Beverly W.Harrison의 여성해방 윤리방법론 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 한국여성의 상황을 토대로 하여 기독교 윤리방법론을 모색하려는 기초작업의 일환이다. 그리하여 본 논문의 목적은 여성해방론(feminism)과 기독교 윤리를 접목시키고자 하는 Beverly W. Harrison의 여성해방 윤리방법론에 대한 연구를 통하여 오늘 한국여성의 상황에서 적절한 기독교 윤리학의 의미를 밝혀보려는데 있다. 이러한 전제아래, 우선 전통적인 서구의 기독교 윤리이론들이 남성우월적이고 여성억압적인 문화와 역사속에서 여성들의 경험과 문제들을 얼마나 간과하고 무시해왔는가 하는 질문을 제기한다. 그리하여 이러한 문제의식으로부터 대두된 여성해방론, 특히 사회주의 여성해방론이 보다 폭넓은 기독교 윤리학의 형성을 위해 어떤 기여를 할 수 있으며, 어떤 가능성을 제시할 수 있는가를 밝힌다. 그 다음에는 여성해방론과 기독교 윤리의 관계를 규명하고자 하는 서구여성 윤리학자인 Harrison의 윤리방법론을 고찰한다. 윤리적 행위의 주체로서의 인간에 대해 여성해방론자들은 어떤 이해를 갖고 있는가를 살펴보고, 그것에 기초하여 Harrison의 방법론적 틀을 분석한다. Harrison은 여성들의 억압적 상황에 대한 분노의 경험이 이원론적 가치체계에 의한 성차별주의에 근거함을 드러내고 이 여성의 경험을 근거로 하여 성의 정의 (gender justice)를 포함한 모든 사회정의를 실현하고 하나님과 인간사이의 관계, 그리고 인간과 인간사이의 관계를 회복시키는 윤리적 숙고작업을 시도한다. 이러한 과정을 통해, 그의 윤리방법들인 귀납적 방법과 비판-분석적 방법을 끌어낸다. 또한 Harrison이 중점적으로 다루고 있는 윤리문제들을 분석함으로써 그가 자신의 방법론에 근거하여 문제들에 접근함을 좀더 명확하게 밝힌다. 그리고나서 이상에서 고찰한 Harrisson의 방법론들을 토대로 한국여성의 상황에서의 기독교 윤리방법론 모색을 위한 기초적인 작업들을 한다. 한국여성이 처한 도덕적 상장을 유교 및 기독교의 가부장제와 경제적 빈곤의 상황으로 나누어 분석한다. 그리고 한국여성들의 억압적 현실을 가장 극명하게 드러내는 "매매춘"의 사례를 Harrison의 방법론에 근거하여 다룬다. 이 작업속에서 한국여성의 상황에 보다 적절한 기독교 윤리방법론을 제시한다. 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 하여, 결론적으로 이 윤리방법론의 한계점과 의의를 밝힘으로써 이 윤리방법론이 한국 기독교 여성해방 윤리의 전개를 위한 하나의 방법론으로 성립될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시한다.;This thesis is a basic work which gropes for the methodology of Christian ethics on the basis of Korean women's situations. The aim of this study is to make clear the meaning of proper Christian ethics under Korean women's situations today, through the study on Beverly W. Harrison's feminist ethics methodology that connects feminism with Christian ethics. Under the above assumption, first of all, the question is raised how the traditional Christian ethical theories in the West have overlooked and disregarded women's experiences and issues in androcentric culture and history. Therefore this study clarifies that feminism, especially socialist feminism risen from this critical mind can contribute, and suggest the possibility to the formation of the more inclusive Christian ethics. Next, one of the Western feminist ethicists, Beverly W.Harrison's ethics methodology is studied which examines the connection of feminism and Christian ethics. This study considers what understanding feminists have about human being as a subject of ethical act, and analyzes Harrison's methodological framework on the basis of it. Harrison reveals that women's experiences about the oppressive situations result of the sexism by dual value system. And she tries to reconstructure Christian ethics which realizes all kinds of social justice including gender justice and recovers the relationship between God and human being, between human beings. From this process, her ethical methods- inductive method and critical-analytical method -are drawn. And by analyzing the ethical issues which Harrison deals with preponderantly, it is more clarified that she approaches to the issues on the basis of her own methodology. Then, this study does basic work for the groping of Christian ethics methodology under Korean women's situations on the basis of Harrison's methodology. The moral situations in which Korean women are placed are analyzed divided by the patriarchy of Confucianism and Christianity, and the situation of economic poverty. And the case of "prostitution" revealing Korean women's oppressive realities most distinctly is dealt on the basis of Harrison's methodology. In this work, the methodology of Christian ethics more adequate to Korean women's situations is proposed. In conclusion, this study will suggest that this methodology of Christian ethics can be formed as a methodology to develop Korean Christian feminist ethics by pointing out the problems and meaning of this methodology under the above understanding.
