F. Schubert의 「Piano Sonata in A Major D.664」에 관한 연구

Abstract

19세기는 프랑스 혁명과 산업 혁명으로 인한 정치적·경제적 격변기였으며 그 영향은 인간의 사상과 예술에까지 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 볼테르(F. M. h. Voltaire 1694-1778)와 루소(J. J. Rousseau 1712-1778)가 자유주의 사상을 주장하였고, 문학에서는 질풍 노도 운동(Strum und Drang)의 영향으로 인간의 낭만성이 중요시되었다. 미술에서는 고전적 조화와 형식의 미를 이상으로 한 앙그로(J. A. D Ingres 1780-1867)에 반하여 드라크로아(E. Delacroix 1798-1863)가 인간의 감정과 열정을 추구함으로 인해 낭만주의가 본격적으로 시작되었다. 음악에서는 19세기 초에 들어서면서 주관성과 개성존중, 작곡가의 사상과 내적 감정을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 음악어법들이 나타나게 되었다. 이러한 상황에서 활동한 슈베르트(Franz Peter Schubert, 1797-1828)는 음악에 있어서 고전주의적 경향과 낭만주의적 경향을 종합하는데 주도적인 역할을 하였다. 슈베르트는 성악음악에서 660곡 정도의 가곡을 작곡하고 독일가곡(Lied)의 새로운 장을 여는 괄목할만한 업적을 이루었다. 또한, 그는 교향곡, 실내악곡, 미사곡, 오페라, 독주곡에 이르기까지 음악형식의 많은 분야에서 다양한 작품을 작곡하였을 뿐만 아니라 인간의 자연스러운 감정을 표현하는 선율과 대범하고 극적인 화성, 그리고 음악적인 독창성이 담긴 훌륭한 작품들을 많이 남겼다. 특히 슈베르트의 피아노 소나타는 고전주의적 형식 위에 슈베르트만의 서정적 선율과 풍부한 화성의 색채감을 도입함으로써 새로운 낭만주의 소나타의 표본을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 슈베르트의 초기 피아노 소나타 A장조를 통해 그의 독창적 음악세계를 고찰해 보았다. 슈베르트의 주제는 순차 진행하는 긴 선율로 구성되었으며 전조를 통해 화성적 색채를 바꾸기도 하였다. 리듬에서는 붓점 리듬, 3연음부, 당김음, 지속음 등을 다양하게 사용하였다. 다이내믹에서도 갑작스런 강약의 대조나 자유로운 휴지의 사용으로 곡에 긴장감을 주었다. 특히 슈베르트는 이 소나타에서 제1악장의 제1주제와 제2주제의 성격을 전통적 소나타와 다르게 구성하였고 조성도 같은 조를 사용하였다. 또한 그는 제2악장에서 하나의 주제(mono-theme)를 사용하는 특이함을 보였고 제3악장에는 소나타 형식에 무곡을 도입하는 등 새로운 형식을 취하였다. 이렇듯 슈베르트는 소나타라는 엄격한 형식을 바탕으로 서정적 선율과 다양한 화성의 색채감을 자유로이 다루었던 낭만주의 초기의 선구적 작곡가로서 중요한 의의를 갖는다.;This thesis is attempted to study analystically F. P. Schubert's Piano Sonata in A Major, D. 664. It is on the purpose of understanding composer's music and reconsideration of fixed idea about Schubert. Having influenced by German literary romanticism, the early romanticism effected for composers to show their romantic temper by the dramatic social event and trend of thought. Accordingly, in this period, objective expressions to control the latter classicism were collapsed gradually, and new dictions which freely expressed the subjective sense and mental feeling were appered. But there phenomenon was related to the classicism at the and 18 century, they can be regarded as extention, change and expansion not discontinuity from classicism. Schubert, born under these background, played a leading role to establish synthetically both classic and romantic tendency. As the composer of the early romantic school, Franz Peter Schubert(1797-1828) has been more recognized in Lied of vocal music than in instrumental music. But he left a broad range of pieces over several fields including vocal pieces and instrumental pieces. Especially Schubert's piano sonata presented new model of Romanticism with his peculiar lyric tune and rich harmony under classic form. Schubert has more than 20 piano sonatas, and among them only 11 pieces are finished ones. In this thesis, Firstly, we investigated historical background, Schubert's life and his piano music and a backdrop of the work. We then analyzed each movement of the piano sonata in A major, D. 664. This piano sonata is the work of the early period. Three movements of this sonata are in sonata form. In the first movement the serene, expansive lyricism of the opening theme and more assertive second group challenge gender stereotyping, in which the first theme is traditionally more 'masculine' and the second more submissively 'feminine'. The Andante, built on a gently sighing theme is, unusually, mono-thematic, whereas the final contrasts the fleet opening theme with a halting second group which then turns into a rollicking landler. Throughout the finale the pianistic figuration is both idiomatic and original. This sonata has the characteristics of the romantic music with their lyric melody, harmonic color sense, In respect to rhythm, triple or tone type of ostinato were used artifully. As so far, by analyzing the sonata in A major, D. 664 in many aspects, we could have a new understanding about Schubert and his piano sonata.
