「남훈태평가」를 통해 본 19世紀 詩調의 變貌樣相

Abstract

본고는 18世紀이후 擔當層의 擴大를 보인 시조장르가 19世紀에는 어떤 樣相으로 나타나며 이후 이어지는 時調樣相라는 어떤 連繼住 을 갖는지, 그 意義를 考寮한 作業이다. 「남훈□평가」(1863. 坊刻本 時調集)의 資料的 價値에 注目하여 이에 나타난 現象을 論議의 中心資料로 삼았다. 硏究結果을 要約하면 다음과 같다. Ⅲ장에서는 「남훈□평가」에 나타난 作品樣相의 고찰을 통해, 19世紀時調의 變貌樣相과 性格을 파악하였다. 旣存作品을 變容하는 方式과 여타 장르와 모티브를 共有하는 作品이 두드러진다는 점에서, 담당층의 時調創作水準과 시조장르에 대한 基本的 認識이 달라졌음을 지적하였다. 語調와 表現의 變化 · 主情的 主題의 表出 · 日常生活과 밀착된 素材는 通俗的 民謠世界를 志向하는 담당층의 文學的 趣向을 반영한 것이다. 이를 통해 19世紀에는 시조담당층이 下向化되고 庶民的 美意識을 表出함에 따라, 시조장르가 時調形式을 유지하면서도 理念的 基盤에서 멀어지고 있음을 밝혔다. 바로 이점에서 「남훈□평가」가 사설시조의 장르적 특성을 繼承하면서 廣義의 時調를 形成하는 過程에 있음이 드러났다. Ⅳ장에서는 앞서 살핀 時調性格의 變貌要因을 두가지 側面에서 고찰하였다. 첫째, 19世紀 社會 · 經濟的 變化에 따라 商業的 文化風土가 造成된 結果, 시조장르의 경우에도 예술의 전반적 흐름에 부응하며 創作과 受容이 분리되는 과정을 보였다. 둘째, 時調集으로서 갖는 性格이 庶民層을 대상으로 한 營業的 出版圖書라는 점에서 직접적 요인을 지적하였다. 「남훈□평가」의 등장은 商業的 營利追求의 屬性이 시조장르의 변질을 가속화하는 부정적 측면과 時調享受層의 범위를 크게 확대시켜 時調의 大衆化에 기여하는 긍정적 측면을 동시에 나타냈다. Ⅴ장에서는 19世紀 時調의 性格이 이후 어떤 樣相으로 나타나는지를 중점적으로 고찰하였다. 첫째, 時調創作과 享受가 日常生活과 보다 밀착됨으로써, 理念과 무관해지는 당대 문학경향과 軌를 같이하는 作品樣相을 나타냈다. 둘째, 담당층의 확대와 함께 가창장르의 공유범위가 확대되면서 시가장르의 교섭현상과 맥이 닿고 있었다. 그러므로, 「남훈□평가」를 통해본 19世紀 時調의 變貌樣相은 이시기 전반적으로 진행되는 大衆文學의 形成過程과 궤를 같이하는 普遍的 樣相으로 파악할 수 있으며, 시조장르가 大衆化되는 과정을 나타낸다는 점에 意義를 가진다.;This thesis tries to study the transformed aspects of the 19th century "Sijo" genre which has widened its literary score since the 18th century and the significance of the transformation, discussing how the aspects are related with the ensuing transformation. This thesis focuses all its attention on Namhuntaepyungga(1863, Banggakbon, Sijo Collection. 남훈□평가) for its philological significance. the results ate as follows : Chapter Ⅲ of this thesis deals with the characteristics of the transformed Sijo in the 19th century, analyzing the way of transformation and the unifying motives in Namhuntaepyungga, which conseauently shows the refined achievements of the group of people concerned with Sijo as well as the change of their senses of the Sijo genre. The poetic theme of Sijo, with the change of tone and literary style and with its object from ordinary life, reflects the writer's literary interest in the world of popular ballads. This chapter also remarks that the Sijo genre has given its philosophical basis away, in spite of its solid form, which is resulted from the descending of the Sijo writer into the low class one with a simple aesthetic sense. Charter Ⅳ examines what two elements make the Sijo genie transfomed. Firstly, the pervasive commercialism emerged from the change of social and economic conditions forces the undifferentiated system between writer and reader of Sijo, ]ike the other litery genres, to be separated. Secondly, the primary clement is considered by the characteristics of Namhuntaepyungga on the ground that "Banggakbon" is a commercial publication for account of the popular. There appear two aspects in Namhuntae pyungga. While the negative aspect is that the attitude to profitmaking accelerates degeneration of the Sijo genre, this publication affirmatively contributes to Sijo's growing popular. Chapter Ⅴ shows how the characterisitics of the 19th century Sijo are developed later on. At first, one of the transformed aspects of to its contemporary literary trend going out of the philosophical basis. Secondly, increasing people concerned with the Siio genre and enlarging the unifying range between chant genres are partly related with the reciprocal influence between verse genres. To conclude, it is noted that the transformed aspects of the 19th century Sijo genre, which have to do with the general trend of establishing a popular literature, present a process of its growing popular.
