시공의 연속체로서 음악과 디자인의 상호관련성에 관한 연구

Abstract

The simultaneity of space is obtained from the continuity of time. Music and design, the means of art expression, share an important feature in that they pursue time and space at the same time, thus, make people regard the environment not as a conception of separation but as a conception of unity. The environment in which we live shoud not only fullfill man's desire for perception, but also make him experience the beauty by enriching his emotion. In that sence, architecture and interior design is an way that leads man that leads man to feel his outer life as well as an expression of his inner life. Therefore, as a designer to plan and creat a future. I will focus my study on the correlation between music and design and show its possibility to make interior, architecture and environment in trio through my project. The process of the study is as follows. 1. The purpose, scope and method of the study are showed 2. The common features between music and architecture as ways to send message, conception and the formational principle are analyzed. - By regarding of music and architecture as systems of semiology, I found the common feature as means of communication. Also, I found that they share art language for the beauty in common. In the conception and formational principle, music and architecture, as factors of environment, can be analized by Gestalt's theory. - By applying the conception of time and space based on the physical theory, to music and design, I fond the fact that, in the light of environmental view, design, as a spatial art, has timeness. - In the factor of design, through the proportion, rhythm, color and symbolism, there are some correlations. 3. The project is designed on the bsais of these theories. First, our natural environment is analyzed on the basis of the oriental view. The form of orchestra music "Sansudo" that expresses the conception fo space is analyzed. - As a means of giving value of the beauty to architecture, harmonious environment with nature is created by finding its principles in nature itself. 4. Through these processes, I found that the environment can be regarded as an unity of time and space by analyzing the common feature of music and design.;공간적인 동시성은 시간적인 연속성으로 얻어진다. 예술표현 수단으로서의 음악과 디자인은 그들이 각각 시간예술과 공간예술이라는 매체의 특이성에도 불구하고 서로가, 시간성과 공간성을 동시에 추구하므로서 환경을 분리의 개념이 아닌 통합의 개념으로 인식시켜 준다는 점에서 다른 어떤 공통요소보다도 중요한 공통점을 갖는다고 하겠다. 사람이 사는 환경은 인간의 지각적 요구를 충만시키고 안정된 지각의 실마리를 부여함과 동시에 적절한 변화 속에서 사람의 감정을 풍부하게 하여 미를 경험하게 하는 것이어야 하는데 그런 의미에서 건축과 실내환경의 표현은 내적생명의 표현, 즉 인간 자신의 생명적 표현의 하나이며 인간의 삶을 느끼게 하는 방법의 표출이라고 하겠다. 그러므로 본 연구는 미래를 계획하고 창조해야하는 디자이너로서 실내-건축-환경의 새로운 형태를 정립하기 위한 방법으로서 음악과 디자인의 상호 관련성을 연구하여 작품을 통한 그 가능성을 제시하는데 목적이 있으며, 그 연구의 과정을 요약해 보면 다음과 같다. 1. 연구의 목적과 범위를 설정하고 기술하였다. 2. 음악과 건축의 공통점을 크게 메세지의 전달방법과 개념 및 구성원리의 측면에서 살펴보았다. · 음악과 건축을 하나의 기호체계로 봄으로서 커뮤니케이션 수단으로서의 공통점을 찾아 보았고, 또한 그둘은 예술의 범주내에서 구성요소의 미를 추구하는 예술언어를 공통적으로 갖고 있음을 알 수 있었다. · 개념과 구성원리에 있어서는 환경을 구성하는 구성요소로서 음과 조형물은 게슈탈트 이론을 통하여 음과 시각의 형태분석이 가능하며, · 물리학이론에 기반을 둔 시간과 공간의 개념을 음악과 디자인에 적용을함으로서, 음악은 시간예술로서 공간성을 담고 있고, 환경적 관점에서의 디자인은 공간예술로서 시간성을 가지고 있음을 발견하였다. · 구성요소에 있어서는 비례, 리듬, 색채 및 형식 그리고 상징성을 통하여 서로 상관성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 3. 이와같은 이론들을 통하여 타당성을 갖고자 그 모델로서 음악적 공간을 담은 문화예술센터를 계획하였다. · 먼저 동양의 자연관을 토대로 우리의 자연환경을 분석하였고 · 그것에 기반을 두고 공간을 표현한 오케스트라곡 산수도(山水圖)의 형태를 분석하였으며 · 조형물의 미적가치를 부여하기 위한 방법으로 그 원리를 자연의 형태와 자연물에서 발견하므로서 자연과 조화할 수 있는 환경을 창조하고자 하였다. 4. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 환경은 시간성과 공간성을 동시에 지닌 통합체로서 인식될 수 있으며 그것은 음악과 디자인의 공통성을 분석하므로서 가능할 수 있음을 발견하였다.
