FRANCIS POULENC의 Sonate pour Clarinette et Piano에 대한 연구분석

Abstract

프랑스의 작곡가겸 pianist인 Francis Poulenc (1899-1963)은 20세기 프랑스 음악을 대표하는 작곡자중 한사람으로 오페라, 합창, 가곡을 포함하여, 성악곡, 기악곡 실내악곡, 등 150여 곡의 작품이 있으며, 후에는 영화음악까지 모든 전반에 걸쳐 활발한 음악적 활동을 보여주었다. 특히 Erick Satie를 중심으로 결성된 'Les six'중 그 일원으로 활동하며 낭만주의음악과 인상주의음악에 반대하고, 명료한 선율과 대위법, 간결한 형식을 주장했다. Poulenc은 프랑스 음악의 '선율' 분야에서 가장 두드러진 작곡자중 한사람으로, 그의 작품은 그당시 유행하던 무조음악이나 음렬음악이 아닌 전통적 화성을 밑바탕으로 한 단순하면서도 아름답고 서정적인 선율중심의 신고전주의 음악적 특징을 보여준다. 본 논문은 Francis Poulenc(1899-1963)의 신고전주의적인 음악을 잘 나타내는 Clarinet Sonata를 연구 분석하여 작곡자의 특성을 고찰해 보고자한다. 이 곡은 빠름-느림-빠름의 구조를 갖는 전형적인 소나타형식으로 3악장으로 이루어졌다. 1악장-Allegro Tristamente, 2악장-Romanza, 3악장-Allegro Con Fuoco 로 각 악장에 빠르기와 곡의 분위기를 지정하는 용어가 사용되었다. 뚜렷한 주제선율의 순환형식으로, 선율은 그 중심조성만을 바꿔가며 진행된다. 4 Octave에 걸친 넓은 음역의 사용, 이조나 역행, 음정의 다양화, 일정한 리듬 등이 보여지며 경쾌하게 진행된다.;Francis Poulenc(1899-1963) as a composer and pianist produced a multitude of songs in the early 20th century. He could be considered as one of the most influential composers of modern French music. Like most French composers of his generation, Poulenc fell under the influences of Stravinsky and Satie. Yet his works differ from theirs. Poulenc's compositions can be immediately identified by its vivacious colors, strong clear rhythms, and novel diatonic harmonies, which are the traits of neo-classism. The neo-classism is a style, which combines both classical factors of form and structure, also modern factors of harmony and rhythm. Poulenc was part of 'Les Six' and informal confederation of French composers, who wanted to divorce both Impressionism and Romanticism of French music. Artistically, they allied themselves with Cubism. In literature, they found themselves in common with the French surrealists Cocteau, Eluard, and Apollinaire. Poulenc composed about 150 works, including piano music, orchestral music, opera and vocal music. His achievements are valued as a brokage of boundary between secular music and pure music. Poulenc's "Senate pour Clarinette et Piano" is well known to clarinetists as a representative of modern music. It was composed to cherish his colleague, Arthur Honegger in 1962. With its simple Sonata form and rich harmonies in progression, "Senate pour Clarinette et Piano" keeps its timeless popularity. It is meaningful to study such work as "Senate pour Clarinette et Piano" by Poulenc at this time, when the 20th century French music is becoming the focus of public interest in Korean musical circles. Moreover, this study could assist those, who have deeper desire to understand modern music.
