Abstract

문학 작품을 연구함에 있어 사회적 현실과 텍스트가 어떠한 관련을 갖는가에 중점을 둘 때 김유정의 소설은 그러한 양상을 살펴보기에 적절하다. 왜냐하면 그의 소설은 부정적인 당대 현실을 긍정적으로 형상화하고 있기 때문이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 현실에 대한 심리적 방어기제의 문학적 특성, 현실 뒤집기의 문학적 특성을 잘 드러내 주는 바흐찐(M.Bakhtin)의 카니발(Carnival)이론을 중심으로 김유정의 소설을 검토하였다. 카니발은 공식적인 것이나 금기로부터의 해방을 의미하는 축제이므로, 카니발적 세계는 '거꾸로 된 세계'이다. 따라서 카니발적 구조는 전환성, 이중성, 상대성을 중심으로 하여, 격하의 원리, 물질적인 육체 원리, 재생의 원리, 양가성의 원리 등이 강조되는 것이다. 그러므로 본 연구는 「안해」를 모델 작품으로 하여, 김 유정의 소설에 나타난 카니발적 구조의 특성을 살펴보았다. 여기서 인물·행위·시공성의 세 층위가 구체적인 분석의 틀로 제시될 수 있었다. 먼저 인물층위에서의 카니발적 구조는 수직축과 수평축으로 나누어 고찰되었다. 수직축에서는 '上'의 위치에 있던 인물들이 格下되고 '下'의 위치에 있던 인물들이 格上되어, 기존의 관습상 인정되었던 위계질서가 전도됨을 보여주었다. 그리고 수평축에서는 男과 女의 성격적 특성 및 공간적 기능이 전도됨을 살펴보았으며, 이와 더불어 겉으로 드러난 모습과 속으로 감춰진 모습이 상반됨을 가면의 이중적 성격과 연결시켜 살펴보았다. 행위층위에서의 카니발적 구조는 먼저 도덕을 대표하는 '생활하다'의 행위가 脫冠되고, '본능'을 대표하는 '생존하다'의 행위가 戴冠되는 양상을 살펴보았다. 또한 현실의 부정축을 나타내는 '울다'의 행위가 비현실의 긍정축을 나타내는 '웃다'의 행위와 결합함으로써 카니발적 양가성을 보여주는 양상, 그리고 인물과 서술자, 독자나 청자의 구체적인 '말'이 서로 침투하는 '말하다'와 '듣다'의 多聲的 양상 등을 살펴보았다. 또한 카니발적 時空性의 층위에서는 변형과 교체, 생성의 이미지에 중점을 두어 하강과 상승을 통한 수직적 이동구조, 前·後의 변화를 통한 수평적 이동구조에 초점을 맞추어 고찰하였다. 하강구조를 보이는 것은 신체공간으로서 上部인 '머리'나 '눈'보다는 下部인 '입'과 '배', '자궁', '생식기관' 등이 강조되는 양상을 나타내고 있다. 이에 반해 금캐기나, 꿈꾸기(공상하기), 도박하기 등으로 나타나는 '놀이'의 시공성은 불행한 현실에서 행복한 비현실의 공간으로 초월하게 해주는 상승구조를 보였다. 또한 수평적 이동구조는 변화하기 쉬운 '點'과 '線'(길)의 형태로 나타나면서, 상황의 급격한 전환 및 변형, 기대와 결과의 상반에서 오는 의외성의 논리 등을 보여 주었다. 이상과 같은 카니발적 구조의 분석을 통해, 김유정의 문학이 부정적인 현실을 긍정적으로 극복하려는 건강성을 지녔다는 것과 문학성과 사회성을 함께 고려한 종합적인 안목을 가졌음을 밝혀내었다.;When we pay attention to how the social realities and the text are related to each other, in studying a literary work, Yu-Jung Kim's novel emerges as an appropriate typical model for the mode of the relation, for his novel accepts positively negative realities of the time. Thus, his novel was reviewed in this study centered around the M. Bakhtin's carnival theory which shows well to us the literary characteristics of psychologically reality-defensive talent and reality-reversion. The carnivalistic world is 'a world reversed', since it is formal but a festival meaning the deliverance from taboo. Hence, the carnivalistic structure may be said emphasizing principles of degradaton, materialistic bodism, revival and ambivalence based on convertibility, duality and relativity. Therefore, the study investigated in the characteristics of the carnivalistic structure of his novel making a model of his An-Hae. And here, three kinds of analysis situs-character, behavior and chronotope could be proposed as a concrete frame of analytical reference. The carnivalistic structure in character analysis situs was observed divided with vertical and horizontal ares. First for the vertical are, characters situated higher appeared degradating to lower position and lower situated characters appeared ascending to higher showing a conversion of existing grades of rank customed. And, them, for the horizontal axe, male and female characteristic individualities and spacio-functions were shown to do converted, and, basides with this, the fact that external appearances and innermost hidden figures are contrasted dramatically was examined in connection to the dual character of mask. For the carnivalistic structure in behavior analysis situs, it was seen that the behavior of 'to live' that representing 'morality' was unmasked and the behavior of 'to survive' representing 'instinct' was put on again. Also seen wire that the act of 'to tear' representing a negative axe of reality was connected together with the act of 'to smile' representing a positive are of unreality showing to us the carnivalistic ambivalence, and that concrete utterances of characters and narrators, readers and hearers were penetrating into among the others - a multivocal mode of 'saying' and 'hearing.' And, for the carnivalistic sturcture of chronotopic analysis situs, image of transformation, exchange and generation were concentrated to examine the vertical turnover system by way of descend and ascend, and the horizontal turnover system by way of descend and ascend, and the horizontal turnover system by way of contextual change. Showing descending structure was bodily spaces emphasizing not upper parts of 'the head' or 'the eyes' but lower parts including 'the lips', 'the stomach', 'the womb', and 'the genital organs'. Compared with this was the space time of 'playing' appeared in such shape as gold-digging, dreaming and gambling which showed an a scending structure enabling misfortunate realities covered by the space of happy unreality. Also, in horizontal structure, variable 'points' and 'lines' were shaped to provide a sort of logos of unexpectedness coming from the radical conversion and transformation of any situation and the reciprocity between expectation and result. It was revealed, conclusively, that Yu-jung Kim's novel is health-minded with a spirit to overcome negative realities with fresh, positive perspective, together with a fact that his novels pay due regard literary and social contexts with a synthetic vision.
