Abstract

본 연구는 개화기에 이르러 가사장르가 어떠한 양상으로 나타나며 당시 가사장르의 선택이 지니는 의미는 무엇인지를 규명해 보고자 시도되었다. 대상자료로 선택한 대한매일신보 소재 가사는 이전 시기 및 동시기의 타가사작품과 비교해 볼 때 특징적 면모를 보여 주며 시대성과 긴밀한 연관을 지닌다는 점에서 자료적 가치를 지닌다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장에서는 논의의 전제로서 대한매일신보가사가 발표매체의 이원화에 의해서 국문판과 국한문판에 동시에 게재되고 있으며 양 신문에 나타나는 작품양상의 차이점을 고찰해 보았다. 대상독자층이 다른 두 신문에 가사가 게재되면서 작품세계의 이중적 면모와 연관되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. Ⅲ장에서는 대한매일신보가사의 특성으로 지적될 수 있는 대중지향적 면모에 대해서 살펴 보았다. 전통적 표현기법들을 통해서 구체적으로 현실을 비판하고 있는 양상은 시평적 성격을 지니고 있으면서도 관념성이 약화되는 결과를 가져오고 있다. 한편, 이러한 작품세계의 대중지향성은 경세적 이념에 근거한 지식인들의 의식적인 창작으로 지식인 문학적 성격을 지니고 있음을 살펴 보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 대한매일신보가사의 작품세계를 형성하게 된 요인으로 개신유학자로서의 작자층의 성격과 발표매체의 성격을 고찰하였다. 그리고 개화기의 가사장르의 위치와 가사장르가 선택되게 된 배경을 살펴보았다. 그 중 대한매일신보가사는 전통양식의 근대적 변용의 의미를 지니면서 사대부계층의 의식적 동향과 조응해 온 가사문학의 흐름을 잇고 있음을 고찰하였다. 이상의 논의를 통해서 일견 특이한 면모를 보여 주는 대한매일신보가사가 전대가사의 흐름의 지속으로 시대적 요구에 부응한 작품세계를 형성하고 있음을 규명하였다. 특히 개화기에 가사장르가 활용된 의미를 살펴 봄으로써 이후 가사장르의 향방을 점검해 볼 수 있었다.;This thesis tries to research the transformed aspects of gasa genre and the reason why the gasa genre is adopted in the enlightened period, forcusing on the Korea Daily News gasa. Comparing with the ones of the prior period and others of the contemporary period, the Korea Daily News gasa was related with the character of that age in depth. So is it worthy to be researched. This thesis comprise followings. chapter Ⅱ deals with the fact that the korea Daily News gasa is published in two way owing to the same reason in media, in korea letter and korea-chinese letter. Besides, the differenccs of the gasa on the two papers it the literary characteristics are considered. In chapter Ⅲ, through the cliscussion on the aspect of the korea Daily News gasa, it is found to have the characteristic being oriented to common people. And it was another trend that traditional expression was used in order to criticize the real. While the trend having the criticism, it results in diminishing the idealism. It is noted that these characteristics were made by the intellect of the age. In chapter Ⅳ, it is found that there were two factors by which the literary characteristics of the Korea Daily News gasa were determined. The one is thought that the writer was gaeshinyuhakja (개신유학자) and the other that the Korea Daily News gasa were published in two media. And this chapter deals with the status of the gasa genre in the enlightened period and the reason why the gasa genre was adopted. As a result, it is noted that the Korea Daily News gasa had the modernly transformed form of the traditional and follows the stream of gasa literature corresponding to the sadaebu's (사대부) consciousness. In the above study, it is pointed that the Korea Daily news gasa had formed a unique literature following the former gasa and satisfying the social demand. Especially, the study on the reason why gasa genre was adopted in the enlightened period is expected to indicate the flows in the post-enlightened age.
