時調의 意味單位와 構成類型

Abstract

本 論文은 定型詩인 時調의 構造的 特質을 糾明하기 위한 하나의 試圖로서 '意味單位'라는 개념을 설정하고 그에 따른 時調의 構成 및 展開方式을 考察한 것이다. 그 내용을 章別로 요약하면 다음과 같다. Ⅱ장에서는 統辭論的·意味論的 그리고 文彩(figure)의 관점에서 의미단위를 類型化하는 기준을 수립하고 실제 시조작품을 대상으로 初·中·終 각 章에 나타난 의미단위유형을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 가능한 6개의 유형 가운데 초·중장에서는 ＜1 2＞＜3 4＞와 ＜1 2 3 4＞유형이, 종장에서는 ＜1 2＞＜3 4＞와 ＜1＞＜2＞＜3 4＞, ＜1＞＜2 3 4＞유형이 우세함을 보였다. 즉 초·중·종장은 모두 두 음보가 한 의미단위를 이루어, 한 장에 두 의미단위를 놓이는 ＜1 2＞＜3 4＞유형이 普遍的 의미 유형임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 초·중·종장 각 유형들이 모여 시조 한 작품을 이룰 때 나타나는 12개의 결합유형도 아울러 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 각 의미유형들이 시조 한 장및 한 작품 전체에서 어떤 意味關聯樣相을 가지며 그 特性및 意味는 무엇인지 고찰해 보았다. 그 결과 한 장 내에서의 의미관련은 초→중→종장의 順으로 對等한 의미관계및 竝列構造가 점차 감소되고 因果的 接續이 主된 從屬的 의미관계가 점차 증가함을 보였다. 이는 시조 전체가 집중적 짜임새를 추구한 결과로 추론되었다. 한편 한 작품 전체의 의미관련은 초·중-병렬, 종-접속·종결의 관계가 많이 나타났다. Ⅲ장에서는 논의를 확대하여 시조의 構造的 特質을 演行形式, 漢詩形式, 다른 쟝르와의 관련하에 탐색해보았다. 그 결과 시조 구성형식의 특성이 연행형식상 歌曲唱의 영향일 수 있다는 가능성을 제시했다. 그리고 한국시가의 보편성및 시조가 가진 특수성이라는 점에서 우리 시가문학상 시조가 차지하는 위치를 가늠해 보았다. 本 論文에서 이루어진 연구는 시조의 定型的 特質을 이해하는데 도움을 주리라고 본다.;In the following thesis, the researcher studies the structural characteristics of the verse, Sijo (時調) , by defining the concept and researching the formation and evolution of the 'meaningful constituent'. The following is a summary of the thesis explained by each chapter. In the second chapter, the standards for patternizing the meaningful constituent are set in syntactic, semantic, and figurative view. Also the patterns in which each jang (章) appears were studied in many Sijo works. As a result, six patterns (A,B,C,D,E,F) were discovered. In the case of cho, joong jang, patterns C(12) (34) and A(1234) , and in the case of jong jang, patterns C(12)(34), D(1)(2)(34), B(1)(234) were found to be the universal patterns. Also twelve models which were derived from each jang that was mixed were studied. In the third chapter, by using the findings from the second chapter, the researcher found out how the meaningful patterns were related in every jang as well as every Sijo works. Also the researcher looked for its characteristics and meaning. The results of the third chapter is as follows; when placed in the cho-joong-jong order, the coodinate construction and parallel structure reduce. In opposite, the subordinate construction with the causal relation increase. In other words, although all three jangs basically pertained to the C(12)(34) pattern, the cho jang maintained its basic pattern, resulting a parallel and coordinate construction for two constituents. In the case of joong jang, there were more subordinate constructions by causal connections that coordinate constructions. When the joong jang is compared with the cho jang, a higher distribution of pattern A(1234) appeared. This proves that there exists a strong tendency to put two constituents into one. In case of jong jang, more subordinate constructions by causal connections than those of the joong jang. Compared to the low distribution of pattern B(1)(234), D(1)(2)(34) in the cho, joong jang, a high distribution appeared in the jong jang. And a strong tendency occurred to separate the first foot of jong jang. Form these studies, the researcher can see that Sijo stress logic and pursues a concentrative composition of meanings. And the whole realation in one Sijo work generally appears to have a parallel and coordinate pattern in the cho-joong jang, developing into a conjunctional conclusion in the jong jang. Also by expanding the subject of the thesis, the researcher further studied the structural characteristics of the Sijo by relating it to performance form, Chinese poetry form, and other genres. As a result of the study, the characterics of Sijo composition form showed a possibility of being influenced by kakokchang (歌曲唱) in the perfomance form. Considering the universality of Korean ancient poetry and the untqueness of Sijo, the researcher could assume the position that Sijo holds in the History of Korean poetry. Therefore, the study of 'meaningful constituent' will give a better insight in understanding the formation of Sijo.
