J.S.Bach의 Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue와 C.Debussy의 Reflets dans L'eau에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회의 연주 곡목 중 J. S. Bach의 「Chromatic fantasy and Fuguer와 C. Debussy의 "Reflets dans L'eau"에 관한 연구이다. Bach의 「Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue」는 즉흥적 요소를 가진 Fantasy와 전통적인 3부형식으로 된 3성 Fugue로 이루어져 있다. Fantasy는 토카타, 분산화음, 레시타티브 부분으로 나뉘어지며, 반음계적 진행과 자유로운 전조등의 특징들이 나타난다. Fugue역시 반음계적 상행진행으로 된 8마디의 긴 주제를 가지며 제시부, 발전부, 재현부, coda의 구성을 갖고 있다. Bach의 Fugue는 15∼16세개의 선법적인 구성에서 벗어나 조성적인 형식을 갖춘 것으로 18세기 음악의 조성과 구성에 영향을 미쳤다. Debussy의 「Image」 I은 그의 인상주의적 특징이 잘 표현된 작품으로 "Reflets dans L'eau", "Hommage a｀Rameau", "Moubement"등 3곡으로 이루어져 있다. 그 중 제1곡인 "Reflets dans L'eau"는 많은 잇단음표와 cadenza풍의 아르페지오등 즉흥적인 성격을 갖고 있으며 7, 9, 11, 13화음, 5도, 8도의 병진행, 온음음계, 5음음계, 중세교회선법, 지속음과 리듬, 박자, 빠르기의 변화등과 같은 Debussy의 새로운 음악기법들로 그는 인상주의의 음악을 대표하며 20세기 음악에 중대한 영향을 미쳤다.;This thesis is a study on J.S. Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and C. Debussy's Image I. Unlike 16 and 17^(th) century Fantasy, Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue is composed of an extemporaneous Fantasy and Fugue of conventional Fugue form. The Fugue is divided into Toccata, Arpeggio, and Recitative. It's chromatic scale and free modulation are the special characteristics of this piece, rerely found in others. The Fugue is also composed in chromatic scale, with 8measures of long themes and is divided into exposition, development, recapitulation and coda. Debussy's Image I is a piece that truely reflects his impressionistic feature and is composed of 3 pieces namely "Reflets dans L'eau", "Hommage a｀ Rameau". and the "Mouvement". The "Reflets dans L'eau" is made up of cadenza type Arepeggios; making the music sound very extemporaneous. The "Hommage a｀ Rameau" is in Sarabande style and is played slowly and solemly. The "Mouvement" is comprised of repetitions of identical rhythms and continuous usage of triplets making this piece very lively and cheerful. It can also relate to Stravinsky of Bartok's methods percussion instruments. Throughout the entire music, we can see Debussy's unique techniques and unprecedented musical expressions such as the appearances of the 7^(th), 9^(th), 11^(th), 13^(th) chord, the progression of parallel 5^(th), 8^(th), whole-tone scale, pentatonic scale, pedal point and various changes in rhythm, beat, and tempo.
