맞벌이부부의 가족스트레스와 결혼만족도에 관한 연구

Abstract

산업화와 도시화는 우리의 정치 경제 사회의 모든 면에서 변화를 가속화시켰으며 이같은 주변환경의 변화는 가족에도 변화를 일으켜 인간생활중에 누구에게나 일어날 수 있는 보편적인 생활사건인 가족스트레스의 요인이 되고 있다. 이렇듯 보편적으로 일어날 수 있는 생활사건인 가족스트레스가 제대로 관리되지 못하면 가족원의 신체적·정신적 건강 및 가족문제를 일으켜 불가피한 경우 가족해체현상까지도 초래하는 결과를 가져올 수 있다. 또 결혼만족도는 개인의 삶의 질을 결정할 뿐만 아니라 상호의존적 관계에 있는 다른 가족원의 행복과 나아가 전체 가족체계의 행복과 안정에도 중요한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 사회의 경제구조와 가사노동의 사회화, 여성의 사회활동 참가에 대한 인식이 높아져감에 따라 더욱 늘어나리라 전망되는 맞벌이부부를 대상으로 가족스트레스와 결혼만족도를 살펴보는 작업은 우리 가족의 현실과 문제점을 파악하고 밝은 미래 사회의 기초가 되는 건강한 가족형성에 도움을 줄 수 있는 자료가 될 것이다. 이와 같은 배경 하에 본 연구에서는 첫째, 부부의 가족스트레스 생활사건에 대한 경험의 차이를 살펴보고 둘째, 맞벌이부부와 일반부부의 가족스트레스 수준 및 결혼만족도의 차이를 비교하여 보며 셋째, 맞벌이부부의 취업 역할관련 변인들이 가족스트레스와 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 넷째, 가족스트레스와 결혼만족도의 관계를 분석해 보고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 위하여 서울시내 8개 초등학교 학부모를 대상으로 질문지 조사를 실시하였으며 맞벌이부부 316부(158쌍)와 일반부부 262부(131쌍)가 최종분석에 사용되었다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 생활사건에 대한 경험은 아내의 취업여부에 관계없이 남편의 경우 건강문제가, 아내와 부부의 경우 자녀 및 부부문제에 대한 경험빈도가 높았다. 2. 아내의 취업여부에 따른 가족스트레스 수준은 맞벌이부부가 일반부부보다 더 높았다. 3. 맞벌이부부 남편의 가족스트레스 수준에 영향을 미치는 변인을 파악하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 사회인구학적 특성들을 통제변인으로 투입한 1단계와 취업·역할관련변인을 함께 투입한 2단계에서 모두 남편의 학력이 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 4. 맞벌이부부 아내의 가족스트레스 수준은 사회인구학적 특성들을 통제변인으로 투입한 1단계에서 아내의 학력과 막내자녀의 연령이, 취업·역할관련변인을 함께 투입한 2단계에서 막내자녀의 연령이 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 5. 아내의 취업여부에 따른 결혼만족도는 맞벌이부부보다 일반부부가 더 높았다. 6. 맞벌이부부 남편의 결혼만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 파악하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 사회인구학적 특성들을 통제변인으로 투입한 1단계에서 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인은 없었으며, 취업·역할관련변인을 함께 투입한 2단계에서 결혼기간, 남편의 지지도, 남편의 가사참여도가 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 7. 맞벌이부부 아내의 결혼만족도는 사회인구학적 특성들을 통제변인으로 투입한 1단계에서 아내의 학력이, 취업·역할관련변인을 함께 투입한 2단계에서 남편의 지지도, 남편의 가사참여도, 불공평인지도가 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 8.. 가족스트레스와 결혼만족도간에는 부적상관관계가 있음이 밝혀졌다. 따라서 가족스트레스가 높아지면 결혼만족도는 낮아진다고 할 수 있다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 본 연구에서는 맞벌이부부가 일반부부에 비해 가족스트레스 수준이 높고 결혼만족도가 낮은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또 취업·역할관련변인 가운데 맞벌이부부의 결혼만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인은 남편의 지지도, 남편의 가사참여도로 나타났다. 따라서 아내의 취업에 대한 남편의 긍적적인 의식변화와 함께 성역할태도의 변화가 수반되고, 부부가 서로 협력하여 문제해결을 위한 자원과 대처방안을 효과적으로 이용할 수 있는 방안이 모색되어져야 할 것으로 보인다.;The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of family stress and the marital satisfaction of dual-career couple through the comparison the non dual-career couple and find the variables which influence these relationships. In this study, it was intended to analyze as follows; Firstly, to research the difference of experiences one life events. Secondly, to research the family stress and the marital satisfaction of dual-career couple through the comparison with the non dual-career couple. Thirdly, to perceive the family stress and the marital satisfaction of dual-career couple according to occupation-role related variables. Fourthly, to analyze the relationship between family stress and marital satisfaction. For those purposes, Questionnaire Survey has been done for 8 primary school parents in Seoul. 316 survey sheet (158 couples) of dual-career couples and 262 survey sheet (131 couples) of non dual-career couples were used for the final analysis. The main results from this study were as follows; 1. Throughout ones experience from life events, there were some differences. 1) The one thing often experienced by husband was health problems. 2) The one thing often experienced by wife and couple were marital and children-related problems. 2. The level of stress stemmed from wife's unemployment was as follows; Dual-career couple was higher than non dual-career couple. 3. By using the Hierarchical regression analysis, we can see what influences the dual-career husband's level of stress. The first stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics as the control factors, husband's educational level was significant variable. The second stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics and occupation-role related factors at the same time, husband's educational level was significant variable either. 4. By using the Hierarchical regression analysis, we can see what influences the dual-career wife's level of stress. The first stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics as the control factors, wife's educational level and the youngest child's age were significant variable. The second stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics and occupation-role related factors at the same time, the youngest child's age was significant variable. 5. The marital satisfaction stemmed from wife's unemployment was as follows; Non dual-career couple was higher than dual-career couple. 6. By using the Hierarchical regression analysis, we can see what influences the dual-career husband's marital satisfaction. The first stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics as the control factors, there was no significant variable. The second stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics and occupation-role related factors at the same time, marital period, husband's support and the degree of husband's household participation were significant variable. 7. By using the Hierarchical regression analysis, we can see what influences the dual-career wife's marital satisfaction. The first stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics as the control factors, wife's educational level was significant variable. The second stage ; When looking at the sociological characteristics and occupation-role related factors at the same time, husband's support, the degree of husband's household participation and the perception of inequity in the division of family works were significant variable. 8. The higher the family stress is, the less the marital satisfaction there is.
