Firenze에 있어서 하층길드 정권(Arti Minori, 1378-1382)의 성립과정

Abstract

이 논문에서는 12세기 경 이탈리아에서 자율적인 꼼뮨이 형성된 이래, 정치, 사회적인 면에서 중요한 역할을 담당했던 길드에 촛점을 맞추고 있다. 길드는 피렌체 경제 활동의 기반이었을 뿐만아니라, 그 조직과 회원권은 피렌체 꼼뮨 정치의 중요한 기반이 되고 있었다. 피렌체에 있어 길드는 자치주의와 평등주의를 가장 큰 특징으로 하고 있었다. 이러한 개념은 피렌체 길드 공화주의의 근본 개념으로 정착하게 되며, 길드 멤버쉽 자체는 정치 참여의 자격이 되었다. 그러나 길드의 위와 같은 이상적인 두 개념은 사회적, 정치적 현실과 상당한 괴리가 있었음이 사실이다. 각 길드간의, 계층화 현상이 나타나고 있었으며, 길드 조직의 폐쇄적 성향도 심각하게 드러나고 있었다. 이러한 길드 체제의 문제점은 피렌체 꼼뮨 정치로 그대로 연결되어, 대 길드에 의해 관직이 독점되고 다수의 非길드 인을 정치참여로 부터 소외시키고 있다. 이러한 문제점들은 특히 14세기 중반 이후부터 심각하게 드러난다. 이 당시 피렌체는 이미 상업과 산업의 발달로 말미암아 자본주의적인 경제 구조를 취하고 있었으며, 이에 따라 중산층과 대규모 노동자 층이 대두하게 된다. 그러므로 변화된 사회 구조와 폐쇄적이며 정태적인 정치 구조와의 갈등은 필연적인 현상이었던 것으로 보인다. 기존의 길드와 정치 체제가 지닌 독점적, 폐쇄적 성격에 대한 개혁은, 1378年 6月 24日에서 부터 1382年 1月 20日에 이르기까지의 Ciompi혁명과 하층 길드 정권의 성립에서 뚜렷이 나타난다. 이 두 시도를 통해 세력 관계에 중대한 변혁이 일어 났으며, 피렌체 역사상 최초로 노동자들이 정치적 참여권을 얻게 된다. 사실 Ciompi 혁명과 하층 길드 정권시기의 개혁은, 14세기라는 시대적 배경으로 인한 한계점을 많이 가지고 있었다. 그러나 이러한 점에도 불구하고 당시 피렌체 인들은 그들이 살고 있는 사회의 모순성을 인식하고 있었으며, 조직적으로 개혁 의지를 표출했다. 이와 같은 점에서 르네상스 초기 피렌체의 근대적 면모를 인식할 수 있으리라 생각된다.;This thesis focuses on the guilds which took very important Part in political and social life since the autonomous commune had established in twelfth century florence. The guilds were the basis of Florentine economic life and, their system and membership were the source of communal politics. The principles of corporatism and equality were the most obvious characteristics of Florentine guilds system. These priciples became foundation of the guild republicanism, and the guild membership itself became the right to participate in the government. In fact, these two idealistic principles, however, were seriously isolated from the social and political reality. There were the phenomena of classification and lock-out in the guilds system, that is ; her public offices were monopolized by major guildmen and non-guildmen had been eliminated from the political participation. These problems were getting more serious since mid-fourteenth century. florence had a capitalistic economic system, owing to the brilliant development of commerce and industry. And the middle class and Laboring class had been formed. Therefore, it seems to be inevitable that this changed social system had a conflict with the existing political system which was closed and static. The Ciompi Revolution and the Arti Minori Regime in the second half of fourteenth century were the attempts to reform the monopolistic and closed characters of the existing systems. Through these attempts, the noteworthy changes in power relations accomplished and Laborers could acquire the political right for the first time in the entire Florentine history. In fact, there were many limitations in these reforms because of the circumstances of fourteenth century. In spite of those limitations. Florentines realised clearly that their society had a serious contradiction. At this point, we can see the modern looks of the early Renaissance Florence.
