dc.description.abstract | JPEG2000은 기존의 JPEG에다 다양한 기능을 종합한 차세대 정지압축규격이다. 멀티미디어의 사용이 증가함에 따라 새로운 이미지와 고품질의 압축을 요구하게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 Image Compression, DCT-based JPEG 과 Wavelet-based JPEG2000 의 전반적인 내용을 알아보고, JPEG 과 JPEG2000 에 대해 비교해 보았다.;JPEG2000 is the new standard for still image compression. With increasing use of multimedia technologies: image compression requires higher performance as well as new features. In this paper: we start with briefly some basic concepts on image compression and overview of the DCT-based JPEG standard.
