유아의 성과 연령에 따른 또래간 요구전략 및 반응

Abstract

본 연구는 4, 5세 유아들의 또래간 요구전략의 양상을 파악하고, 유아의 성이나 연령에 따라 차이가 있는지, 어떤 요구전략이 사용될 때 성공적인 반응을 이끄는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이와 같은 연구 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 1. 4, 5세 유아의 또래간 요구전략의 양상은 어떠한가? 1-1. 연령에 따라 사용하는 요구전략은 차이를 보이는가? 2. 성별에 따라 사용하는 요구전략의 양상은 어떠한가? 2-1. 성별에 따라 사용하는 요구전략은 차이를 보이는가? 3. 요구전략에 따라 나타나는 반응은 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울에 위치한 S유치원의 만 4, 5세 학급 유아 61명이다. 연구도구로는 또래관계에서 유아가 사용하는 요구전략 및 그 반응의 분류기준 및 관찰기록표를 사용하였다. 또래간 요구전략 유형의 분류는 Williams와 Schaller(1993), Levin과 Rubin(1982), 배지희(1995)의 연구에서 사용한 기준을 번역·수정하였고, 요구전략에 대한 반응은 Williams와 Schaller(1993)의 연구에서 사용한 기준을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 빈도와 백분율, 두 독립표본 t검증, x^(2)검증에 의해 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 4, 5세 유아가 가장 많이 사용하는 요구전략은 '지시'와 '명령'으로서 직접적 요구전략으로 나타났다. 또한 '위협적 행동', '밀기', '때리기', '놀잇감 빼앗기'등 물리적 요구전략은 사용비율이 매우 낮게 나타났다. 연령에 따른 요구전략의 차이는 의문형, '암시적 질문'과 '물리적 요구전략'에서 발견되었다. 즉, 5세 유아가 4세 유아보다 '암시적 질문'을 많이 사용하였고, 4세 유아가 5세 유아보다 '의문형', '밀기'의 요구전략을 더 많이 사용하였으며, 물리적인 요구전략을 4세 유아가 5세 유아보다 많이 사용한 것으로 나타났다. 2. 성별에 따른 유아의 요구전략은 '물리적 요구'에 해당되는 '협박적 어조'에서 차이가 나타났는데, 남아가 여아보다 더 많은 '협박적 어조'를 사용하였다. 한편 다른 요구전략에 대해서는 성별에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 유아가 사용하는 요구전략에 따른 반응에서는 '언어적 요구전략'이 '물리적 요구전략'보다 성공적인 반응을 나타냈다. 또한 '직접적인 요구'를 사용한 경우 '승낙'의 반응을 많이 나타냈으며, '밀기', '때리기', '위협적 행동'과 '협박적 요구'를 사용한 경우 '거부'의 반응을 많이 나타냈다. 이것은 가장 성공적인 요구전략이 '언어적인 요구'인 '직접적 요구전략'이며, 성공적이지 못한 요구전략은 '물리적 요구'에 해당되는 '밀기', '때리기', '위협적 행동'과 '협박적 요구'로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to find out patterns of children's requestive strategies while they interact with peers and to examine the influence of their sex, age(4-5 year-olds) and to examine the response of requestive strategies. For this purpose, the study Questions have been established as follows; How are the patterns of children's requestive strategies according to their age(4-5 year-olds)? 1-1. What kind of requestive strategies do children(4-5 year-olds)usually use? 2. How are the patterns of children's requestive strategies according to their sex? 2-1. Are there any differences in the children's requestive strategies according to their sex? 3. How are the patterns of response according to their requestive strategies? The subject of this study are 61 children at S kindergarten in seoul. Categories of requestive strategies used in present study are direct requests, indirect requests, agonistic demands and physical demands according to Bae Ji Hi(1995), Williams and Schaller(1993), Levin and Rubin(1982). And categories of reponses to requests are compliance, noncompliance, no response according to Levin and Rubin(1982). The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, two independent t-test, x2-test. The results are as following; 1. Children used directives and commands which are directive requests most often, and the use of shoving, hitting, object struggle which are physical demands was very low. 4 years-old children more often used physical demands and interrogatives than 5 years-old children. 5 years-old children more often used inferred interrogatives than 4 years-old children. 2. The children's agonistic intonation which are physical demands differed significantly according to their sex. Boys more often used agonistic intonation than girls did. 3. Direct requests were successful when children attempted to make requests. But shoving, hitting, object struggle and agonistic demands were unsuccessful in eliciting a desired response from the target.
