Abstract

This thesis is to look into the general characteristics of the folk songs in Koryo dynasty that was written in "koryo History" in relation to the royal court music activity in those tines and is to elaborate on the changing trends of those songs in terms of its characteristics. In particular on the supplementary explanation of the characteristics of the existing Koryo Folk Songs in addition to the values of past discussions on the appearance of those songs in the late Koryo dynasty times. My discussions are organized as follows. Chapter Ⅱ clarifies the historic values of song books in "Koryo History" and enlightens the existing phase of folk songs in the early part and late part of the dynasty through looking into the time of apperance of those songs. This discussion is developed into the question of early appearance of folk songs which must have been made in the early period of the dynasty. Chapter Ⅲ looks into other folk songs, dividing satrical characteristics and realistic ones after clarifying the two aspects of those songs in relation to the royal court music activities of the dynasty. In further goes on the changing aspects of satrical characteristic with the weakening aspect of prase and eulogy. Chapter Ⅳ supplements the past discussions on the characteristics of folk songs through clarifying the difference between the existing folk songs and those written in music books. This effort is to get closer to the times when those songs were sung and extract the characteristics of changing aspects of those songs through the study of written words in the music books.;본고는 속악의 가사로 사용된 『고려사』 악지 소재 속요의 전반적 성격을 고려시대의 연악적 활동과 관련하여 규명하고, 제작시기 고찰을 통해서 드러난 악지 소재 속요의 전후기 존재양상을 고찰하면서 고려시대 향유된 속요의 성격적 변이양상을 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 특히 본 논의는 고려후기 속요의 형성과 관련된 기존논의에 대한 再考와 아울러 현존속요 중심의 성격논의를 보완하고 확충한다는 점에 논의전개의 중심을 두었다. 논의의 과정은 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장은 연구의 대상인 『고려사』 악지의 객관성 문제를 주로 하여 고려속요연구에 있어서 악지의 자료적 가치를 살펴보고, 악지 소재 속요의 제작시기 고찰을 통해 고려속요의 전후기 존재양상을 밝혔다. 이를 통해 고려전기에도 속요의 제작이 다수 이루어했음을 밝혀, 고려후기 중심의 속요형성 논의에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시하였다. Ⅲ장은 고려시대의 연악적 흐름과 관련하여 연악적 성격이 갖는 세 측면을 의례적 성격과 유희적 성격, 그리고 풍자적 성격으로 나누어 악지 소재 속요의 성격을 규명하였다. 그리고 성격의 변이를 송도성의 약화와 유희적 성격의 변질이라는 측면에서 파악하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 조선 전기 고려속요의 수용의 양상을 살피고, 악지 소재 속요와 현존속요와의 관계를 그 성격의 차이를 통해 규명하면서 현존속요 중심의 성격논의를 보완하였다. 이는 고려 당대에 향유된 실상에 보다 근접하기 위한 악지 소재 속요의 성격연구를 통해 현존속요 속에 투영된 변이와 지속의 성격들을 추출하고, 고려속요의 성격논의를 보다 심화할 수 있었다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다고 하겠다.
