醫學圖書館 藏書 評價에 關한 硏究

Abstract

도서관 장서는 각 도서관의 목적을 달성할 수 있고, 이용자의 요구충족 및 장서의 활용성을 증진시킬 수 있는 자료로써 구성되어야 한다. 효과적인 장서개발은 일련의 장서구성계획, 장서계획의 실천 및 장서평가 단계의 연속적인 반복을 통하여 이루어질 수 있다. 따라서 장서평가는 장서개발의 필수적인 한 과정이며, 그 결과를 새로운 장서계획에 반영함으로써 장서의 부적절성을 수정하도록 한다. 선진 외국의 도서관에서는 장서의 질을 높이기 위해 일찍부터 장서 평가에 관한 연구가 이루어져 왔으며, 우리나라의 경우 극히 최근에 장서평가의 필요성이 대두되기 시작하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 기존 장서의 평가를 통하여 앞으로의 보다 나은 장서개발을 위한 기초를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 따라서 서울대학교 의학도서관 장서를 대상으로 리스트-첵킹 방법을 이용하였다. 그리고 의학에 관한 10개의 주요 선정리스트 및 인용분석 리스트를 평가용 리스트로 선정하여 리스트의 수록 목록을 서울대학교 의학도서관 목록과 대조하여 봄으로써 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 대조된 양서 단행본(참고도서 포함) 1,335권 중 45.82% (판차는 다르나 같은 도서를 합한율 76.46%)가 소장되어 있다. 따라서 현 양서단행본 장서는 최신성이 결여되어 있다. 2. 대조된 전 잡지 1,214종 중 74.96%가 소장되어 있다. 그 중 구미잡지 864종 중 79.75%, 일본잡지 33종 중 9.10% 그리고 국내잡지 317종 중 68.77%의 소장율을 나타내었다. 따라서 잡지의 소장상황은 단행본에 비하여 우세한 편이나 대조된 잡지들이 기본 잡지와 국내잡지임을 고려할 때 완벽한 소장이 요구된다. 3. 대조된 모든 리스트의 목록 중 기본구입 항목에 관한 소장사항은 총 소장량에 비하여 모두 높은율을 보이고 있다. 따라서 도서 선정은 비교적 잘 이루어 졌음을 알 수 있다. 4. 양서 장서구성에 있어서 단행본 (소장율 46.82%)과 잡지(소장율 79.75%)의 균형이 크게 결여되어 있다. 5. 인용순위별 잡지의 소장상황은 대체로 인용빈도가 높을수록 높은 소장율을 나타내었다. 6. 전 장서의 각 주제별 소장상황은 모든 분야에서 유사한 비율로 소장되어 있다.;Library collection consists of the resources which can achieve the purpose of library, promote the availability of collection and suffice the desire of users. Through cyclical and self-improving collection planning, collection implementation and collection evaluation, an effective collection development is achieved. Thus a collection evaluation is an essential process of collection development and the result should reflect in a new collection planning. The purpose of this study is to provide a foundation of an effective evaluation Of collection for its development. A comprehensive evaluation of one library collection is complex and time consuming. List-checking is a practical approach to collection evaluation of restricted subjects. Therefore the list-checking approach was applied to Seoul National University Medical Library. First ten most important bibliographies were selected and checked against the library catalogue. The result of checking is summarized as follows: 1. 46.82% the bibliographies containing 1,335 book titles (including reference books), 76.46% of the titles in different editions were found. The data indicates the weakness in current boot collection. 2. 74.96% of the total checked 1,214 journal titles were possessed. Among them 79.75% of the 864 Euro-American journals, 9.1% of the 33 Japaneses journals and 68.77% of the 317 Korean journals were found. The data gave a good indication of strength in journals compared with books. 3. Holding rate of the items for initial purchase over the whole collection appeared high. Thus book selection was relatively well-done. 4. In western materials, a balance of the holding rate in books (46.82%) and journals (79.75%) is uneven. 5. In the order of cited numbers, the holding rate of the journals shows that those which were being cited frequently were possessed with high holding rate. 6. Holding rate of the whole collection in subject categories does not show any particular emphasis.
