Francis Poulenc의 Opera La voix humaine에 관한 연구 및 분석

Abstract

Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) 은 20세기 전반에 프랑스 음악 발전에 이바지한 피아니스트이자 작곡가이다. 그는 관현악, 실내악, 피아노, 오페라, 가곡, 합창 등 다양한 장르에 걸쳐 많은 작품을 남겼으며 프랑스 6인조(Les six)의 일원으로 특히 단순하며 우아한 프랑스적 음악을 작곡하였다. 본 논문은 학문적으로 연구가 미흡했던 뿔랭크 오페라의 한 작품인 「La voix humaine(인간의 목소리)」에 관해 대본과 음악의 관계를 분석, 연구한다. 즉, 대본과 음악의 연관 관계, 시를 음악화 하는 과정에서의 화성, 형식에 대한 분석을 통한 연구로 「La voix humaine」 에 나타나는 뿔랭크의 음악어법을 추출하고자 한다. 본 논문에서의 음악분석이 분석을 위한 분석이 아닌 작품의 이해와 연주에 도움이 될 수 있는 분석을 시도할 것이며 이 논문을 통해서 「La voix humaine」을 연주하는 분들에게 도움이 되길 바라는 마음으로 20세기 중반의 중요한 오페라인 뿔랭크의 오페라 「La voix humaine」 을 이 논문을 통해 소개하고자 한다.;Francis Poulenc the eminent French composer, wrote three operas, of which 'La voix humaine」 was the third. For the libretto, Poulenc changed Cocteau's original play for the musical recreation of the character's psychological and emotional situations, without altering the story line. Poulenc maintained the originality and simplicity of Cocteau's play in this opera in terms of its dramatic aspects. This opera is uniquely, a monodrama in which the one character, a woman(soprano), speaks on the telephone throughout. The characteristics of the opera are as follows. 1. The opera consists of three major sections, and the second and third sections can be divided into two smaller sections. 2. The plot is divided into fourteen ''Phases'' , and the "Phases" in the libretto are connected with fourteen musical thematic motives. 3. The vocal line consists mainly of lyrical characteristics, even though the style is close to declamatory. 4. The orchestral part supports the vocal line in the traditional way, as well as playing the musical thematic motifs. 5. Although Poulenc used all the standard instruments in the orchestral part, he reduced the size of it, because he considered the vocal line needed to deliver the text effectively. 6. Poulenc's harmonic language in this opera is freer than in his previous operas. Most of the transitional sections are connected by chromatic and non harmonic tones for dramatic impact and musical flow. It is the author's wish that this thesis be of practical assistance to performers and scholars who study Poulenc's intriguing opera 'La voix humaine」.
