in the chronological order. For the analysis, the novel is divided into two parts and each of which is divided into three sections; the former into, "the birth in the plebian class", "accidental suffering and a patron", and "the ascent toward the high class", and the later part into, "the expression of internalized conflict", "overcome of the suffering", and "the resolution of the conflicts." Through the analysis, the implicit meaning and the extrinsic meaning, that is, the social meaning of each section is discussed. The fourth chapter is allotted to synthesize the respective meaning of each section and therby to abstract the total meaning of the novel. In this novel, the confucianism concept such as loyalty and the virtue of wife have only the secondary superficial significance, but the achievement of the individual desire has the primary, thematic meaning. This reflects the plebian's recognition of reality and their wish for classical ascent in the society of later Lee Dynasty. This thesis is expected to contribute to the study of the popular novels during the Lee Dynasty by means of expliciting the characteristic of Jang Kyoˇng Choˇn.
