朴泰遠 小說의 敍述構造 分析

Abstract

朴泰遠은 1930년대에 활발한 작품 활동으로 문단의 주목을 받았던 작가이며, 문학사에서도 30대의 중요 작가로 평가되었다. 그러나 정작 그에 대한 연구는 분단이라는 우리의 현실 때문에 기피되어져 왔다. 본 연구는 朴泰遠에 대한 연구의 필요성을 인식하면서, 그의 서술 구조의 특성 및 의미를 새롭게 이해하려는 의도에서 출발하였다. 연구방법은 話者의 위치, 지위, 기술방법을 포함하는 광의의 시점 개중점을 두었다. Ⅱ장에서는「小說家 仇甫氏의 一日」을 분석하였다. 작가, 화자, 등장인물은 동일성의 축에 있으며, 공간 인식은 주인공의 공간적틀을 따르고 있다. 시간 구성에 있어서는 회상과 내적 성찰을 서술하는 역전 및 정지의 기법과, 이전의 한국 소설에서 보기 드문 연상기법 등 자유로운 시간 기법을 구사하고 있음을 살폈다. 또한, 접속어의 과도한 사용으로 인한 완만한 문장의 흐름과, '가다' '보다' '생각하다','느끼다'로 이어지는 작품의 의미 궁조 간접적 언술과 간접적 자유언술이 주로 사용되는 구문의 특징을 밝혔다. 이와 같은 기법의 특성은 작가의식과 연결되는데, 이는 관념 속에서 자유로운 지식인의 의식구조를 드러내는 것이며, 작가는 이같은 지식인의 세계관에 밀접해 있음을 보여준다. Ⅲ「川邊風景」을 위와같은 순서에 의하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 화자와 작가는 동일성을 이루나 화자와 등장인물들은 인물 유형에 따라 다양한 거리를 보여주고 있다. 화자의 공관 역시 장면의 안과 밖을 넘나들며 자유롭게 선택된다. 시간 구성은, 1년이라는 시간을 다루기 위한 시간의 생략과 요약, 특정 인물을 다룰 때 취해지는 시간의 역전, 작가의 개입에 의한 시간 역전 등이 사용되며 한 시간에 여러 공간을 왕래하는 공간 몽타쥬 기법이 행해진다. 구문의 특성은 화자 자신의 언술에 인물의 직접 언어가 첨가되며, 문체적 효과로써 아이러니가 발생하고 있다. 「川邊風景」이 보여주는 세계는 1년이라는 인생의 한 단위 속에서 행복과 불행을 겪으며 살아가는 서민들의 삶이다. 「小說家 仇甫氏一日」에서 표면적 관찰에 그치던 것이 한층 심층적으로 표현된 것은 작가의식의 확대라 볼 수 있다. Ⅳ장에서는 30년대 발표된 대부분의 작품을 분석 대상으로 하여 서술 기법의 특성을 밝혔다. 「川邊風景」을 기준으로 그 이전은 前期, 그 이후를 後期 作品으로 구분하여 살핀 결과, 화자와 인물의 관계는 동일성에서 분리로 이동하며 이 관계는 등장인물의 신분 및 다루는 세계와 연관됨을 밝혔다. 공간적 입장은 단일 인물에 고정된 공간에서 자유로운 이동으로 변화한다. 시간 구성은 후기로 갈수록 단순한 경향을 보이고 있으나 전작품에 걸친 특이한 시간 기법은 작품세계의 한 특징을 이룬다. 구문의 변화를 보면 전기에는 간접적 언술, 직접적 자유언술이 두드러지다가 후기에 이르면 화자 자신의 언술 및 인물의 직접 언어로 이루어져 전통적인 소설의 언술 방식을 따름을 알 수있다. 결국 위의 분석을 통해 박태원 소설의 서술기법과 내용의 상관관계를 밝혔고, 전기와 후기로 구분되는 작품세계의 변화는 일시에 이루어지는 변화가 아니라, 작가의식의 점진적 확대이며 그에따라 서술기법도 변화됨을 알 수 있었다.;Park Tae-won (朴泰遠)is one of the important writers in 1930's in the History of Korean literature. Nevertheless the study on jim has been restricted because our country has been divided into two, Northe Korea and South Korea and he selected the former. Recognizing the necessity of the study on him, this study intends to understand the characteristics and significance of his narrative structure newly. I used the concept of point of view in a broad senese including narrator's stance, narrator's status, and narrative techniques in order to show the writer's consciousness throughout his narrative attitude. In Chapter Ⅲ, the novel "A Novelist, Mr.Ku-bo's One Day"(小說家 仇甫氏의 一日)is examined. I analysed the narrator's character, narrator's space, time composition and dicourse type. As a result, I could find that this novel implied the consciousness of a liberal intellectual in the ideal world and that the writer was close to the world view of the intellectual. In Chapter Ⅲ, the "Riverside Scenery" (川邊風景)is analysed. I explained the narrative techniques such as various narrators, the free movement in space, the traits of time composition, the mode of expression and effect of irony. As a result, I disclosed that these techniques are proper to describe various groups living happily of unhappily in a year. In Chapter Ⅳ, most works published in 1930's are analysed I pointed out the characteristics of the narrative techniques and the process of development in them. The results are so follows. The world of his works is divided into two centerings on the novel "Riverside Scenery." The earlier novels are common in the traits of "A Novelist, Mr. Ku-bo's One Day" and the writer's conciousness in seen to be close to the idealism of the intellectual. Meanwhile in his later novels, his conciousness tends to enlarge and concerns more about the less well-to-do townsfolk. Throughout these analyses, the interrelationship beween the narrative techniques and contents in the novels of park Tae-won is clarified. And also it could be found that a change between his earlier novels and later novels was not made at once but that meant the gradual enlargement of the writer's consciousess and the change of the narrative techniques ard closely related with the change of the contents.
