시각적 텍스츄어(texture)를 활용한 표현연구

Abstract

다른 예술의 분야와는 달리 그림은 그 전달 방식이 거의 전적으로 시각에 의존되어진다. 보여지는 것에 의해서 감상자는 기쁨, 슬픔, 즐거움 등의 감정을 느끼고 그 전달이 얼마만큼 잘 되느냐에 따라 작품이 잘 표현 되었는가를 가늠하게 된다. 우리가 살고 있는 사회에 일반적 상식, 도덕 등이 통영되듯이 감성의 부분에 있어서도 우리 모두가 공통적으로 갖고 있는 일반성(common sence)에 의해 커다란 맥락을 함께한다. 그러나 받아들이는 개개인의 감정이나 경험, 심리적 조건에 의한 차이가 있으며 지각되는 당시 빛의 명도차로 인해 같은 사물을 본다 하더라도 개개인이 받는 느낌이 다른 것이며 또 이를 논리적으로 '이건 어떠 어떠한 것이다'라고 명제화 시켜 규정지을 수도 없는 것이다. 중요한 것은 이러한 여러가지 요인에 의하여 감상자는 그 나름대로 주관적인 감동을 받는다는 점이다. 이렇게 그림을 통해서 느껴지는 감성은 이미 개인에게 경험된 기억을 시각적으로 자극함으로서 재인되어 얻어지는 것인데 이 과거의 경험에 의해 저장된 기억이 단순히 글자(text)같이 객관적 사실로만 저장되는 것이 아닌 그 경험에서 느껴졌던 감정과 함께 남아있음으로 외부의 자극을 받아 재인될때 함께 수반되어진다. 따라서 우리에게 있는 경험에 의한 기억들은 감성과 함께 공존해 있으며 이 기억에 자극을 주는 외부 요소는 우리가 살고 있는 사회의 다양한 것들을 의미한다. 이 외부 자극에 의해서 과거의 기억들이 수정, 보완되기도 하며 새로운 다른 것이 기억되기도 한다. 결론적으로 감성은 우리에게 있는 어떠한 흔적을 외부 요소를 통한 자극으로 말미암아 일어난다. 그리고 본인은 그림을 통한 시각적 전달에 있어서 이 흔적의 대표적 요소인 텍스츄어(texture)를 통하여 우리의 수많은 기억들이 자극을 받아 그림의 감성 전달을 쉽게 느낄 수 있다고 생각하였다. 사전적 의미로 텍스츄어는 사물의 고유한 특징적인 촉감을 의미하며 그래픽(Graphic)에 있어서는 시각화된 2차원적인 촉감을 의미한다. 즉 손으로 만져서 느껴지는 그 고유의 촉감을 직접적으로 느낄 수는 없으나 시각을 통해 평면적으로 보여지는 것에 의해 간접적으로 그 촉감의 느낌을 알 수가 있다는 것이다. 이 때에 이 텍스츄어는 이미 과거에 경험되어짐으로 인하여 개개인이 특징적인 감성적 정보를 풍부히 지니고 있으므로 시각 이미지(visual Image)로서 다양하게 해석되어지기도 한다. 결국 텍스츄어는 이미 경험을 통해 개인들이 갖고 있는 고유의 흔적이고 감정이며 이를 통하여 다양한 느낌과 감성을 자극시킴으로 시각 표현에 있어서는 미적 감성을 쉽게 이끌어 주는 역할을 한다. 또한 텍스츄어가 보여주는 표현방법에 있어서도 시대의 흐름에 따라 다양해지는 표현 방법들로 인하여 또 다른 면을 새롭게 보일 수가 있다. 이는 회화에서 물감과 천을 함께 사용해서 보여주는 이미지가 물감만을 사용한 그림과 다른 복합적인 느낌을 전달하고 영상이라는 매채(medium)를 통한 시각예술이 캔버스를 통하여 보여주지 못했던 다른 부분을 표현할 수 있듯이 방법에 따른 표현효과도 다양하다. 특히나 이는 시대의 흐름에 많은 영향을 받는데 오늘날 같은 디지털(digital) 시대에 이미 우리의 생활뿐만 아니라 예술에 있어서도 디지털이라는 수단적 요소를 활용해 많은 것들이 표현되어지고 있다. 따라서 텍스츄어가 갖고 있는 이러한 지각적 다양성과 기억 요소의 특성을 활용함과 동시에 기본적 디지털 도구(tool)인 컴퓨터(computer)를 이용한다면 질감텍스츄어를 통한 깊이 있으며 현실상에서 보여지지 못하는 다양한 효과가 가능한 작품을 만들 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문의 작품은 '음악'을 소재로 하여 청각적으로 전달되어진 전반적인 느낌(feeling)을 텍스츄어를 위주로 삼아 곡의 깊이감과 공간감을 보여주면서 그 외의 조형요소를 이용해 시각화하므로서 눈으로 듣는 음악을 그려보고자 한다.;Unlike other art forms, pictures are entirely dependant upon visual method for the delivery of messages. Viewers will enjoy various emotions such as happiness, sadness, joy and so on and evaluate the visual effectiveness of a work from what they see. In large measure, common sense lies in our emotional generality, just as do common senses and morality in our society. Difference occurs, however, due to an individual's emotion, experience and psychological conditions. Furthermore, luminosity can make a great difference in each individual's feelings even though they look at the same thing at the same time, which cannot be logically defined as a proposition. The important fact is that each viewer can have his or her own enjoyment according to various factors. An emotion from a picture is recognized by visual stimulus and past memories are not just stored objectives like texts but remnants of one's experiences which is strengthened by stimulus from outside conditions. Consequently, memories by experiences exist together with emotions and the external factors that can touch those memories mean the various things in our society. So, Memories can be fixed, complemented, or got new different one by these external factors. As a result, emotions are derived from some marks from external stimulus. Hereby I think that delivery of emotions on a picture can be easily felt using textures, which are one of the typical factors in visual delivery. Using a texture, many of our memories can be stimulated. The literal definition of texture' is a typical characteristic sense of touching. In graphics, on the other hand, a texture means visualized second-dimensional sense of touch. That is, using graphics, indirect way of viewing a graphic work can replace the sense of touch even though there is no direct way by hand. At this point, the texture can be variously analyzed for viewing an image with unique personal emotional information that has already been experienced in the past. Eventually a texture is a typical personal trace and emotion throughout a person's experiences. Therefore, trace and emotion have a role easily led to an aesthetic sense because these two stimulate various feelings and emotions. Also, in expressive ways, a texture can show another new different aspect according to various expressive ways through the stream of times. Visual art expressed by images can show another part which can't be expressed on canvases. An image that seems to be expressed only by dyestuffs and fabrics can give a whole different feeling compared to the one by use of dyestuffs only. Especially, these are affected by the stream of times. These days, many things are expressed by digital way in our life and art. So, if texture can be applied with perceptive variety and characteristics of memory factors, and by the use of computers, which are a basic digital tool, a picture can be made with serious and various expression using texture. Here I have tried to show the music that can be seen, not listened to. In this work, feelings that are usually delivered by listening will be delivered by visual effects using textures which show the sense of deep and space in music.
