Abstract

This thesis is intended to examine the spanish composer who was working in the early 20th century Joaquin Turina (1882-1949), and his representing work <Poema en forma de canciones op.19>. During the second half of the 19 century and early decades of the 20 century, one of the most remarkable movements in music was "Nationalism". The development of modern Spanish nationalistic music was begun by Felipe Pedrell (1841-1922). After Pedrell, who led the way in using Spanish folkmusic, a nationalistic musicians' group in Spain was formed by his students Issac Albe´niz (1860-1909), Enriche Granados (1867-1916), Manuel de Falla (1876-1946). Turina was not his student like the others, but he became a nationalist composer with a help of Albe´niz and de Falla. He contributed to Spanish music's development. Turina's work is a mixture of nostalgia for his hometown Sevilla and European elements he learned in Paris. His work is bright, light and the structure is on a grand scale. Although His vocal pieces are not a major part of his repertory, but they are charming with unique color. The object of this thesis, <Poema en forma de canciones > is one of Turina representive vocal pieces and was composed to lyrics by Ramon de Campoamor. This work is composed of five songs 'Dedicatoria', 'Nunca Olvida', 'Cantares Los dos miedos', 'Las locas por amor'. These lylical songs include folk melody, rhythm and mode and the piano accompaniment plays an equal role with the vocal part embellishig the simple vocal line. The writer examined the general characteristics of Turina's music and son after looking at Spain's history, Spain's musical characteristics and Turina life and tried to help in the understanding of his music style and the expression of his charm by analyzing <poema en forma de canciones >.;본 논문은 20세기에 활동한 스페인 작곡가 투리나(Joaquin Turina;1882-1949)의 작품 「Poema en forma de canciones op.19(시 형식의 노래)」에 대한 연구이다. 19세기 말의 시대적인 흐름인 민족주의가 대두되면서, 스페인에서는 펠리페 페드렐(Felipe Pedrell; 1841-1922)의 등장으로 침체되어 있던 스페인 음악계에 새로운 음악의 시대가 열리게 된다. 그의 뒤를 이어 그의 제자들인 알베니스(Issac Albe′niz;1860-1909), 그라나도스(Enriche Granados;1867-1916), 파야(Manuel de Falla;1876-1946)에 의해서 민족주의 악파가 성립되게 되고 스페인 특유의 민족주의적인 작곡기법을 구사하면서 스페인 음악계를 이끌어 간다. 투리나는 페드렐의 제자는 아니었으나 위의 세 작곡가들과 함께 스페인 민족음악 발전에 크게 기여한 작곡가이다. 투리나의 작품에는 그의 고향인 세비야(Sevilla)의 민속적인 요소와 그의 파리 유학 시절에 배운 유럽적인 요소가 잘 혼합되어 나타나는 것을 볼 수 있다. 그래서 그의 작품은 경쾌하고 밝은 느낌과 스케일이 큰 웅장함을 함께 느낄 수 있다. 그의 성악곡은 그의 주요 작곡분야는 아니지만, 그의 성악곡 속에는 그만의 독특한 선율과 리듬, 서정성등의 특징을 발견 할 수 있다. 본 논문의 주제 작품인 연가곡 「Poems en forma de canciones op.19」는 그의 대표적인 성악곡으로 「Deaiaction(헌정;piano solo)」, 「Nunca olvida(결코 용서치 않으리)」, 「Cantares(노래하네)」, 「Los dos miedos(두 가지 두려움)」,「Las locas por amor(사랑에 미쳐서)」의 모두 다섯곡으로 구성되어 있다. 모두 연관성이 없는 시의 내용이지만 '사랑'을 주제로 한 노래의 모음곡이다. 서정적이면서도 매우 짧고 경쾌한 이 연가곡은 특히, 스페인 민속적인 리듬과 선법의 사용이 두드러져서 스페인 음악의 매력을 한껏 발휘한 곡이다. 논자는 이 작품이 탄생하기까지 이론적인 배경이 되었던, 스페인의 역사를 통한 음악적 흐름과 스페인 음악의 전반적인 특정을 살펴보고 연가곡 「Poema en forma de canciones op.19」을 분석, 연구하고자 한다.
