한복에 있어서 꽃을 소재로 한 조형적 표현 연구

Abstract

The modern society is characterized by organization and diversification that demand the diversified occupation and the systematic and specialized knowledge in a society as the distinctive tendency of the modern industrial society. The tendency has exerted influence on the circle of the clothing industry of our country without exception, and recently the necessity of the closer industrial educational cooperation has been emphasized. In view of the present production situation of Korean dress in our country from that aspect, a piece of korean dress, Chima-Jogori, that has been designed, dyed and made through the technique of handicraft by a specialist herself who specializes in dyeing, has gained public favor. The present research is going to suggest a conclusion that has been drawn from the theoretical study and productions of works for the purpose of emphasizing the necessity of participation in the clothing industry by specialist and of indicating a concrete way for the development of the clothing culture. The Korean dress, that has been made under the mass production system of today has came into question in the light of its uniformity and simplicity. So, the present researcher has tried to make a counterproposal for more original and formative design of Korean dress, emerging from the present situation. For the purpose, flower was selected that is harmonious with the image of Korean costume as a design motive, and the method of expression of the natural and subtlee color sense of the natural dyestuff of our country in the past through chemical dyestuff has been studied. First of all, in the study of the theoretical background, the present research examined the general character of the formative beauty of Korean dress, made the historical research of color and pattern of Korean dress as formative factors of composition, and finally commented on the modern style of Korean dress. The study of the theoretical study was a sort of preparatory study for the practical production of works of the present researcher. The following are conclusions that were drawn from the actual production of works based on the study. First, the flowers that were expressed diversely according to the subjectiviy of the present researcher in the fixed type of Chima-Jogori, were proper materials for enhancing the formative effect. Second, the Korean dress that was made making the best use of "Nap-Bang-Yum ＆ Yoo-Sung-Bang-Yum " was right for expressing the feeling and delicacy of flowers as it enabled the detailed lines to be expressed. Third, the work, whose making method was one design for one piece, was successful a heightening the originality and formative character of Korean dress of today that became uniform due to mass production. Accordingly, for the development of the traditional costumes of our country, the specialists who have received the education of handiwork, have to make the best use of the technique of handiwork to revive the beauty of the traditional Korean dress and should elevate the quality level Of Korean dress through the recreation and development of it in the traditional costumes of today.;현대 사회는 조직화, 세분화를 특징으로 한다. 이는 사회 속에서의 다양한 직업과 순수 연구 분야에 있어서의 체계적이고 전문적인 지식을 요구하는 현대 산업 사회의 현저한 경향이다. 이러한 경향은 우리 나라 복식 산업에도 예외없이 적용되어 근자에는 더욱 밀착된 산학 협동의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 우리 나라 한복 제작의 상황을 살펴보면, 염색을 연구하는 전문인이 치마 저고리에 직접 디자인하고, 염색하여 수공예적인 기법으로 일품 제작한 작품이 호평을 받고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구자는 복식 산업에 있어서 전문가의 참여의 필요성을 강조하고, 복식 문화의 발전을 위한 구체적인 방법을 시사하려는 의도에서 이론적 연구와 작품의 제작을 통해 얻어진 나름대로의 결론을 제시하고자 한다. 현대의 대량 생산 체계 속에서 제작된 한복은 디자인이 다소 획일적이고 단순하다는 점에서 다양성이 부족하여, 이에 본 연구자는 이러한 상황을 지양하여 현대의 한복에 보다 독창적이고 조형성 있는 디자인을 위한 하나의 대안을 제시하려는 것이다. 산업 직물에서 꽃패턴은 필수불가결한 요소인 것 처럼 우리 나라 한복의 이미지와 잘 어울리는 디자인의 모티브로 '꽃'을 선택하고, 화학 염료를 통해, 가능한 한 옛날 우리 나라의 천연염료의 자연스럽고 은은한 색감을 표현할 수 있게 하는 방법을 연구해 보았다. 이에 본 연구자는 먼저 이론적 배경에 대한 연구에서 한복의 조형미가 지니는 일반적 특징을 살펴보고, 한복의 조형적 구성 요소로서의 색채, 문양에 대한 역사적 고찰을 하였으며, 마지막으로 현대적 한복의 형태에 관하여 언급하였다. 이러한 이론적 배경에 대한 고찰은 본 연구자의 작품 제작을 위한 전 단계의 연구 작업이었으며, 이를 바탕으로 하여 실제로 작품 제작을 함으로써 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 치마 저고리라는 정해진 형태에서 연구자의 주관에 따라 다양하게 표현한 꽃은 연구자의 의도대로 조형적 효과를 높이는데 있어서 적절한 소재였다. 둘째, 납방염법과 유성방염법(구타)을 사용해서 제작된 한복은 세밀한 선의 구사가 가능함으로써, 꽃의 섬세함과 느낌을 표현하는데 알맞은 기법이었다. 세째, 일품 제작으로 완성된 작품은, 현대 기계 사회에서 대량으로 생산되어 획일화 되어있는 오늘날의 한복에 다양성과 독창성을 높이는데 있어서 효과적이었다. 따라서 우리의 전통 복식의 발전을 위해서는 공예 교육을 받은 전문인이 수공예적 기법을 한복의 제작에 활용함으로써 우리 고유의 한복의 미를 되살리고, 이를 현대의 전통 복식에서 재창조, 발전시킴으로써 한복의 질적 수준을 향상시켜야 한고 생각한다.
