黃順元의 文體硏究

Abstract

물체론은 言語에서 출발하여 작품의 本質과 美的 價値를 규명할 수 있을 때 문학연구의 방법론으로서 의의를 지닌다. 따라서 本 論文에서는 「나무들 비탈에 서다」에 나타난 각 문체적 의장들이 작품의 본질과 미적 효과에 어떻게 기여하고 있는지를 구체적으로 분석함으로써, 黃順元의 문체규명의 출발점을 삼고자 하였다. 분석방법은 Leech의 이론을 원용하여 ①어휘적 측면 ② 문법적 측면 ③수사적 측면 ④문맥과 결합의 네 항목으로 구분하여 고찰하였다. 첫째, 어휘적 측면에서는 어휘와 의미간의 상관성을 살펴보기 위하여, 작품전체의 의미구조를 加害者(전쟁)와 被害者(인물)의 대립으로 보고 각 품사별 어휘특성을 분석하였다. 각 어휘들은 상처받은 인물들의 피해의식이란 전체 의미에 긴밀히 관여함으로써 주제를 효과적으로 부각시키고 있다. 황순원의 언어특질을 규명해 주는 個人語의 경우, 특히 固有語와 新造語가 많이 나타난다. 日常言語에서 逸脫된 개인어는 意識의 自動化를 방지하여 독자의 지각을 일깨우고, 신선한 감각을 불러 일으키는 문체효과를 産出하여 작품에 詩的인 抒情美를 부여해 준다. 愛用語의 고찰은 반복되는 어휘를 통해 작가의 의도와 더불어 작품에 미치는 효과를 추정해 볼 수 있다는 데에 의의가 있다. 사용빈도가 높게 나타나는 '허공'은 작가의 상징적 어휘인 '눈'과 관련된 것으로, 시각적 표현을 통한 인물의 간접적 심리묘사에 효과적으로 대응된다. 둘째, 문법적 측면에서는 文의 길이와 文의 리듬 및 時制를 살펴 보았다. 표본조사 결과, 황순원은 30字 내외의 단문을 애용하며, 여타 작가와 달리 단문을 통해 인물의 내면심리를 효과적으로 묘사하고 있다. 또한 황순원은 段落을 논리적 흐름이 아닌 분위기 중심으로 전환함으로써 소설의 분위기를 정서적으로 이끌며, 단락을 무수히 나눔으로써 사건전개의 템포를 빨리하여 속도감 및 리듬감을 부여한다. 그리고 여러 형태를 혼용한 時制의 문법적 일탈은 문체상에 質的인 잇점으로 나타나 문장에 현실감 및 생동감과 같은 美的 效果를 제공해 준다. 첫째, 수사적 측면에서는 사물을 詩的으로 인식하는 작가의 사상이 빚어낸 여러가지 비유의 양상과 그 미학적 효과를 살펴 보았다. 황순원의 소설에서 가장 특이한 문체장치로 나타나는 象徵은 본 Text에서 이미지, 묘사, 서두의 다양한 형태로 제시되고 있다. 이들은 사건의 전개 및 주제와 긴밀한 관계를 맺을 뿐만 아니라 작중 상황에 풍부한 뉘앙스를 부여해 줌으로써 詩的 抒情性을 느끼게 해준다. 넷째, 문맥과 결합에서는 話法의 양상을 살펴 보았다. 특히 황순원의 소설에서 중요한 문체상의 기법으로 사용되고 있는 自由間接話法의 미적 효과를 분석하였다. 자유간접화법은 內的獨白을 통한 인물의 내면의식 서술, 특정상황의 긴박성 조성, 과거사건의 현실감있는 전달의 효과외에 특정동사(느낌동사 및 '나직이 말하다' '중얼거리다' '속삭이다'등)의 前後에 사용됨으로써 인물들간의 은밀한 대화와 같은 효과를 부여해 주고 있다.;Stylistics starts from words and don't have its significance as a method of studying literatures until clarlifying the nature of novels and its aesthetic effects. In view of that, the studied how stylistic properties in "Trees on the Cliff" contribute to the nature of the text and its aesthetic effect. This study is analyzed by Leech's theory, in which he categorize as follows; 1) Lexical Categories, 2) Grammatical Categories, 3) figure of Speech, 4) Cohesion and Context. First , in lexical categories, I analyzed the characteristics of words in order to discuss the organic interrelations of words and structure of meaning, in which the injurer (the war) and the injured (the character) is in opposition. Each words participated effectively in the subject that is injured consciousness of the person suffered from the war. In individual words, especially trditional words and new-created words are appeared frequently. It realized the sense of interllection of the readers and give sense of freshness as permitting them from automatization of consciousness. in results the text are poetic lylics. His favorite word is the empty sky. It is related to the author's symbolic word, the 'eye', and is used to exppressing phychological state of person indirectly. Second, in grammatical categorizes, I analyzed the length of sentences, the rhythm of sentences and the tense. As a result of sampling study, he was frequently short sentense about 30 letters. He makes mood of novel emotionally by changing the paragraphs to atmosphere, not to logical trends. And he gives sense of speed and rhythm by dividing the story effect many paragraphs. By mixing the tense, he gives aesthetic effect to the sentences, such as sense of the real and vivid. Third, in figure of speech, I considered the aspect of trops and its aesthetic effect. Symbols, which are used as most perculiar stylistic device, are appeared in various kinds, such as image, portray, episode of opening in the 4 Chapters. They are closely related to the subject. And they give so much nuance in the text as readers to feel the lyric sense of poet. Forth, in cohesion and context. I considered the aspect of speech, especially style indirect libre. He uses it to describing the inner consciousness of character through interior monologue, to making the urgent situation of particular event, and to transferring the past events to the readers realistically. Also he uses it before and after certain verbs-feeling verbs and 'whisper', etc., so gives effect like secret dialogue between the characters to the text.
