NOTES ON THE DECOMPOSITION OF THE TRANSFORMATION SEMIGROUPS

Abstract

Let P and Q be finite sets and let S and T be finite semigroups. If X = (Q,S) is the transformation semigroup and Y = (P,T) is the transformation monoid such that Y has a larger height than X then we prove that the height of X∨Y, the join of X and Y, is 1 + ( the height of Y ). Using the Krohn-Rhodes decomposition theorem, we prove that the join X∨Y is covered by a wreath product of simpler transformation semigroups.;Q와 S를 유한집합, P와 T를 유한반군이라 하자. X=(Q,S)를 변환반군이라 하고 Y=(P,T)를 X 보다 더 큰 높이를 갖고 있는 변환 monoid라 가정했을때 X와 Y의 결합 높이는 (1+Y의 높이) 가 된다는 것이 성립함을 보인다. 그리고 Krohn-Rhodes 분해정리에 의해서 X와 Y의 결합이 좀 더 단순한 변환반군들의 유한개의 Wreath곱에 의해서 피복된다는 것을 보인다.
